Yeah, so I made a Howard Stark

“Oof. Ouch, that hurts. Getting a name for myself, I’m surprised you haven’t heard of me.” He joked with a smile, a hand clamped on his chest. Though he felt some... negativity from the other man, he elected to ignore it. Stark was an easy-going man, as long as you didn’t frame him for treason, you were probably safe. Then again, there was that time he punched the guy who got his order wrong...

That was last week. Couldn’t hold it against him.

“You got me interested, regardless. Show me, what else can you do? ---Mr...?”

“Speaking from someone who has only just got into the phanomonal industry that comes with successful filmmaking, I can say that I am impressed. Howard Stark. Got a card or somethin’? Or was that not an audition and a bid to get my attention?”

“I’m sorry, I left them all at home.” The words were sincere despite the irritation sparking through Quentin.  Still, if that was the assumption the other wanted to make, he could run with it.

“Should I know who you are?” He added that question only because he felt this was the type of person who would get offended that he didn’t know.

“Doctor.” Only just met her, and she was already blowing his mind. There was something more about her, behind what she was putting on, he was sure of it. And it was something that intrigued him. That was impressive. Not many things did that. “Well then, Doctor, I suppose we are friends now. If you say so.” He winked, leaning back and crossing his legs. “I have to admit, I agree, with the whole women thing. Some of the best people I’ve worked with are women. Problem is, they don’t always realise what they’re capable of. Anyone who can get through society and make something of themselves deserves the upmost praise.” Peggy had proved that to him, among others. She was probably the strongest person he knew. At least, in the realm of the living. It was just that... he was Howard Stark. Of course he wanted to sleep with everything that moves. Women? Fair game. Most of them liked being hit on like that. Didn’t make him a bad man.

No. Other things made him a bad man.

That was beside the point.

“So... Doctor. What are you doctor of exactly? Oh- and that tea? Over there. Independent woman and all, you can make it yourself.” He teased, grinning a little.

Howard hesitated. The blonde was something different, he could already tell. That, and her mannerisms alone came across as something not really known in this century. Confident and persuasive. He leaned forward a little, biting on a small stick in the side of her mouth as he thought. “Friend. And married is the last thing I am.“ He gave a small smirk. “You remind me of her. Got that presence. Confidence. I respect that.” He nodded a little.

“Howard Stark. And who might I have the pleasure of talkin’ to?”

the Doctor leans forward. “friend. i see. so yah are single.” not that shes REALLY interested. but he is rather good looking, that she HAS to admit. “Confidence. A woman ought t’ have confidence, especially in these times. with the degradation of us.” she was still getting used to the sexism, especially in these older times where women were treated as lowly. 

“‘m the Doctor. Just the Doctor. Nice t’ meet yah, Howard Stark. ‘m gonna call yah Howard ‘cos we’re friends now.” this was simply WHO she was.

Protective mode. That was a certainty. It gave Peter a warm fuzzy feeling. He quickly pulled his mask back on because - if he was honest - any longer and he would have teared up, and that was NOT the way this was going to go when it came to a) a life threatening situation, and b) seeing Mr. Stark again. He hadn’t known how much he missed him until now. 

“I won’t get hurt if you don’t get hurt, Mr. Stark. I’ll follow your lead.” He paused. “AND- ...it’s good to see you. Really. You have NO IDEA what it’s been like in my reality.” Never appreciated just how much you had my back. “I’ll tell you about it if we get out of here alive, yeah?”

WELL, that was something. Peter landed in front of Tony, placing a finger up as he pulled off his mask. (After his vacation, he really needed to stop doing that). With a breath, he focused on the man before him. He could do this.

“This is a complicated situation. Dr. Strange sent me.” There was a pause. “It’s a long story but the short version is; I come from an alternate reality. Surprise! And-” god is it good to see you. “I’m here to look for something. It’s important, and I’m gonna need your help but first, let me help you. Protective Tony mode means there’s something FISHY going on here and believe me, I am more than capable of helping you.” 

“ An  alternate  reality?  You  expect  me  to  believe  that? ”            He’d  hear  and  seen  weirder  things  so  it  was  probably  entirely  possible  but  he  hadn’t  expected  Peter  to  have  an  explanation  quite  honestly.   The  face  plate  moved  back  up  to  reveal  Stark’s  confused  expression. 

Strange,  he  knew  of  him  but  they  weren’t  close.            “ Alternate  reality. ”            That  time  Tony  muttered  the  words  underneath  his  breath  and  crossed  his  arms  against  his  chest.           “ I  am  not  being  protective!  But  fine,  don’t  get  yourself  hurt  or  we’ll  have   a  problem. ”

"NYC, huh? Definitely doesn’t feel like home to me.” He mumbled under his breath, peering around Peter for just a moment, before he looked back at him. “Sorry- what? The Stark you know died? Do I have a twin brother I should be aware of or is this one of those... out of this world-type-phenomenon. ‘Cause I have a feeling... it isn’t exactly the late ‘40s.” He motioned around him with a chuckle as he took out a small cocktail stick and popped it in his mouth. “What kind of Stark Tech are we talkin’ about, huh? Actually- no, just show me. Take me to it. And give me the brief as we go.”

“…Well I can certainly say that this isn’t the first time I’ve met someone who rocks tights as good as that. And that’s sayin’ somethin’.” There was a pause, and a shift in his step. “Mind telling me where exactly we are? And throw in your name too, it’s a pet peeve of mine, talkin’ to a brick wall. If I can’t know your face, I can certainly know something to call you by.”

He went to the only place he knew was safe. Or at least, tried to. Swinging next to someone? Wasn’t exactly used to it. Thankfully he managed to stay just ahead, ensuring he didn’t accidentally swerve into the newcomer. Though, his words still caught his ears. He groaned lightly, looking around quickly before finding himself on a roof. He stumbled, placing his hand on the nearby wall and pulling off his mask. Fresh air helped with the panicking and his heart rate that wouldn’t quite stabilise.

"Stupid... doesn’t cut it. But, wasn’t my fault this time.” He turned slightly, looking at the guy. Mask off? Who cares. Everyone knew who he was now anyway. He gave a small frown at him, shaking his head. 

“A guy framed me for his murder and for trying to kill thousands of people. He revealed who I am on the news. It’s COMPLICATED, but I didn’t do any of it. Now I don’t know where to GO. But I know that you really shouldn’t be looking like you’re Spider-Man right now.”
