Study in Australia: When should you renew your passport?
Are you getting ready to study in Australia?
Have you accepted your offer and started looking at your predeparture checklist?
Well, one of the most common questions we receive is, “Do I renew my passport now and wait to apply for my visa, or do I apply for my visa now with my current passport?”
If your passport is valid for the duration of your first semester, there is nothing for you to do now. You can apply for your student visa and travel with your current passport. You will need to complete your renewal when you get to Australia.

Australian post-study work visa
If you’ve been studying in Australia—or will be—you know that the time will come when you must come back home to Canada.
The Australian Government recognizes the hard work students put into their studies, and offers a post-study work visa to eligible graduates so they may stay in Australia a little longer.
Wait—what? Stay in Australia longer? Yes, that’s right. If you’re studying in Australia, you may be eligible to apply for another visa in order to stay in Australia for up to 4 years, depending on the visa stream.

University isn’t cheap, especially when you aren’t living at home anymore or you’re an international student. Tuition, additional fees, living expenses. It adds up.
Yes, there are sometimes scholarships, but these are often few and far between. A part-time job, however, isn’t as difficult to obtain.

What do university rankings really mean?
Rankings, rankings, rankings
“So, what is the best <insert program> school?”
What is the medical school?
What is the best physio program?
What is the best law school?
This question is asked of our team dozens, perhaps hundreds, of times a year. If the questions come directly to me, I think my face may betray me with a bit of a grimace.
First, my quick response is “by what measure?”Learn more about your program options at Australian universities
There are many, many different ranking systems: QS World University Rankings, Times Higher Education (THE), Centre for World University Ranking (CWRU), Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU). There are small—sometimes large—variations across these systems.
Next, you can get into graduate success outcomes, student experience rankings, program-specific rankings, university size, and age-based rankings.
The list does, quite literally, go on.
But what should rankings mean to you?
