throughout the twilight series, we watch Bella's sense of self systematically dissolved in an almost clinical fashion, beginning with the dissolution of her ability to access the common understanding of the world (that scene in the movie where she watches her friends have fun while she's escaping a murderous vampire), and ending with the opening of her mind to Edward's ability.

By the time Bella let's Edward into her mind and the end of BD, she has been completely destroyed and remade in the Cullen's image, mind, body, and soul. She's not Bella Swan anymore, in any way whatsoever.

I do wish we had more information on Renfield's charactor, i mean in the book we barely know who he is besides a lunatic who is in a insane asylum! and the count his beloved master.

No wonder dracfield make such a great couple they are sexy and beautifiul...

Let me use this chance to present the chapter 2 of the comic of which I haven’t come up with a name *lmao*. I am thankful of your question, and I am optimistic about it actually. Precisely because there are so many gaps about Renfield, that people are able to draw from different sources to enrich him, and of course his dear master. It allows huge freedom while a healthy level of respect to an original work may be maintained.

For the love of all that's unholly, turn on the sound! Anyway, I'm on a mission to find as many Renfield appearances throughout the years as I can. This one is from Nosferatu the Vampyre of 1979. Short synopsis below, because spoilers:

In this film, Renfield is Harker's boss, and as he sends Harker off to Transylvania, warns him that the job will cost him some sweat and possibly blood. Later, without an explanation, we see Renfield in the asylum. Harker is inexplicably married to Lucy, and Mina is married to some unnamed dude. Harker cuts his thumb with a butter knife and Drac can't resist and bites him. Lucy is onto this whole affair and attempts to rile up VanHelsing and Co to fight Dracula, but no one believes her. So she takes him on by herself, eventually defeating him by sacrificing her own life. Too bad that by then her dear hubby has turned full vampire, so she died for nothing. The video clip above is the only on-screen interaction between Renfield and Dracula.

the “bella is a boring and lifeless character/kristen stewart is a bad actress because she didn’t exhibit any emotion during new moon” narrative is extremely neurotypical as if people don’t compartmentalize and disassociate to protect themselves from trauma not all grief is screaming and crying movies about men with ptsd who shut down after a traumatic event are lauded and universally praised for their accurate depictions of mental health but when y’all are given a pitch-perfect depiction of ptsd in a teenage girl y’all drag it through the coals and call her lifeless your biases against woman and their mental health are showing
