As ablebodied mentally ill individual I am saying: there's nothing wrong with your medication being NOT life-saving. I mean, yes, I have serious mental illness. Yes, without my meds I may (and most likely will) end up in psychosis. Yes, I tried to fucking gut myself in my last episode. And no, that still doesn't make my lithium "life-saving" medication. I mean, OF COURSE psychosis is serious and dangerous thing that could easily lead to my death, but my organs won't fail me if I stop taking my meds, I won't suffocate on nothing, my heart won't stop beating, my life won't be set on timer if I stop taking my meds. It's okay to need your medication to live "normally" AND to lack of these medication not leading to your instant death. If your medication isn't life-saving, it doesn't mean it's "not important" or doesn't matter. Your issues aren't any less serious because of you're not having it the worst. Sometimes important medication means just important medication. It's okay.
