As the new cycle begins, please remember, my Sparklings, to hold close all who embed themselves in your Spark.
This time of every cycle is considered the hardest for all of Earth, leaving many in fear, and thus pain.
Be there for them. Send a transmission expressing kindness, offer a friendly servo to all you pass, and check with those you care about to ensure they do not struggle alone through this time. Pain is a burden none can bear alone. Assist where possible to ease that burden, or even share it with others when you can.
Kindness reaches infinite Sparks across to galaxies beyond.
And such a thing is what makes this life worth living.
Be the reason a Spark continues shining this cycle.

My Sparklings, please know it's essential to fill your life with whatever makes you happy, and there is no shame in forgoing the negative.
This Earth, and every world for that matter, is full of events and histories which are upsetting, and your systems are not coded to handle every negative happenstance at once. Or even long-term.
You are not obligated to break coding and immerse yourself in the happenings of every place currently, whether by reading articles or watching news networks and videos, or any method similarly. You have every right to ignore news and find more productive ways to help people such as volunteering locally, assisting a neighbor, or donating items you no longer use or need.
But your anxiety and worry produced by consistent immersion into current events helps nobody, and only damages your internal systems and yourself.
Find whatever brings happiness to your Spark. Hobbies, fictional media, photography, animals, passions and friendship, anything promoting your personal joy. Limit your social media feeds to these subjects, and forge your personal world one of less negativity and more positivity.
You are precious, and your Spark can only burn so long.
Do not let that Spark fade early from worry and fear.

Knowledge is timeless, in that what you learn may be relevant for ages following.
But it also means that knowledge holds no limit on what time you obtain it.
You, my Sparklings, are never too old to learn a subject or skill. Whether learning how to read in your middle ages, or fix a device as an elderly bot, cook meals as a young Sparkling, or speak a new language while grown, knowledge does not care for one's age.
Remember that you are created by Primus, without any programming, and you must build your database with information gained as you grow.
Such information is there within the universe waiting for whoever seeks it. If you can find it, you can learn it. There is no reason age should keep you from such matters.
You are never too old to learn even the simplest things.
And, of course, know that I am proud of you for learning at all. I commend you, from the core of my Spark, and I'm forever grateful that you gave such time and effort to obtain what knowledge you now hold.

(Hey I never added to the blog that, if anyone ever wishes for advice privately and you don't want it published, send a message and I'll respect that privacy, or if you send an ask just be sure to mention you'd like the ask not to be published and I'll be sure you get a private reply from Optimus. :) Just remember anonymous asks can't be replied to in private.)

He most certainly wouldn't, and neither do I. Keep healthy, Sparklings, and take good care of yourselves. You may change forms at will throughout your life, but you have only one body to use as you live. Be careful and gentle with it.

I know tonight I will be driving the human behind this blog to his local corner store which serves his favorite hot chocolate. They restored their specialty peppermint drinks for the coming months, and humans, like all sentient beings, need joy to thrive. However much the hot chocolate brings him, he will be happier than before even if only in some small part.
But any part happier than before is happier no less.
Take what joy you can find, and recognize that a lifetime of happiness is no instant make. You must add to it with little things over time.
Be gentle with yourselves, and do something small each day to build your happiness.
do something nice for yourself today, ideally MORE than one thing, but at least one.
it can be as small as making a cup of tea with a flavor you like or taking a second to sip on your coffee, really pay attention to how it tastes and the feeling of the warm cup in your hands.
take an extra break at work. take it in the bathroom if you have to, but give yourself that extra time. deep breaths.
get a little snack. something that you might not normally allow yourself.

Breathe, my Sparklings. Release the pressure in your coils, shift your joints some, and refill those reserves with your favorite coolant.
But do not continue to overheat from strain and excessive internal overload.
Time continues regardless, and all things will meet their end. Even these troubled days, and the anxieties which follow.
You will endure. You will live. You will someday again thrive.
I am here. Speak to me if you need support.
We stand as one.

An important transmission to all Sparklings in the USA:
Please be cautious and monitor your internal functions during these coming days. Go offline and rest your systems for some time if needed, and do not burn out your Spark plugging into every news outlet. Should you find yourselves reaching beyond capacity, cool your engines and unplug from the external systems overloading you with such feelings.
Breathe the air, and listen to your Spark. Find what it needs, and don't ignore that.
Take care, my friends. You are important. Treat yourselves as such.

