50 FIRST DATES (kind of) AU IN WHICH VIKTOR AND YUURI ARE ALREADY MARRIED BUT VIKTOR FORGETS HIS WHOLE DAY EVERYTIME HE GOES TO SLEEP
Viktor and Yuuri are married and the Olympics are happening. Viktor suffers an accident that leads to a concussion and has to withdraw from the competition. Besides the headache that feels like hell, everything seems just fine at first, but when the medication starts to wear off, the doctors notice Viktor is suffering from amnesia. He remembers almost nothing prior to the day of the accident.
He knows his name is Viktor and he is Russian, but doesn’t know what he does for a living. He knows he suffered an accident, but doesn’t know why. He remembers some people, but isn’t exactly sure about what they mean in his life. Basically, the only thing he remembers clearly is Makkachin.
He remembers the Russian team, Chris and even Otabek, but when he sees the golden ring on his finger, he looks up to Yakov to ask what is that. When they bring Yuuri in, he asks “Who’s that?”. He doesn’t remember being married. He doesn’t know Yuuri anymore.
At first, Yuuri is completely crushed by the way the person he loves the most doesn’t remember him or anything they’ve been through (which was, honestly, a lot). It’s like his world had just crashed down and he has no idea what to do because he’s never been through that in his life and it just becomes overwhelming and his anxiety gets the best of him. That goes on until Yuri, the Russian, gives him a reality crash. This is not about him, this is about Viktor and Viktor needs him the most. So he has to deal with the aftermath.
Besides not remembering Yuuri, everytime Viktor goes to sleep, he forgets what happened on the past day. So everyday is like the first time. For the both of them. Yuuri learns quickly that there are the good days - in which Viktor wakes up confused, but will listen closely to everything Yuuri has to say - but there are also the bad days - in which Yuuri usually wakes up to Viktor yelling at him or even calling the police because he thinks a pervert broke into his house. Every day is new, and Yuuri has to come up with new ways to explain Viktor’s whole life to him over and over again.
Nobody said it was easy, nobody said it was this hard, but Yuuri never thought about giving up. Not even once.
(long story short: it’s just viktuuri trying to lead their domestic life after viktor lost his memory - i know i talk too much, i’m sorry)

i can totally picture yuri blasting teenagers by mcr at full volume and screaming the lyrics with all his will while vacuuming the house
when yurio does chores he jams out on his headphones (to make it more bearable) and sometimes he gets a little carried away. jump to him cleaning his room in hasetsu, belting out lyrics to, like, mcr or some shit, and yuuri walks in on him. only yuuri thinks it’s the cutest thing ever so he slyly closes the door and drags viktor over to watch their son through the cracked door. but ofc viktor blows their cover, squealing in delight, yuuri’s like “vitya! shh!” and yurio just starts screaming.
also yurio:

BEAUTY AND THE BEAST AU IN WHICH PHICHIT IS BELLE AND SEUNGGIL IS THE BEAST
I couldn’t stop thinking about this the last few days, so... Phichit is a sweet village boy who works a lot to help his mother, who’s too sick to work. One day, she goes to a farm to pick up some vegetables and gets kidnapped on her way back home. Phichit notices she’s missing and goes looking for her, only to find the vegetables she was supposed to bring home on an awkward trail that takes him to a castle. There, he is greeted by a lot of talking furniture and tells them who he’s looking for, but they tell him to go away before Prince Seunggil finds out he’s there, but it’s too late. He then meets Prince Seunggil, a beast-looking creature who refuses to give Phichit’s mother back, as she is his hope to break the spell. Phichit then offers himself as a hostage to let his mother free. After being convinced by his talking furniture, Seunggil accepts it. And in the beginning, Phichit hates Seunggil, but as he grows to know him, and with the help of the talking furniture, he starts liking Seunggil and decides to help him break the spell (and falls in love with him in the process)

Posting this again because I changed the summary.
This fanfiction is based on Lemonade, by Beyoncé. It’s my first YoI fic ever and I finally gathered the strength to post it. It’s from Yuuri’s point of view and that’s all I can say without giving away spoilers!!
Summary: I had my ups and downs, but I always find my inner strength to pull myself up. I was served lemons, but I made lemonade. My grandma said “nothing real can be threatened”. True love brought salvation back into me. With every tear came redemption and my torturers became my remedy. So we’re gonna heal. We’re gonna start again.

