the thing i love most about the prequel trilogy: fait accompli

the ending is already written, there’s no subverting the future, the tragedy has been carved into the stone monolith.

watching Anakin grow from a child, to a teenager, to a young adult, theres a hope that he won’t become the monster everyone fears. he grows up, surrounded by people that are for peace, he experiences loss, he falls in love, and is hailed as a hero. despite the sub-text of grooming and abandonment, there’s still a bright spot that maybe he will fulfill the prophecy another way, he won’t turn his back on the jedi to save Padmé, he won’t Fall and become Vader.

not only the prequel movies, but the clone wars series, both the 2003 and 2008 versions, give a look into the time gap between AotC and RotS. new characters are introduced, existing ones get more development, the clones are given names, faces, and personalities. new planets, new species, new plot lines, all with the ability to give the existing characters a new path.

it still doesn’t change what has already happened. Anakin will still Fall. Obi-wan will still lose the Order. Padmé will still lose her life. the clones will still be phased out and the stormtroopers will still take their place.

all the planets and battles, the laughter and tears shared, every relationship built in war time, will all be for naught.

just watched the 20th anniversary showing for Revenge of the Sith. im feeling like writing star wars angst

i would like to remind those present that anakin had just seen ahsoka for the first time in ages right before that movie. he went into that battle feeling pretty good about life. he then promptly had a shit week that ended with his wifes death and the fall of everything he held dear

the in depth Lore im putting into these people, only to kill them to further not a main character but a long dead person in the present time line is insane to me

the realest sdv post. i too disappear for days on end and only reappear for some fishing, mining, and the rare purchases (provided I don't use the warp totems that i somehow magically have an abundance of). if i disappear into calico, no one knows whats happened to me until the next passing glace or i appear in Harvey's office. once a year, i disappear for a whole season to ginger island where they just might see me sprinting across the beach to the cove or see me at the night market or the feast of the winter star. i dont interact with the community but somehow i made friends with the little shadow in the sewers, the two old men up in the mountains, and the recluse up in the tower. i carry odd things around like soggy newspapers, poisonous foliage, a stack of 50 stone pathways, clumps of fish bait, or even a whole wood chipper hoisted over my head, sprinting down to the farm.

I'm a cryptid in Stardew valley. I live on the outskirts of town. I disappear for days on end, purchasing daily one-way tickets to the calico desert. Nobody knows where I go while I'm there. Can occasionally be found fishing at random spots throughout town. I am never not running on at least one triple shot espresso. I take the abandoned minecarts to get around and am frequently seen disappearing into the sewers. I carry a sword for some reason. Once every week or two I will stride into your bedroom to deliver you your favorite meal. I'm a self-made millionaire. I attend all the town events and will go to your concert in the next town over. I have donated approximately 2583 items to the local museum and singlehandedly revitalized the town community center. There are rumors I can talk to junimos. I'm friends with the local wizard

it just hit me that finals season is usually star wars season for me. but ive been hit by a wave of Shadowhunters that i havent touched since elementary/middle school. i read a few fics back in highschool, but nothing as intense as this wave or my initial fixation.
