You know what?
AU: Twenty years later (or a little less), Odysseus and his crew return home. Odysseus is furious about Penelope's suitors, and his crew is just ….
Sailors surrounding the suitors: Okay, wait a minute, my son is here. LOOK DOWN, you're bothering the captain's wife, WHY THE FUCK, I need to talk to your mother, what the fuck happened in my absence…. Odysseus: ???? Lecture time? Right now, guys? Sailors, pulling the suitors back by their ears: Captain, no offense, but we need to get busy raising our kids, so ….
Extra detail in the AU: They make their sons work in the palace to compensate the queen.

Nathaniel is turning eighteen. He has his whole life ahead of him. He can be anything he wants to be. Nathaniel can pursue a political career and try to atone for the sins of the empire. Or Nathaniel can quit his job and become an artist. Nathaniel can travel with Kitty and explore the world. Nathaniel can learn to cook, read lots of interesting books, see new places, and make friends.
Nathaniel is turning eighteen. He did not die in the explosion under the rubble of the city.

Sudden headcanon: the voice of conscience in Nathaniel's head sounds like the voice of Bartimaeus or Kitty. Or Martha Underwood

Continuing to talk about my headcanons for the crossover pjo and trilogy…..
Fatal character flaws!
In Kitty and Ptolemy, I think it would be a heightened sense of justice. Also in Ptolemy it could be an excessive thirst for knowledge and curiosity.
Nathaniel's fatal weakness would be his ambitiousness. Similar to Annabeth's. Fakwarl's fatal weakness would be his thirst for revenge. Jabor's fatal weakness is aggression.
And Bartimaeus… I think it's an affection for people, a morbid love for those he cares about. Something remotely similar to Percy's fatal flaw.

In my pjo crossover headcanons, Bartimaeus could be a kid:
a) Nycta or Echidna, because they are the mothers of monsters; b) AFRODITE. Just for fun. No explanation, it's my favorite headcanon; c) Hermes, because Bartimaeus definitely has chaotic vibes of Hermes' children; d) Hephaestus. Exclusively because Hephaestus is the god of fire.
Nathaniel is, in my opinion, a child of Erida, the goddess of discord. Let's be honest, it suits him.
Kitty…child of Ares? Daughter of Hermes? Daughter of Athena? DAUGHTER OF FEMIDA?
Ptolemy is the son of Athena. Or her Roman form.
Addendum: Gladstone is the son of Zeus. Jacob is the son of Hephaestus. Fakwarl would be on Cronus' side. 100%.

Do you also think that this Tiktok sound from Lana Del Rey's "Choose your last words, this is the last time you and I, we were born to die" is perfect for Bartimaeus and Nathaniel's last scene?
And the sound "you're in the wind, I'm in the water - nobody's son, nobody's daughter" is perfect for Nathaniel and Kitty, because they were both abandoned by their parents????

Kitty or Ptolemy: what happens if I go to the Other Place?
Bartimaeus: If you know too much, you will soon grow old.

In a crossover between "Game of Thrones" and "The Bartimaeus Trilogy," Kitty Jones would 100% be from House Stark

Ptolemy and Bartimaues
The genie was used to stupid humans wishing for things like fame and fortune without considering the possible consequences. What it didn’t expect was for the lonely child who was its latest ‘master’ to wish for the genie to be their friend

Sudden headcanon: if Arthur Underwood had been alive in book two, he would have hated Nathaniel's style even more than Bartimaeus did

Sometimes I think about how the story begins with an ambitious and unrecognized child dreaming of power and strength, and ends with a boy who has achieved a power that no wizard in history has ever had.
And he knows it doesn't matter, because in a few seconds an explosion will tear him apart.

The plot of "The Amulet of Samarkand" begins in a house where Nathaniel was not believed in, where all his efforts and ambitions were devalued. In a house where he was destined for the untalented fate of a "errand boy", working off his "duty" to his mentor.
The plot of "The Amulet of Samarkand" ends in the house where Nathaniel's talent is about to be properly realized. A home where he is prophesied to have a great future and untold power.

Well, old Makepeace knew his stuff. A revolution in the theater is an impressive spectacle.

Nathaniel, turning to Lockwood: So child labor is exploited in your country? It's horrible and totally unacceptable, once the authorities let it happen! Kitty, cutting into the dialog: there is child trafficking in OUR country. How about this?

I had thoughts about Stroud's children
Edit :
Maybe what we need is a Summer Camp AU with the rest of the characters too

Okay, was analysing favourite scenes from the trilogy today. On first read (I very hardcore decided to start reading from the last book) the top 3 included scenes about Kitty learning magic because:
a) Isn't that almost illegal? As a 12-year-old girl, I thought it was hot to find access to forbidden knowledge kept secret by the state. I still hold the same opinion now.
b) Kitty was so studious!!! Admirable. She set herself a clear goal and stuck to it to the very end, searching for answers to her questions. Wow!!!
c) Kitty showed such amazing powers of observation by betting on the boy whose appearance Bartimaeus takes on. She poked her finger in the sky and didn't miss. Amazing girl.

I can't understand why wizards send spirits of Other Place in pentacles, if this spell can be cast without entering the pentacle???? Does anyone know why this happens? I would be grateful if someone could tell me :)))),
