For near about millennia, this temple remained as a mighty historical sign for Hindu pilgrims and also for the other travelers coming to Puri.

It’s the flag that is mounted on the top of this temple uses to flow with an opposite direction to the wind flow. Still there is no scientific evidence found why it uses to flow in this fashion.

 This flag is changed every day by a priest who uses to climb to the top of the temple where he flag is mounted. The height such a priest uses to cover daily to reach and change that flag is equivalent to the height of a forty-five storey building.

There is no shadow found with the Jagannath Puri temple. No matter what time of the day it is, this temple has never delivered a shadow of its own. Due to this reason, the structure and construction of this temple is considered as an architectural marvel.

The Sudarshan Chakra mounted at the top of this temple is made of hard metal and weighs around a ton. The interesting fact is how this weight was carried to that top by humans without taking help of any machinery, as there was no such during that time? From just any direction you look at this chakra, it looks back to you with the same sort of appearance. It looks same from just any direction.
