I have been a silent watcher in many witchcraft areas. At times, I've preferred to be a simple fly on the wall, listening and watching. Now, there something I've noticed and I find it disgusting.

This whole idea of gatekeeping/bad mouthing the entities and deities people work with.

I've noticed that in some circles, some people take a great offense if someone worships/works with a being that they too work with. It's almost like these are ancient beings and they want to work with multiple people.

Stop the fucking presses.

Now, I'm going to say something that may blow the minds of some people, two people can worship and work with the same god. Hell, their way of doing so may be completely different.

I've said it before, I mostly work with the Norse pantheon. I'll use Odin as an example.

The way I work with Odin can be completely different than how someone else works with Odin. And I have no qualms with that. If Odin wishes to accept and answer, that's on Odin. Who am I to question him?

But there seems to be this almost holier than thou mentality spreading through some circles where there can be only one follow. And that follow is apparently the fucking messiah for that god.

Here's a hard reality check, you aren't.

Yes, it's nice when a god picks to work with you. But that doesn't make you THE follower of that god. Accept the fact that there will be others.

So, I went on this rant to simply let people know, don't let others dictate who you work with. If working with Zeus has given you peace, then work with Zeus.

If you worship Hekate and she has helped you, I am happy for you.

None of us have room to judge what another practitioner does. So, if you are one of those people, get that stick out of your ass.

Quick Witchy Reminder!

As the new year rings within the next couple days, don't forget that there are a few things you can do to invite positivity and manifestation for the new year to come!

Such activities include (but are not limited to)

Sprinkling/blowing cinnamon through the main entry doors of your house (like front or back)! This ritual isn't just for the new year but also used for the first of every month to attract wealth, prosperity, and positive energy into the home.

Cleaning out your closets and donating unwanted clothing to a charity! This ritual helps clean out the year before and makes room for the new and exciting changes the new year will bring!

Lastly on the list [but certainly not the last thing you can do] is to create a "vision board", either physically or mentally, of the things you wish for the new year to bring to you!

Here's a couple things NOT to do as the new year rings:

Washing laundry. This is commonly thought to "wash away" the stored good luck and positivity that your home holds. It's also believed in some cultures that doing this "washes away" a loved one.

Showering/Washing/Cutting your hair! This is believed to be washing your fortune away and dramatically reducing chances of prosperity in the year ahead. Dry shampoo and dusting powder are fairly common items to "replace" showering and washing your hair for the 1st of the new year.

what are some good spells? what makes a good spell? can you make your own spell? what do you need to properly create a spell?

What are some good spells?

A: So all of my "spells" are typically put into jars 😅 But the ones I've used are generally protection spells or self-improvement spells (such as learning to love yourself more or learning how to recognize better opportunities). Outside of that, I would never suggest using love spells on anyone lmao Those are like genies, you get what you want but never how you wanted it.

What makes a good spell?

A: In terms of morality? Anything that doesn't bring harm or negative intent upon others lmao In terms of effectiveness? The intent is truly the most important part of any magickwork. If your intent is strong enough (and you put forth the physical effort as well) then your spell should be relatively effective.

Can you make your own spell?

A: Absolutely! I've done it many times! It all comes down to preparation, intent, and research.

What do you need to properly create a spell?

A: Research and materials. Bear with me now😂 So in a vague sense, since there wasn't a specific spell type mentioned, you'd need the proper materials and the correct research followed by intent. So, for instance, a spell for monetary prosperity (money gains) would require green materials such as candles, actual dollar bills, crystals (such as Malachite or Jade), with the proper research how money spells are meant to be used followed by the proper intent (meaning don't try to use a money spell with intent of self love lmao)

A lot of Wicca/Pagan/Witchcraft in general relies on a lot of research and reading...and a lot of trial and error 😅 But my advice with spells? Start small; work some protection spells or work on spell jars (easier to contain the spell) until you feel more comfortable. And if you find a spell online (such as tumblr or TikTok), I cannot stress this enough, do research on it before actually doing it! You can't always trust that a spell has good intent when found online lmao
