Fun little math trick I find really helpful: the ratio of a mile to a kilometer is within 1% of the Golden Ratio. That means that if you have a good memory for Fibonacci numbers (1 2 3 5 8 13 21 34 55 89) you can convert pretty accurately by taking consecutive Fibonacci numbers.

For example, 89 kilometers is really close to 55 miles (55.3). Or, say you need to convert 26 miles to kilometers: 26 can be written as 21 plus 5, so taking the next Fibonacci number up gives 34 and 8, meaning it should be around 42 kilometers. Sure enough, it's 41.8 km!

But I certain see what you mean with all this. That is a tricky situation.... I'm not sure what might work...

B seems to be someone who's not a fan of conflict, and maybe C could hit a very specific hot spot for them?

Like if taking the big sibling idea from before, if C is younger, maybe B could be easily reminded of a little sibling/cousin they don't see much at this time in their life. So, they're a bit more lenient about C's behavior without realizing.

Or maybe B ends up being C's mentor, and so ends up feeling responsible for C because they're supposed teach C everything C needs to know.

Also maybe the reason C is on the vacation is because it's a business trip! Maybe B brought A along and they were planning to stay for their vacation afterwards!

Pretty obvious fact about myself that I mention every now and then is that I like angst that isn’t full on angst (cause then the whole thing spirals and I’m like ‘how tf can they bounce back from this???’, I’m just not clever enough to make a happy ending out of everything 😭)

But sometimes in my quest to do this, I accidentally make the situation really horrible with horrifying implications

Current case in point: on the verge of dating/newly together couple who are starting to have problems because A doesn’t feel prioritized by B because B seemingly cares about everyone else and their feelings without thinking about how it affects A, especially if C is involved

So this means doing things like canceling hangouts, answering calls at inconvenient times, moving their schedule around to best accommodate C even if it messes with A, etc

And I wanted to have it be where it’s something like B isn’t trying to be a horrible friend/partner, but there’s a reason they can’t just say no to C (without the reason being that B is just oblivious because those plot lines annoy me way too much), so I was like “they just feel like they can’t say no because C is higher up at their job than they are”

Before realizing how horrifying that is and now I’m just like “oh. oh no. oh no no no no.”

So back to the drawing board I guess 😭