A little (or not so little) something about Lilia Baranovskaya!
I've been thinking really deeply about some characters lately and I just can't keep it to myself. So buckle up! Today we're gonna talk about Lilia Baranovskaya.
First of all: general information. Lilia Baranovskaya is a russian Ballet teacher and former Prima Ballerina from the Bolshoi Ballet, which is nothing less than the best Ballet company in the world. You might be asking yourself what is this Prima Ballerina thing that is often mentioned on the show, and even though I'm not well versed in ballet (despite having practiced it in my childhood), I'll try my best to explain. A Prima Ballerina is a title given to the most exceptional ballet dancers of a generation - those who are more than above average, the leading ballerina between leading ballerinas in a company. We can already tell from this that Lilia is a total badass. She was the best ballerinas out of all ballerinas in the best ballet company in the world.
At first sight, she looks absolutely scary and probably remind you of the most strict teacher you've ever had in your life, who kept telling you to sit straight and pay attention all the time, even though you were already doing those things. As a former professional ballerina, she has great posture, and despite the scary look on her eyes part, she's very elegant and moves gracefully - which is also probably a product from her professional ballerina years. One thing we can tell from the beginning, though, whether it's because her looks or the way she presents herself, is that she's a very strong woman.
I could spend days talking about my philosophic views on ballerinas, but I'll try to keep it simple. Ballerinas are most known for their grace, but their strength - both physical and emotional - is also a remarkable trait. When we watch their performances, we keep thinking about the way they can make all those movements seem flawless and graceful, but if you google ballerina feet, you'll be shocked at what they have to endure to reach that. Besides that, like any other sport, Ballet has all this thing going on about making the best out of yourself and trying to push your own limits to bloom into something better, more graceful, more flawless, the closest you can of being perfect. Teachers are often strict and dancers (not only ballerinas) tend to be way too harsh on themselves. They work really hard even when discouraged, and this is also a very nice point. They learn how to endure pain to make the best out of themselves. For ballerinas, especially, pain is part of the process. You cannot run from it, so you just learn how to deal with that. That makes them strong on both sides. Now think about Lilia. She was not only a ballerina, but the most important ballerina on her company - which is the best in the world. To achieve this status, she had to struggle really hard. She knows exactly what it is to go through pain, but she also knows that it is necessary and it's only gonna be worse if you let it take over you. She probably learned from a very young age that if she really wanted what she was aiming for, she had to be strong. And it shows.
It shows from the beginning, in every single thing she says. When she walks in and tells Yakov that she will leave if she doesn't like the person, you can see she's very opinionated. She has her beliefs and what she thinks it's right and will not let anyone take that away from her. One of the first things she says to Yuri is that she'll turn him into a Prima Ballerina if he's willing to sell his soul to win. And his response is probably what makes them get along. Because she probably sees herself in him. She knows that it will take more than just extra classes for him to achieve what he wants. Just like it was to her.
We can tell from all her quotes that she is also very wise. Even though she probably has academic degrees, her knowledge doesn't come from books and papers. It comes from life, from her life and everything she's been through. And even though she's so underrated, her quotes are one of the best things in the show.
"Throw yourself away! Your past self is dead! People who can 'reborn' as many times as necessary are the strong ones". She probably had to give up a lot in Lilia Baranovskaya to become the Prima Ballerina of the Bolshoi Ballet. Her path sure wasn't easy, and she probably had to accept a lot of things and shape herself to the situation she was living so she wouldn't suffer more than necessary. In her own way, she learn how to shapeshift her emotions. And dealing with that made her strong.
"People shine brightest when they seek to understand what kind of love sustains them". Even though the first one is my favorite, this one also gets to me. Just like Yuri did, she probably had her doubts and insecurities in her early years. While trying to make the best out of herself and her skills, she probably thought about why she was doing it for, what was worth it to do it for. And due to the status she achieved, she sure understand about shining. She probably found her inner strength and became the amazing professional she is after working hard enough to understand those questions. With that in mind, nothing could stop her.
I've already said that, but I'm saying this again: She probably sees a lot of herself in Yuri. She understands him in a personal level, but she has lived and gone through enough to know exactly in which parts of himself he has to work more. That's why she becomes like a mother figure to him. She respects him as a personal and a professional and doesn't put him in anyone's shadow 'cause she knows better than anyone that he only needs himself to shine. That's also why she's so strict when it comes to their classes, but will also always be there for him.
She's one of the most strong characters on the show. And even though I understand why she's underrated - she's not a major character, after all - I think we should really work on taking that down, because contrary to popular belief, Yuuri and Viktor are not the most important people on Yuri's character development. It's Lilia and Yakov. Plus, she has the greatest quotes ever.
She's beauty, she's grace, and she'll punch you in the face.

