unpopular opinion but tim letting go of the robin mantle doesn’t actually make sense for his character. a lot of people treat his return to robin after being red robin as some kind of character regression, forgetting that tim took on the red robin mantle for the exact same reason he became robin: to help bruce. when he was rr he didn’t move on from robin, he didn’t grow out of it, and he didn’t choose to leave it behind. instead, he continued to do exactly what he thought robin should do, which is save bruce wayne. tim’s entire identity as a superhero is tied to bruce. he became robin to help bruce, and he originally planned on quitting as soon as bruce stopped needing him. the tragedy of it all is that bruce will always need him, so tim will always be there.
