strange fanfiction themes BAFFLE me

like i get that fanfiction is FICTIONAL (in the name) but you've got to draw the line somewhere, right?? like it's kind of hard to say that you're not into something in real life but then consume so much media that plays into the topic (and actively enjoy it). i really do think it reflects your mental state and i do think that it is harmful to post it online where a lot of people can engage with it. it creates a harmful standard and makes a lot of people think that something could be okay, when it really isn't. maybe i'm too woke or something but it really doesn't sit right with me when people actively write about things like incest (i mean i can get behind it being part of a character's "traumatic backstory" or something TO AN EXTENT, but when it's fetishized or celebrated/glorified, it just seems really weird to me). and i cannot get behind the proshipper community. i just find it disgusting and weird. ESPECIALLY when it's minors being shipped with adults. can we, like, NOT normalise it??
