Settling in - Part 2

Note: this post is kind of huge, since I decided to take on the bulk of my screenshots for this part.

From where I left off, my sims were starting to run a bit low on simoleons, so they had to start looking into ways to make a living. While Quiet focused on studying logic, Princess ventured out into the forest to find seeds for her garden.

She eventually ventured into the town's Big Park. Usually they're a good source of seeds, but what Princess found instead was tons and tons of flowers. She spent a couple hours just harvesting them. Sometimes a new flower would immediately pop up elsewhere the moment she picked one. After she had picked the park clean, she had about §1,000 worth of flowers in her basket. She would go on to regularly gather flowers here, but in the meantime she still had some time to kill so she decided to peruse the seasonal attractions.

It seemed she and Quiet weren't the only unusual characters living here... There were a few ghosts having an eating contest, and another ghost that had apparently been drifting around the rollerskating rink for actual days.

She eventually found a smack-a-gnome game, which... she was not very good at.

When she later arrived home, she saw that Quiet had bought a chessboard. Logic books could get pretty expensive, but there was no limit to how much they could learn from chess. It would be a great way for them to develop a useful skill, strengthen their bond, and have fun all at the same time. There was no room for it in the house unfourtunately, but at least they still had the outer roof to protect them from the weather.

Later, Quiet started on making goopy carbonara for dinner. He seems to have made himself quite at home in the kitchen.

Some days later, Quiet finally got a new job as a Ghost Hunter. He initially considered becoming a firefighter, but realized that his feathers would easily catch fire. He also happened to have some experience with ghosts, so he was a good fit for the job. Though... they did force him to wear some uncomfortable human shoes.

The next day, I got a nice shot of Quiet and Princess playing chess. I thought it was cool how they're playing matching colors but... Don't look too closely at the board. ^^;

One night when Quiet was doing some ghost hunting at the gypsy van lot, I saw some people picknicking.... In the middle of the night. During a full moon. On closer inspection, I think they might actually be zombies. I don't know which is funnier.

Going back to Princess, her garden is really kicking off. As her skills increase, she'll be able to plant even more of the seeds she finds in the wild.

I caught a tender moment between these two in the kitchen. I'm not sure if it's because of a mod I have installed, but they've actually started autonomously flirting with eachother every time I let them socialize on their own. They're (surprisingly) not a thing yet, but they probably will be sometime soon.

Honestly I would probably have my next sims post out by now but for some reason tumblr absolutely refuses to cooperate with uploading images. 😤

I keep trying and trying to add one image to the post, but then I try another image and it just goes.

Settling in - Part 1

This is the first picture I took on their arrival, so you know we're off to a good start. XD

The pair moved into a little house that's *just* big enough for the two them. It's kind of a glorified motorhome, but it should suit their needs for now. At present, they plan to lead a simple life - at last until they figure out how this new world works.

Not particularly exciting, but one of the first things they did was watch the gardening channel together for a while. I find that I get some of my best photos when two sims are socializing while watching tv.

I kinda forget where Quiet was going in this picture (possibly to a culinary class), but I kinda wanted to how off how well his wings animate. They're directly attached to his shoulderblades, so they actually move with him whenever he does stuff.

As is (my) tradition, Quiet made a salad for the first dinner in the new house. His blade may not be pristine, but it got the job done. (btw the reason why I always have my new sims make salads is because it's the one dish they can't possibly burn).

The two enjoyed the meal together, though the Princess's dress proved a bit cumbersome...

I was curious to see what would happen when Quiet got in the shower, and was not dissapointed. 😆

The two went to bed and then... Wait, THE HECK IS THAT DOOR?!

Why does it have windows??? Maybe the person who built this house copy-pasted the front door and forgot about it. (I also remember trying to grab it in build mode and it... actually kinda flew away while open for a second, and then went back to normal???)

Either way, Princess disapproves. I later replaced the door with a cheaper, non-windowed, non-haunted one.

I'm going to wrap up this post with a cute moment I caught. I have loads more pictures from my second play session, but I thought that would probably make for WAY too long of a post. So, I'm going to leave it here. Next time, Princess will discover a new hobby, and Quiet will get a new, very unusual job.

Slaying Simming the Princess

I finished playing the pristine cut update for Slay the Princess a while ago and thought to myself: what if I made these guys in the sims? And so I did. I guess this is where they ended up after the "And? What happens next?" ending. XD

I started on The Long Quiet first. I'll admit that his CC is pretty scuffed, but this is the best I could find. It really should not be this hard to find animal parts (that actually work) for a sims game that's been out for this long, but that's just how it is. 😤 I kept seeing these big, beautiful wings taunting me from ts4 the whole time I was cc hunting... I also gave him a long, pointy nose to replicate his beak, and I think it looks alright. I may shorten it in the future, but he does canonically have a pretty monstrous-looking face, so maybe I should just let him be a little ugly. I also think his expression and slight overbite are also kind of cute. ^^ As for his traits, I realized that LQ is actually meant to be sort of a blank slate for the player to project onto, so I picked his traits off of how I personally played him. I also gave him the "Natural Cook" trait since he's already proficient with a knife. XD