Viktor: Come on, I didn't drink that much last night.
Mari: You were flirting with Yuuri.
Viktor: So what? He's my husband.
Mari: You asked him if he was single.
Mari: And started crying when he said he wasn't.

3.) When Otabek gets drunk he'll sing and try to slow dance with Yuri in the kitchen. Yuri tolerates this because his voice is so nice to listen to EXCUSE ME WHILE I CRY IN A CORNER. i can picture Yuri trying to get away at first Otabek let go of me for fuck sake and then when Otabek starts to sing softly into Yuri's ears there no running away and it feels nice so he wraps his arm around Otabek's waist and just follow his lead.
yes!! otabek mostly does this when he’s drunk, but when he knows yuri is sad or upset, he’ll hum in his ear and hold him, picking songs that remind him most of yuri. his voice soothes yuri like nothing else, even if yuri pretends to be exasperated with the dancing :’)
thank u so much for this <3<3<3

AU BASED ON PUSHING DAISIES WHERE VIKTOR HAS THE POWER TO BRING PEOPLE BACK TO LIFE BUT IF HE TOUCHES THEM AGAIN THEY DIE PERMANENTLY
one day he meets this boy yuuri who gets mistakenly shot by a gang on the street and viktor brings him back; they end up falling in love but they will never be able to touch or else yuuri is gonna die and viktor will not be able to bring him back - at first yuuri thinks viktor is just really shy and touching so soon is too much for him, so he respects it, but as time goes on, yuuri starts to think there’s something wrong about himself; maybe he’s not enough for viktor to physically desire, maybe he just mistook viktor’s friendship and good intentions for love; maybe viktor thinks there’s something wrong with him - but he knows he has to accept it, he knows he can’t force viktor to love him, but it just hurts SO much and he doesn’t know what to do
viktor notices yuuri is growing distant; he’s not calling anymore, not coming to see viktor after work, declining all his invitations and it scares him so much ‘cause he loves that boy more than he has ever loved anyone before, but there’s nothing much he can do about his power - so he decides to talk to yuuri and at first yuuri is hesitant, he doesn’t want to bother viktor, he doesn’t want viktor to pity him, but viktor doesn’t give up and yuuri eventually tells him what’s happening, so viktor tells him the truth and even brings him somewhere he can prove it (bc who would actually believe he has a power to bring people back to life)
yuuri is amazed, relieved but also sad - he can live side by side with viktor, but they will never be able to touch, they will never be able to hold hands or give eachother a hug, not even the slightest touch; then yuuri blurts out, his eyes filled with tears “maybe you shouldn’t have saved me, you’d be able to live a happy life now”, to which viktor responds with “how could i possibly be happy without you by my side?”
and it hurts, it hurts like HELL, but they’re gonna work that out - because they’d rather be dead than being apart.

AU where Yuri is Viktor’s adoptive son and they have always been eachothers #1 companion ‘cause Yuri is not really good at making friends and Viktor never got married/doesn’t have time to make friends (except for that creepy swiss guy Chris who comes from time to time and insists Yuri calls him ‘uncle Chris’, but Yuri ain’t buying none of this shit). It goes like this until the day this japanese guy moves to the apartment next to them and Viktor just becomes too interested in him. One night, out of the blue, Viktor comes home from work with that guy by his side and goes like “Yuri, meet Yuuri, your new father!”. Yuri immediately goes like WTF and Viktor spits “We’re engaged”. Now, besides having reduced attention from his father, Yuri has to learn how to deal with that japanese guy who looks like a pig and has the same name as him.

