The response to "ace people are just virgins who can't get laid!" Shouldn't be "ace people can still have sex!" but instead " being a virgin isn't a bad thing."

The response to "aro people are just heartless freaks!" Shouldn't be "aro people can still feel love!" And instead be "not feeling love or other emotions doesn't make you a bad person."

Instead of pushing the idea that aspec people can be "normal like allos" we should instead be trying to normalize aspec experiences. Yes aspec people can be normal because aspec identities are normal. Some aros fall in love. some aces have sex. but they should not be the only valid aspec experiences. We should not use these experiences to make the aspec identity more palatable to amatonormativity and allos.

Everytime a Billy anti says that Billy just has daddy issus while also claiming he abused Max, I'm just gonna say that Max has Billy issus. I mean in their mind it means the same thing so I might as well. Also El? Has daddy issues because of Dr Brenner 😊 (did I do a good billy anti impression?) A lot of my favorite characters in fiction are bad people. In fact, I'd say absolute shitheels are much more likely to be interesting and developed than the good guys most of the time. I've seen a lot of people, both online and IRL, who act like liking certain characters is a "red flag" or that characters are bad for doing bad things. I see this a lot in anime fanbases as well, where people just have absolutely rabid takes like thinking it's "toxic" to like certain characters, especially ones that display traits that (understandably) really personally hurt and upset people IRL. Of course I understand people being triggered by certain characters. People are allowed to be uncomfortable with things. People however are not allowed to harass me over what I like, write or ship, especially if it's tagged properly. The end.

I don't care if someone likes or dislikes a character. That's a personal opinion that they can have without me agreeing or disagreeing. That's their thing and has nothing to do with me and I have no say in what they should like. Someone is a stan of a fictional character? Okay, cool, you do you. Someone is an anti of a fictional character? That's totally cool too. I don't care.

It's the moment when they attack real people for having their own opinion that pisses me off.

Also agree with your last statement... If they deeply dislike a character or a ship and they see a fic that is tagged with all the things they dislike... Why aren't they ignoring it or trying to filter those tags out?