Princess was much easier to find CC for, but her anime facial proportions posed some challenges of their own. Knowing from past experience that you can't make anime eyes really work in ts3's artstyle, I tried to go more semi-realistic. I'm not totally satisfied with how her face turned out, but I think she at least looks pretty by normal human standards. I may go cc hunting for a more accurate hairstyle in the future as well. I gave her the "Loves the outdoors" trait since I figured she would appreciate being outside more after being confined for so long. Also, you can't see it with her dress, but I made it so that she's usually barefoot. I mean... in the game, you never once see her wearing shoes, so I figured that she just doesn't have 'em. 🤷‍♀️

So... that's all I have to say about these two for now. I'm going to move them into Moonlight falls, and may consider moving them to Dragon Valley later (after they scope it out with the traveler mod). I plan to post about their first days doing life together sometime soon. ^^

Catching up with the Darke family

So... about where I left off, the Darkes had a new addition to the family. They originally wanted a boy, but somehow ended up with a girl instead. Still, she was welcomed with open arms. Ayesha actually went into labor while she was in the hot tub, and ended up giving birth in her swimwear. They named their new daughter Sephora.

Several days later, Ayesha got pregnant again way sooner than they had planned, but they kept the baby anyways. He ended up being born in the new underground garden, so he was named Garth. He has the 'Eccentric' trait, so he'll most likely become an inventor when he gets older. I wonder what he'll create...?

Also, here's the garden I was talking about. Sunlight is pretty bad for my vampires, so I thought I'd move all the plasma fruit bushes underground. In a house that's mostly black and red, I think the bit of green is a really nice touch. 😊 The windows came from 'Roaring Twenties' btw.

My sims also adopted a puppy a while ago, and yesterday she finally grew to be an adult! Her name is Pennie, but I've been thinking of naming her something else. She has the independent trait, so she doesn't need much attention.

Sephora had her birthday only a few days after pennie grew up, and became a toddler. Going by her features, she seems to have inherited a lot from Damien, but she also has blonde hair, which is... interesting, considering both her parents have dark hair. I've heard that mutations can happen in this game, so that's most likely what happened.

The only photo I took from her birthday party is of Yumi Sekemoto going proper mental. I think she was simultaneously being freaked out by Damien (being the Emperor of Evil) and Bonehilda (a monster). I think she spent the whole party running around in terror but apparently she had a good time?

And then this guy showed up... Grandpa Gnome protests.

Apparently Gnomes also don't have a concept of privacy... I think he may have actually teleported in while Damien was in the bath.

Speaking of Damien, he really seems to enjoy caring for his kids. I've actually gone out of my way to have him teach Sephora how to walk and talk since he seems to be a lot more efficient at it.

And now... onto the reason why I decided to retire Bonehilda for a while. She just stands over the kids while they're trying to sleep and stares at them, which gets kinda annoying when the parents are trying to give them care. But... the last straw was when she would NOT STOP trying to teach Pennie tricks. I mean... her knowing how to sit and roll over is nice and all, but it was getting to the point where all her motives were getting low because Bonehilda just wouldn't let her rest.

And... that about wraps up my update.

I've been playing with my vampire sims again recently and there's so much stuff to write about. I've got a bunch of screenshots too so I'll have to make sure I include them in the update.

Also, Bonehilda is a menace. I'm hiring a regular maid. 😤

I've still been playing TS3 lately, but since I've been playing on my save with my self-insert sim, I haven't bothered to blog about it since... well, I'll admit I'm a little embarrassed. 😅 I don't think I really have a reason to be though. It's not like I'm making my sim do anything weird or anything. It's just been her living with her bestie from the future and helping him achieve his dreams by supporting him with her Culinary job (which I'll admit I just chose for the special fridge you get at lvl 10).

I think it's kind of funny how he has the 'technophobia' trait, but his lifetime wish is to reach the top of the Law Enforcement career - forensics branch... To get the most out of that job, he needs to get a technology degree. XD

Anyways, something I've realized after playing this game so much is that I tend to forget a ton of things that happened after I step away for a while. So... I guess maybe I should just document things just for me sometimes.

All my awkward Edgeworths (so far)

This is basically everything I DIDN'T post over the course of my Edgeworth save... Probably because these are the worst screenshots of him I have. XD

So... I decided to take my sim-self and dress up however I wanted. I ended up coming up with this outfit (+ some eyeliner since I've always wanted to try it).

I also decided to start a new game with my self-insert in Hidden Springs (since I love its environment) and I'm currently trying to build a house from scratch.

I'm also trying to figure out who I should have my sim marry this time. I'm probably going to have her try to find someone among the pre-made sims, but I also wonder if I could introduce a fictional character into the town and have them meet? 🤔 (If I do it'll probably be Phoenix Wright *cough*) Still... I'll admit it's kinda hard imagining my sim being with anyone else besides Cole... 😔

I think it's kind of funny how in TS3 you can't make your sim strictly heterosexual, but what you can do is open up NRAAS and set their gender preference for the same gender -999999 or something. XD

I actually had to do that with my vampire sim because apparently feeding on other sims technically counts as a romantic action, which affects their gender preference values. I discovered this after feeding from townies indiscriminately.

Miles just had a vampire lady use the 'intimidate' action on him, and he was so thoroughly freaked out that he fainted, peed himself, fainted AGAIN, and then after he cleaned himself up his shower broke. 🤣

Meanwhile his guest decided to help herself to his coffeemaker downstairs and then left without a word.

Update: I had him drink a Radical Repairum potion and he immediately got sick. He was able to fix the shower in an instant at least. 👍

...And then his dishwasher broke.

Man, this is probably the worst streak of bad luck I've seen in the sims.
