I just read one post where someone hates the Bagginshields. He was very subjective and had a number of inconsistencies, but he helped formulate something that I often don't like when reading most fanfiction with them. I'm sorry, but often their relationship is so simple, as if everyone forgets the obvious thing that Thorin is a king who was raised by a king and wanted to be one. Everyone was living well in the Blue Mountains until Thorin gathered them. And, yes, he's obviously a snob. This is evident in relation to Bilbo.
