They're friends from rival dog packs (Yes there are merdogs) and spend their time playing and making long lists of bugs they discover in the swamp. I think the story will be something about them uniting their packs with the power of friendship.

That plush is the last thing he has left from Euclidia. His mom made it for him after how he described a three-dimentional creature. To remind him that being special doesnt mean you're a freak. (i know it doesnt make sense, but its still sad)
