Heyy is ther a reason why i cant seem to see the oscfest tag on ao3? Every time i type it in ao3 doesnt seem to find it

It’s an ao3 issue.

If you want to post your work to the collection, we recommend doing this directly via the collection as explained here.

If you want to manually add a work to the collection, you have to type Osc_Fest_2025 into the Post to Collection/Challenges field and then confirm it by hitting comma (as you’d do with unwrangled tags too). If you go to preview it’ll show you that the work was added to the collection :)

How to post to the ao3 collection

It’s almost time to post so here’s a little guide on how to post to the ao3 collection.

1. Go to the collection You can do so by clicking here

2. Go either to the Dashboard or the Profile of the collection The link will lead you to the dashboard. There, you have a little button below the collection's name reading "Post to Collection". This button also can be found by clicking on "Profile."

3. Click on "Post to Collection" The regular "Post New Work" will open. The only difference is that under the tab "Associations" the correct collection is pre-selected.

4. Post Fill in all the fields like always, click "Post" and you're done. Please note that your fic won't be visible right away because the collection is unrevealed. It will show up once we reveal the collection.

Osc Fest 2025 is here!

We want to celebrate Oscar in all his ships, forms and moods. No matter who you ship him with, no matter if he‘s a race car driver, an animal shifter, a butcher, a baker, a candlestick maker, all is fair in love and Oscfest. This fest is open to all forms of creative media. Your mods @amarynas and @epylonia are at your service.

Every type of media is welcome! Fic, artwork, playlist, moodboard, web weaves, whatever you can think of! Sky's the limit

Oscar needs to be part of the main pairing, or the work needs to focus on Oscar as a main character for fics without a pairing or other types of media

Every trope is welcome, as long as it is properly tagged. There are no taboos, no limitations whatsoever

There's no minimum word count or any other requirements

Multi chaptered fics are very welcome. In case you are writing a multi chaptered fic, it is fine to only upload the first chapter before the deadline, and continue to work and upload after the reveal.

Usage of generative AI is not permitted

Archive locking content is greatly appreciated, but not mandatory. The collection is not on anon, but works can be posted on anon by putting it in an anon collection additionally to the Oscfest collection

How exactly will this work? How do we add our works in ao3 to the fest?

It's easiest if you join the collection.

We will write a detailed description of how works can be added to the collection when the reveal date is a bit closer.

Is “Upload Deadline Reveal: Wednesday, August 20th” essentially the last day to sign up for the event and/or is it the last day to upload/post a submission? Sorry for the silly question, this is the first fic fest I’ve considered joining and I’m not familiar with how it works. I just want to be aware of the dates so I can gauge if I’ll be able to finish my fic in time. Thank you to the mods for all your hard work organizing this, I’m excited to see everyone’s contributions!

It is the last day to both sign up and post your work to the collection. The collection will then be revealed on August 22nd.

You can sign up beforehand, even if you end up not participating - there’s no penalty or consequence or whatsoever.

We’re trying to keep it as open and welcoming as possible, because life always has the highest priority and a hobby like writing shouldn’t add pressure but bring joy.

If you think you won’t be able to finish your fic in time, you can also split it into two (or more) parts and upload the first chapter on the deadline date, and the remaining ones in your own pace.

A big yes to graphics! All sorts of media/art are welcome

There won't be any prompts on ao3 since it's not a prompt fest (at least this year, who knows what's going to happen next year ;)), but we if you have a prompt, you can drop them in our inbox and we'll share them and put them up for grabs

is there a minimum word count for written content?

No, there’s no minimum word count. You can make it as long or short as you want to.

It can be multi chaptered too, and it’s perfectly fine to upload one chapter at first and continue updating in your own pace after the deadline.

is there a way to give and accept prompts or do you have to think of your own 🩷

For this fest it’s not planned to submit prompts, since it’s not a prompt fest.

However, if you have a prompt, you can drop it into our ask box and we’ll publish ist, and if anyone likes it they can use it as inspiration ☺️
