Emerging from my slumber to engage in boop

I am so so worried about my guy Sam. The way he talked about not being chosen by the institute and immediately following it up by going “finding the bit where everything started to go wrong”. We can guess that not being chosen was probably a very good thing, but Sam doesn’t know that! He seems to still be looking for that validation. Because rejection hurts and not knowing why you’ve been rejected from the “special little kids club” hurts even more. Also, if the theories about the entities being more connected to desire are correct, that kind of attitude spells disaster! It would also be a cool departure from the conflict in tma. Jon stumbled down his path to becoming an avatar, but he never was in it for power or recognition. If he had the chance, he would have outright rejected it. However, with the right incentives, I could now see Sam choose that path willingly, to prove himself. I think it sets up Sam as a super interesting character to follow in future episodes and I am really fucking worried for him 🫠

Hate going into my WIPs and thinking “Wow that’s such a neat idea. I wish some would finish that.”

I am absolutely delighted by the comic relief this episode, but in the middle of all the madness Montresor (shockingly lol) actually brings up a very good point.

Why isn’t the gun loaded?

I don’t believe that Lenore was the one who killed Annabel, but even if she did, that would take probably one bullet. I think the gun has like, six chambers? Why not load all of them? If they were all loaded, where did the rest of the bullets go?

I find it incredibly hard to believe that Lenore would just fire at random. So by all accounts there should be some bullets left in the gun.

So there are some of the many possible answers:

- It really wasn’t her gun, which raises the question why it ended up with her in Nevermore.

- Maybe there weren’t any bullets to begin with?

- Hey, maybe she really had to use all of them somehow.

Idk I don’t have any answers to those questions yet, and anything I’d come up with is wild speculation. I just think it’s interesting to note. And something to keep in mind.

That or I’m reading wayyy too much into this whole thing!
