“I hope you know what you have gotten us into,” Fergus murmured in her ear.

“Sure,” Marsali replied as she stared unblinkingly at the archway Mr. Fraser had disappeared into. Sure, things had snowballed and were threatening to get out of control in less than a day. And sure, she hadn’t thought beyond their initial announcement and the thought of Sunday night was already starting to make her panic.

But, there was no going back now… Right?

Faced with the prospect of her mother setting her up on a date with yet another man she doesn’t know (and certainly isn’t going to like), Marsali announces she’s handfasted to Fergus Fraser of Lallybroch. Now all she needs to do is convince said Scotch Thistle Inn co-worker to play along and then, together, convince those around them it’s more than a passing folly long enough for her to escape this small town once and for all.

This fic fills the Didn't Know They Were Dating square on my second @outlanderbingo card, for my first bingo on this card (updated below the cut).

Title: Uncut Brethren Pairing: Jamie/Lord John Rated: E Summary: When Twelvetrees called Lord John Grey and Jamie Fraser bedfellows, the accusation was not entirely without merit.

Set at the end of The Scottish Prisoner, in that part of the book I would have tagged "Didn't know they were dating." Excerpt:

“I am a terrible swimmer,” Grey said at last.

Fraser stared at him, then laughed.

“What?” Grey demanded, sudden defensiveness raising his voice even though he smiled. “Was that not what you wanted? You didn’t know that. Besides, I’ll bet you couldn’t do better.”

“The phone we pulled off the hostage? We answered it.”

Dread slid into the pit of Fraser’s stomach. “Who was on the other end?”

Joe shook his head, lips pursed into a frown. “Don’t know yet. All they said was your name. The phone’s locked, we can’t call out from it. We’ll have to wait for them to make contact again.”

Every single incident he’d ever worked ran through Jamie’s mind like a bullet train. Who’d recently gotten out of prison that he’d helped to lock up? Who may have had connections to terrorist organizations? Who had gotten away and was dumb enough to leave the relative safety of non-extradition countries? Infuriatingly, he drew a blank. “I need to call my boss. Have ye got a secure line I can use?”

“Fergus?”

“Our Fergus?” Jamie repeated. “Wed to Marsali and father of three children, Fergus?”

Claire pulled a face, the kind Fergus had seen her make at all the little ones that resided at Fraser’s Ridge at various points in time, before looking out the corner of her eye at Jamie in amusement. “Yes.”

“I think I’m going to need that cup of tea now, Sassenach.”

Fergus goes through the stones but comes straight back to his current time… as his one-year-old self, giving Jamie and Claire the chance to provide him with the loving care he so desperately needs. Set during Book 6: A Breath of Snow And Ashes.

This story takes place between Seasons 5 and 6 and/or during Book 6: A Breath of Snow And Ashes, prior to the birth of Fergus and Marsali’s fourth child Henri-Christian, when Fergus was well known for leaving Fraser’s Ridge for days on end. I’m hoping that spending some time being looked after by Jamie and Claire (read: snuggled and cuddled and held really tight) will prevent That Event™ in Ch 64, I Am The Resurrection Part 2 of ABOSAA. Wishful thinking, but here we are: de-aged Fergus.

Die for This Kingdom Timestamp # 2: Annalise

I’ve been wanting to write this fic for a while, and Femslash February seemed like a good time to do that.

Please note: This story can function independent of the series, however I have tagged it in context of the full series, which was challenging. Jamie/Claire is tagged specifically because they are still married for the duration of this story, even though Jamie does not appear. I don’t really feel great about that (or about tagging it for infidelity, again, on a technicality) I’m trying to err on the side of too much info.

Title: (Die for This Kingdom) Timestamp #2: Annalise Pairing: Claire/Annalise (Jamie/Claire on a technicality) Rating: M (references violent themes consistent with the AU and includes not-very-explicit sexual content) Summary: Claire is left pregnant and frightened when Jamie is arrested for a bogus murder charge. But then Annalise shows up unannounced because that's what friends do. Except to Claire, this doesn't feel like friendship, and feels like the start of a lot more. Excerpt:

Annalise had a smile ready, but one look at Claire and it was gone. “Oh, you poor thing.” She barged right on inside, shutting the door behind her and locking it, taking the shotgun from Claire’s hand and propping it against the wall. Then her arms were around her, and Claire was breathing in the rosy smell of the perfume on her dress, the baby kicking at both of them furiously for the audacity of squishing him.

“I’m so sorry I wasn’t here earlier, I only just heard.” Annalise broke off the hug but kept an arm around Claire, her hand on her back protectively. “Have you heard from him?”

The edge of Fergus’s top wool blanket lying on the floor caught Murtagh’s eye. 

Honestly. 

He reached over and pointedly adjusted the blanket so that it not only was on the bed it also covered Fergus’s shoulders. 

Fergus looked up at him, eyes glassy and mumbled something unintelligible though undoubtedly stupid.

“Rach a chadal,” Murtagh demanded, sleep now. Then, after he had settled back down and the boy had blessedly fallen silent, he added much more softly, “I’ll keep watch.”

While Jamie and Claire are off trying to convince Old Fox to join the war effort, Fergus has been left in the care of one Murtagh Fitzgibbons Fraser. Luckily, Murtagh doesn’t need to be a genius to see that Fergus isn’t sleeping… or to set things to rights.

Summary: That first day had been absolute chaos. Then things had settled. Humans had a remarkable capability to adapt to new circumstances and it became clear after about a week that this was indeed not going away. At first, information had been scarce. One week later and there was a theory about the nature of the curse. The theory stated that those who had made a great mistake in love would be returned to the age of when they made said mistake. Supposedly this was so the afflicted person could correct this mistake with their lover, who would also be similarly affected as the curse needed both people to be in the area of the curse for it to take effect. When they resolve the mistake one of two things would happen. If the resolution means they reconcile, they will stay young and age from there on, together. If they do not reconcile but resolve the mistake, they will be returned to their previous age. And if neither of those things happened… Lord John hadn't been able to find an answer, but the general consensus was that it would not be good.

Lord John had a sinking suspicion of what mistake he could have made. He also knew that if he was correct, there was no happy ending to be found.
