The angel had no intention of stopping or of having any mercy. He continued to lick and suck his way down the demon's body, his hands clutching Crawley’s hips hard enough to leave bruises. Finding the scales shimmering in the sunlight, their iridescent colors more stunning than the angel would have imagined, he kissed them reverently, as if they were holy, for to this angel, they were.

I love Stede’s brilliance. He walks into piracy, where he really doesn’t know what he’s doing, and he survives not really by being lucky but by intrinsically understanding people. His kindness protects him. He talks Ned Low’s crew into mutiny. He talks a French ship into destroying themselves. He survives a duel by improvising. He keeps his crew because his ability to see their sweetness and to encourage it mean that they actually want him around. He’s a brilliant captain, the only one featured who does not get mutinied on.

Most of the things he’s mocked for, many of them associated with femininity and seen as therefore of less value, are what keeps him alive. Imagine if he’d gone to sea with all this masculine knowledge—he might have been a successful pirate for a bit, but he’d have been killed fast. Ed would never have wanted to meet him. His crew would eventually have thrown him overboard. He’d have been killed in a raid, or hung, or stabbed.

Stede’s emotional intelligence, his capacity for kindness, his refusal to think the way other people do, is what allows him to survive and to change the world around him for the better.

Trying to picture Jemaine Clement or Pedro Pascal as Blackbeard feels sacrilegious.

Rhys Darby is the only actor who could’ve play Stede Bonnet; and once that was in place, there could only ever be one choice for Ed Teach.

“Oh Crowley..” the angel sighed his name in a pleading tone that made the demon quiver deep inside. His thrusts slowed, deepened, their bodies melting into one another.

“Set me,” Crowley continued, showing no mercy now, his voice wavering lustily as he felt himself lurch toward the point of no return, “as a seal upon your heart.. a seal upon your arm.. for love is strong as death…”

“Crowley, I– I..” the angel attempted breathily but all that came out afterwards was a string of sighs as the angel succumbed to the pleasure overwhelming his inexperienced body, his mind and his heart. With a barrage of passionate thrusts Crowley went in for the kill.

“Its flashes are flashes of fire... A raging flame.”

✍️ And you know what? I am extremely insecure and self-deprecating most of the time, and will continue to be, especially about how slooooow I am with writing, but...

I'm actually pretty 💓 in love 💓 with this chapter! Like....a lot. Which is partially why it took forever to write it to my satisfaction.

But it'll have ART, some of my favorite science, some of my favorite writing I've done including imagery that I think is rather cool.

And maybe best of all (imo)

It's basically my love letter to Crowley. 💝

Can't wait! (And hopefully others besides me will enjoy it as well! 😂)
