the answer r.e. reflections may be to use anti-reflection / anti-glare glass or acrylic, which is often used on artwork.

I don't know of an easy way to avoid reflections (aside from not putting in any glass, as you've done already).

Help! I have never taken pictures of framed art. When I tried it, I really struggled with the reflection on the glass. Right now, I frame my embroidery without the glass to take pictures and then frame them again with the glass.

How can I do this properly?