Sparklings, remember that you are doing the best you can with what you have in the moment.
And that is enough.
When someone tells you to do your best, then grows disappointed because you did not achieve their standards, that is their issue to handle, not your own.
Though it's good to set goals and do better always, if someone consistently finds nothing but disappointment in your efforts despite you giving your all every time, they will continue to be displeased and likely never change this. Some only search for the negatives, and overshadow all positives, and they are not the sort worth sharing your Spark with.
Instead of forfeiting the Energon attempting to satisfy those who cannot be satisfied, find friends and safe communities which build a supportive environment, praising your improvement and adding light to your Spark with kindness regarding your efforts.
You are enough, and I am proud of what you've achieved.

Always be proud of your progress, little Sparklings. Each step forward is a step no less, and any improvement from where you were is worthy of praise because it shows you are better than you were before, even if only a little.
Take solace in knowing you're doing the best you can with what you have. Keep improving, and transform yourself into the future better form you have envisioned.
I am proud of you.

An important lesson for all Sparklings to learn is that we stand as one because our struggles are too great to handle alone. There is strength in numbers.

Remember, Sparklings, that what kindness you share impacts a life forever in the greatest ways possible. No matter how small, your positive actions are remembered fondly by those you've affected, and equally so they think well of you always when remembering your kindness. As such, your name is spoken highly with a lasting appreciation.
Be a friend to all. Be kind to all. And know that should you feel negatively about yourself, the kindness you've given to someone has inevitably made their life better, and as such they've told everyone what a great person you are.

Sparklings, be safe in the coming storm. Evacuate if necessary. Remember that Cybertron was home, but when it fell, we found a new home elsewhere and built our lives here. If you must do the same, you will make it. You have us here on your side.
To those who seek to belittle the coming hurricane and those trapped inside it, please understand this is no laughing matter, and that such conditions are sincerely detrimental to those caught in its path. Not everyone has the means to escape, and that is no fault of the individual. This hurricane is a serious and dangerous disaster which cannot be mocked. Those who are suffering its wrath are handling enough trouble that you do not need to add to their pain.
Support your fellow people, and give a helping servo in these trying times. Send a transmission of kindness to those you know need it, as kindness is never a bad thing to offer.

Little Sparklings, remember that the world and life may seem bleak. But this world was not built by complacency. It is a culmination of communities working as one to create a place of prosper.
Find your community. Do not plant the future, plant a present that grows into the generations that will follow.
In highschool I wrote a story about a middle-generation of stellar travelers. Their parents were born on earth and left as children, and the middle generation will not live long enough to see their destination. They live their entire lives on the ship and I wrote about them trying to find their place in everything. They will never know blue skies and warm beaches and open fields with warm breezes. They’ll never know birdsong or crickets or frogs. They’ll never hear the rain on the roof of a dreary day. I never could find the right way to end the story. I wanted it to be a happy ending, but I didn’t know how to do it.
I realize now that it was a book about me dealing with depression before I even knew it. Looking back at how blatant the projecting was, it’s obvious now. It wasn’t then.
In the story, the middle-generation people are lost. They’re apathetic. They’re just a placeholder. The only job they have is to keep the ship running, have kids, and die. As the middle generation of people began becoming adults, suicide rates were skyrocketing. Crime and drug rates were jumping. This generation was completely apathetic because they felt that they had no use.
In the story, a small group of people in the middle-generation create the Weather Project. They turn the ship into a terrarium. They make magnificent gardens and take the DNA of animals they took with them and recreate them and they make this cold, metal spaceship that they have to live their entire lives on into a home. They take what little they have and they break it and rearrange it into something beautiful. They take this radical idea and turn the ship into a wonderful jungle of trees and birds and sunshine.
And I realize now how much it reflects my state of mind as I transitioned from a child into an adult while dealing with depression. You always hear “it gets better” and “when you’re older things will be easier” and I was so sick of waiting for it to get better. I was in the middle-generation stage. And I was sick of it. I was so sick of waiting.
When I was in highschool I didn’t know how to end the story. I didn’t know how to have a happy ending. I didn’t have the life experience then to finish the story in a meaningful way. I didn’t know how to make it better for these middle-generation characters.
But now that I’m older, I’m learning. That if you sit and wait for things to get better, it never will. You have to take your life and break it apart and rearrange it into something beautiful. You have to make the cold metal ship into the garden that you deserve. You have to make your own meaning. You have to plant your own garden.
You have to teach yourself that being happy is not a radical idea.
