Why does Kris open the front door?

At the end of Deltarune Chapter 2, we see Kris rip out the player’s soul for a second time that night, shove us into the couch, and get up and open the front door.

They turn on the TV, go to the center of the room, and— using their own Determination— open a fucking Dark Fountain.

We can infer that this is what they’re doing based on dialogue from Queen and Susie. Also we can use common sense based on context. Queen says that anyone with Determination can create a Fountain. Susie, still not knowing what both we as the player, and Kris know, say that it would be cool if Ralsei and Lancer could come and hang out with them— maybe even go to school with them.

Kris takes this to heart and wants this very much, and decides that the only way for that to happen, is if they open their own Dark Fountain.

So… Why do they open the door?

Well, the previous fountains have been in closed rooms. The closet, the old classroom, and the computer room. So, what would happen if you open one in a place… that’s not closed? Would the Darkness continue to spread until it reaches a barrier of some kind?

I propose that Kris is trying to cover the entire town in Darkness. They know Darkners can’t actually come to the Lightworld. So they decided to create a giant Darkworld over the town so that they never have to leave their new friends ever again… They can’t bring Darkners to their current reality… So why not make Darkness their new reality?

I guarantee I’m not the first person to think about this, but I couldn’t not make a post about it. I would’ve combusted— hdjfjd
