I had the privilege of not working as a teen, to not sell my youth to some creepy old restaurant manager who would have made me work for hush money with no contract for 12 hours a day I never met this beast before, just saw it attack loved ones and others, but now it's gettin closer to me

Its eyes upon me, already feasting on its next meal, the next soul to be turned to profit for its owners

As I stare in it's dark eyes, I loose hope

I dont have what it takes to fight it, i don't have the right mindset to accept it

I'm too docile to be a revolutionary, too radical to be a liberal

Too socially akward to be an organizer, too lazy to join a movement

Too scientific to be a Christian, too Christian to wait for the Messiah

Too scared to let it devour me, too tired to fight back

I can't find a beatles page to send this ask to so i'm gonna write it here for the 4 people that follow me cause of beatles related stuff

Couple of days ago i started reading "All About Love" by bell hooks and, in there, there's this definition of love

The will to extend one's self for the purpose of nurturing one's own or another's spiritual growth

When i saw this definition my mind flew to the beatles and now im gonna poorly explain why

i'd say this definition sticks to the beatles in the way the 4 of them percieved THE BEATLES as it's own thing. i also see diffrent periods and diffrent ways this love for THE BEATLES was present and given from the 4 to the band/concept

I clearly see in the Moptop years this action of "excenting one self" for the growth of THE BEATLES. It's not strange that it's from this period that the "4 headed monster" analogy comes from. The first dissillusioment arrives around 64/65 with the touring first and then with the use of LSD. i'd say the use of the drug made the 4 (John and George first) "fall into themselves" as in realizing that they're singular individuals and not just a part of this bigger concept. It's from this period (from BEATLES FOR SALE) that we see the 4, especially John, look more into themselves to write songs

The psychedelic period (from 65 to 67) i'd say its the moment where there's a balance between the 4 and THE BEATLES. The cooncept is still up there, still getting love from the 4 but the 4 are starting to love themselves too: George dives fully in his interest about Indian music and culture, Paul writes scores for movies, John is in a movie, Ringo idk much sorry

WIth the trip in india i think what happend in 64/65 happens again. imo, the combination of meditaion and being away from their home country, made so that there was a break between the 4 and THE BEATLES. imo george and john after the trip, wanted to switch the "flow of love" from THE BEATLES to the individual parts. George wants to be recognized as an established songwriter and an equal to J&P, John wants to have (again imo) Paul's love directed to him and not "the concept". That's why we have the infamous tense relations goin on from now till the end of the band between Paul and George+John. The latter 2 want to change the flow of love, while Paul is still very much keepin that attention and love flowing to the THE BEATLES

I talk about love here cause i feel that's what i feel the 4 felt for THE BEATLES throughout the years. The change is when (at least) 2 of the 4 want to have some of that love that was just given to the concept, for themselves too (rightfully so id say)

The end of the band wasn't the end of THE BEATLES and the 4 reacted in diffrent ways to this breakup: John was super bitter about it in the early 70, Paul wouldn't play a single Beatles' song till 75, George (even toh he mentioned the band in Living in The Material World + writing a full song about the band in the 80s) distances himself too from it and Ringo says he was angry for years cause of the brake up (i just googled this so dont take my words as gold)

I love the man, but his and Engels critiques of anarchism feel they can just be applied to Proudhon style anarchism, since it was the mainstream model of anarchism. Your average today anarchist is WAAAAAY more different than Proudhon

Becoming increasingly obvious to me that most MLs on Tumblr have only ever perceived anarchism through the lens of left liberals describing themselves as anarchists and not through, you know, any serious anarchist literature and critique of class structures formed in states and the devolution of production on an as-needs basis. Hello, Kropotkin is right there on the first shelf, we've got a store of third world anarchist authors on the second right. Pick up a few books and start reading.

One of the things that I like about Tumblr as a Beatles fan is that some days I'm in my bathroom, sittin on the toilet doing my thing, I go on the most trending list or whatever it's name, and I see the Beatles trending out of nowhere and I'm like "damn...good for them" as if they were 4 dudes I went to high school with and somehow made it big

Since this blog basically became a smosh blog, let's talk about the latest smosh games video

I wanna preface this by sayin that I enjoyed this video and I'm looking forward for the series. Using Jenga as a tool to decide the various actions a character can take, is very cool and also very intuitive, I imagine, for those that don't know much about DnD (as a dnd player myself many times I was puzzled during sword af on why a 14 caused such an outcome instead of another). It also matches the vibe of the series since it's a post-apocaliptic scenario where every step you take can be the last one

I saw already some people saying "wait...why is this getting the video format but not SwordAF?" and I totally agree with that. I whole heartedly believe that SwordAF was done a disservice by being relegated by just audio especially because everyone (maybe except shayne) use a lot of body language to express what their characters feel/do/want etc...I mean, Koda literally slices people by dancing so

This is gonna be the unpopular opinion corner (I think). Let's preface by sayin that I'm not a Damien girlie (boyo in my case?) so I don't have that bias that probably some people have here on Tumblr. Also, I don't hate him either so there's that too

With that out of the way, i feel that having another DM other than Damien for this series is a good thing. What I noticed listening to SwordAF is that Damien as a DM tends to jump into the situation while its happening so to make a joke or to make laugh his co workers. This makes sense, he's playing with his buddies so it's understandable that he wants to jump in and riff with them, but, in my opinion, that steals some magic away from the characters and from the narrative wich is something that, in the new series, would be a downside since most of it is based on suspense (and we're also seeing new characters for the first time so leaving them be freely flashes them out better)

Also, let's not speculate much on the behind the scenes. It seems weird and we don't have the full picture. I'm sayin this cause I saw comments like that can be summarized with "why is Spencer here but not Damien" implying there is an animosity between the 2

Being a DM is hard, so I wouldn't be surprised if Damien just straight up refused the gig

The fact that there is no smosh video today made me go "why am I not watching smosh rn, it's past 7pm, the video is out!" moments and then immediately realizing that they're takin a break this week

I 100% agree! Between the roast and the sitcom, the latter wins! I think that the roast suffered for all the publicity and hype they built around it! I genuinely believe that the live streams buildin up to the roast had more iconic moments (except the half way song break ofc) than the roast itself!

When the live streams for this live started I was like "yea, it's gonna be a silly live show but not memorable like the roast" but then it wasn't!! It was incredible!
