Hello there! Starting a reread of Over The Moon over on Ao3, and found your tumblr (honestly not sure how I missed it the first time…), and came over to say hi. Also, you’re an extremely good writer (your story, character, and worldbuilding changes are SO INTERESTING). Great job on what you’ve written so far, and I hope you’ll enjoy it if/when you decide to continue it!

And yeah!! I recognize your username. It's a delight that you're reaching out! I am still working on the fic (I really love the story, honestly) but my Kinkajou chapter wasn't giving me much to work with. I'm rewriting it currently, though art fight is taking most of my creative attention.

It's a little bit of a fight to not start the whole story from scratch now that I understand my characters, world, and story goals better, but I'm settling for Kinkajou's chapter.

Well I did just reblog a bunch about it but here is my personalized pitch to you:

It has beautiful set design!!! It's the White house, obv, but they built miniature sets so they can zoom in and out and the attention to each detail is stunning!

(On the note of details, they do make little mistakes. Dad noted that the nice chef knives are normal people nice knives, not professional nice chef knives. Also, they tried to claim a random brown "falcon" was a nighthawk. That's not how nighthawks are shaped. If you're familiar with the actual white house you'd probably catch mistakes, is what I'm saying. No one I watched with is familiar with the actual white house)

Still, the set is beautiful and utilized well. It's also well lit and clearly communicated. At any point in time you can clearly tell what's going on (though only through the lens of the character who's saying it, which is to say unreliable!)

The mystery is fun to follow along with, and Detective Cupp communicates each conclusion and how she made it. Beyond that, she's surrounded by eccentric Characters many of whom might've committed the murder. Also all of them lie. CONSTANTLY. Not even for murder related reasons!!! One woman tells several different stories trying to hide how drunk she got while the murder was going on. Queen WHAT

It's got quite the diverse cast, if that's a particular draw to you. It reads very purposeful to me, though others are welcome to dispute that. I think it helps that the residence's (the location) staff are all shown to have complex, incredibly compelling lives so the majority of them being poc reads to me as subtle societal commentary, especially given the show's conclusion.

Also, Cordelia is just SUCH A FUN CHARACTER!!!! I'd tell you in depth what delights me about her, but I think it's fun to experience her story with the mystery! She's generally blank faced and she's apathetic towards anything not of interest but she's so kind in her own way to people who she cares about.

I'm sure I could find more delightful things about it but I really don't want to spoil anything. It's on netflix but if you don't have it I can try and find you a pirated link

YOU would love Cordelia Cupp from The Residence. Not as much as Joel (who I will get around to drawing soon I promise) but I think you'd find her charming and the mystery delightful

I need to debate Coriolanus Snow...... he's so deeply wrong on so many things and I could break his logic with just a few questions but I NEED to know his response. When he's genuinely, intellectually challenged, how will he defend Dr Gaul's theories about humans? Can he change his mind? How much willful ignorance is he willing to partake in and claim he's intelligent?

I need to know more about his stupid perspective on the world because he is so incredibly wrong on so many things it drives me crazy.

I'm not saying I would win, or successfully convince him of anything, but I wanna TRY, y'know? I know so much about him that I could make some really compelling points if given a chance