Religion in YoI, a thread
While being a figure skating anime, YoI also pictures culture and its elements in a very nice way. Religion, to me, is a very important point in a culture, and looking from a sociological point of view, it's one of the three fundamental points on the social development, alongside family and school. I'm not a religious person myself, but as my family is a mixture between lots of religions (and lack of religion) I'm very interested in this topic. This thread doesn't mean to assume anything about the characters or the show, it's only for fun. I also don't mean to hurt or offend anyone. If something is wrong, you can come and tell me on twitter. If you wanna know more about x religion, you can also come and ask me, and I'll tell you if I know enough. That being said, let's go to the thread.
Yuuri
I really think Yuuri is Shinto. I don't know much about the religion, but he comes from a small town with a lot of ties to the past and the altar that is set up for Vicchan (as much as the way Yuuri goes to "greet" him, even though he is dead) could show that his family is somehow religious and makes it seem that they belong to a traditional japanese religion.
Viktor
Viktor, to me, is a big question mark. I've seen a lot of people who go with the idea that he might be an ashkenazi jew, but that just doesn't make sense to me. The fact that Viktor doesn't celebrate Christmas could come from: 1 - it's the same day as his birthday, 2 - Christmas in Russia is not celebrated in december, but in january, as the Orthodox Church follows a different calendar. He also eats a lot of katsudon, which is made with pork and as far as I know jewish people cannot eat pork 'cause it's not kosher (please correct me if I'm wrong). To me he's either orthodox or doesn't really have a religion. Actually, I think it's likely that he has no religion but ends up following some orthodox traditions 'cause that's what he grew up with in Russia. Anyway, he does believe in a God with unconditional love, as shown when he discusses "Agape" with Yuri.
Yuri
This might get a little controversial, but I think Yuri is not religious at all and this is something he just doesn't care about. He's way too focused on his skating and the only person he relays on is himself. To me, the hardship he faces while trying to find a meaning for "Agape" could also indicate that religion does not play a big part in his life. I feel like most religious people would think about God or faith while talking about agape - which is kind of a religious word itself. When Viktor mentions that he could never explain agape in words, 'cause that's a feeling, Yuri seems confused. Many people claim faith and God's unconditional love cannot be explained - if you're religious, you'll probably understand it without needing an explanation. That being said, I picture him as an agnostic. Not an atheist, 'cause he doesn't really care.
Otabek
To me, he's also a big question mark. While approximately 70% of the kazakh population is muslim and 26% in christian (mostly orthodox), the other 4% not specified, I think there's a high chance Otabek is, indeed, a muslim - but not as most people would think. As I saw it stated by a kazakh girl on tumblr, Islam in Kazakhstan is not the same as in the Middle East. Due to historical happenings, Islam is not really fully established there, and it's more of a mix between traditional Islam and local pagan traditions, which makes the religion different there and way more 'flexible', for you to understand. With that, I can totally picture Otabek fasting on Ramadan, not eating pork and helping the poor, but drinking, not praying exactly five times a day and not going to Mecca. Just like the "non-practicing" catholics, at least in Brazil.
Christophe
I don't know much about Switzerland, so I had to do some research on it and found out 70% of the population there are Christian, being divided into catholics and protestants from the Swiss Reformed Church. Even though that's the way it goes, I personally think Chris belongs to the 20% that doesn't belong to any religion. Just like everything in his life, he's way different from the regular people, and I just can't picture him being a catholic or a protestant with all the restraints and dogmatic stuff, especially being a free and sexual person like he is. That doesn't mean he doesn't believe in a God, though. I think he does. I think, just like Viktor, he belives in a God of unconditional love, who doesn't judge and punish. Religion is just not a big deal in his life, but his faith sure is.
Phichit
Most of the thai population is buddhist, and I don't think that's different for Phichit. Of course it has a lot to do with his personality, but I personally think the fact he's such a calm, relaxed and postive guy, even at such a young age, could have to do with his religion. He makes the best out of everything he does 'cause he knows he is responsible for his actions and will have to deal with their consequences later, and tries his best not to do things that he knows are bad for him or that will make him suffer, 'cause unnecessary suffering is a sickness to the soul. He tries his best to follow Buddha's sayings, and it's important to stress here that buddhists are not concerned if God exists or not - and contrary to popular belief, Buddha is not Buddhism's equivalent to God or Jesus.
JJ
Ok, so before I begin, I don't mean to offend anyone. Those are just my thoughts and I don't mean to hurt anyone with them. It is canon that JJ is a devout Christian, but not specified from which religion. I personally think he is a protestant. While the "no pre-marital sex", "pure relationship" thing is a choice anyone can make, even if not religious, I feel like it's something really popular and important among the protestant community, more than between catholics.
Michele/Sara
Being the "home" of the Vatican, religion played a big part in Italian history and the Roman Catholic Church is still big there. I think Micky and Sara are both catholics, and as most italian people, tradition is something important to them. I don't think they're in church every sunday (mostly because of their training and competitive schedule), but they value their faith and try to meet up their religious obligations as much as they can. They know what they can and cannot do, and they definitely take the "religious people are boring" stigma down. They live freely while meeting their religions obligations, which is absolutely cool.
