I made aesthetics for Venus-Saturn aspects
I do not own any of these images. All of these were found on various social media and belong to their respective owners. I'd link the original photographers if that information were available at all 馃槖
I've seen various aspect mood boards, some of them have been really on point, and wanted to try one for one of mine, then decided to do the rest of them for this planet combo.
Unfortunately, I think only mine has a clear theme and idea to it. But the rest are... okay. And I made them already, so, uh...
**Venus sextile Saturn**
Thought Process...
Access points to intimacy through responsibility and vice-versa, a complimentary energy between beauty and routine, an easy link between discipline and love; loyalty, competency, and consistency.
**Saturn Trine Venus**
Easily chaining together self-improvement with improvement of relationships, creativity and practicality angled in the same direction, a scaffolding made from what interests and what restricts
**Venus square Saturn**
Relationships defined by tensions, trying to escape the conflict between what feels good and what feels right, struggling to balance the need for stability with the volatile vulnerability of love
**Saturn Conjunct Venus**
Beauty is work, having to carefully plan luxury, the inability to disentangle duty from desire, boundaries inherent to all forms of affection, growth of love is slow and disciplined
**Venus Opposite Saturn*
Tug of war between the heart and mind, frustration around loneliness, discomfort about compromise, always feeling like you have to choose, caution when dealing with desire
**Saturn Inconjunct Venus**
Honor holding down attraction, loving too differently from how you manage your life, holding steady against the fear it will disrupt everything
**Venus Semi-sextile Saturn**
Not relating, something pulling in the wrong direction, too stable, too dreamy, a sense of absence, too close and too far, smoothing over the ruffles in how you search for affection
**Saturn Quintile Venus**
Trying to blend together time for obligations and space for relationships, bridging the distance between all the things you want, between desire and responsibility, developing the life you want
**Venus Sesquisquare Saturn**
A difficulty embracing the beauty in the world but a gift for doing so, not knowing how to want things, always expecting too much and getting too little, not knowing how to not want things
**Saturn Octile Venus**
Repressing stress or loneliness or both, not quite belonging, an ache or hunger not able to be explained, blindsided by the way one's heart and mind misunderstand each other

How I understand the cusps between Zodiac Signs/Houses
12 -> 1: The differentiation of self from the whole of all things, the collective becoming the individual, the grandeur of the world is distilled down, infinite possibility becoming a singular reality... self-actualization.
1 -> 2: Anchoring activity into routine, settling in for the long haul, the consequences of deciding who you are, the consequences for both success and failure, the need to refuel, to catch your breath and keep going... the acceptance of desire.
2 -> 3: Learning what it is to have control over your identity, learning to adapt to situations, a steady platform to jump from, starting to piece things together, the decision of who you want to be, the discovery of more ways to be... a certainty of self.
3 -> 4: Embracing joy, work less and be more, the front porch of the house, the backyard, the painted picture completes itself, an empty house before you move in... a sense of belonging.
4 -> 5: The bravery of crossing the boundaries of what is known and comfortable, switching tactics in the mission for self-validation, becoming alert to your impact on others... seeking out affection.
5 -> 6: Unsettling the ego by allowing it to become more than itself, starting to abide by rules, stopping to listen, the pause between the give and take ... the presence of self in the world.
6 -> 7: Prioritizing the gift of other's contributions, the decision to give up distinction for dignity, the act of sending something to someone, of letting it leave your hands ... the act of social connection.
7 -> 8: Starting to ask for more, going deeper, justice beginning to turn emotional, developing greater connections from relationships, losing self by gaining aspects of non-self, the slow process of letting go... negotiating with one's desires.
8 -> 9: Settling into the unknown after taking the leap into the dark, regaining attachments to what is observable, spiritual becomes philosophical, the sun is rising, the light falls over the valley... a diminished sense of self in a massive world.
9 -> 10: Building off of experience, building from what is collected, settling down, using your talents in new ways, knowledge turns into plans, sharing visions and ideas ... accepting responsibility for power.
10 -> 11: Diversifying means of improvement, starting to value accomplishments in new ways, sharing responsibility, acknowledging the role of individuality, duties turn more personal... trying to change the world.
11 -> 12: Going beyond the group, going beyond duty, learning to value emotion, innovation merges with creativity, appreciation for others turning into empathy... reconciling individuality with the collective.
12-> 1 (reprise): The beginning is the end, the end is the beginning, between power and strength, between thought and action, what is there?

Oppositions, and squares are good placements
I was going to add "actually" to the end of that, but I feel like most people kind of already know that?
So, I'm going to say this a little too simply.
If you have a line tugging you west and a line tugging you south, should they exert even pressure you go south-west. If you're on a hot-air balloon, when you stoke the fire - you go up, cool it and you can go back down.
You have the means to go places most other people can't go.
And sometimes those places are bad and suck to be in. In fact, it is easier to find the bad places. All sides compromise to find the worst solution and bring the worst out in themselves. The path of least resistance is negativity. It's easier to evade the problem than tackle hard changes.
This is the part I've seen people talk about: that resistance leads to growth
This is the part I like to think about: the potential for both doing good and bad has a large range.
That scope is inherent. You don't have to work for it.

Stars = Resources
Something that I noticed is that not a lot of people's metaphysical conception of astrology is as completely removed from the concept of fate as mine is.
Granted, I approach everything related to the occult in a very practical way. What I think about is that your natal chart represents a particular set of resources, with transits representing how those resources might fluctuate in response to your environment.I feel that it's a way to notice what you feel is possible, what patterns of difficulty and ease you experience - if you think about it, isn't it just the personality you're born with filtered through a metaphor?
I also strongly believe that when writing about placements it's best to keep in mind that literally anyone of any personality and demeanor can have any placement, but... if you don't think of it as an amorphous, not easily defined resource that anyone can express in any way possible, but rather and as just as personality traits... that probably sounds weird. If there's no specifics, then what's the point?
To me, it's the point that it can and should be anything and mean anything it needs to be for the person who is searching for meaning and patterns in their life. I think that maybe... astrology is somewhat hampered by the fact that most people who are into it actually believe in its spiritual aspects - it's not like tarot where I am far from the only person who believes the effect is psychological rather than mystically spiritual.
Or... I think that actually, I'm just really bitter about all the descriptions about Aries Venus that are the complete opposite of who I am, maybe.

Just because the acknowledgement of harm is simple, does not mean that the solution is. By necessity, people who behave in accordance with the idea that the world is a fundamentally unfair place, are not capable of the nuance of self-reflection when criticized for the behavior. Everything for them is all or nothing. Every time I think of it, all I know is: true contentment is constant change, is the lessoning of self, is strength thought pain, is love, is healing, is pain itself - happiness requires hurt. That does not mean hurt is justified.
Long story short, I'm feeling philosophical and out of sorts today, my brain is just messy and wandering, and like... wired-up.
So, anyone want to hear about my idea for a complete removal of the I-Ching's core concepts from historical context to apply it to my own personal views on how to reconcile a person's fundamental capacity for change and the right to forgiveness with the concept that some people become irredeemable by choice in a way that is effectively permanent? Because I sure don't.
All I know is that I related to the concept of "superior person" in some I-Ching translations to the fact that in your attempts to make the world and the lives of people around you better, some people will be an active threat to yours and their safety, intentionally or not - and there is nothing you, personally, can do even if on the broad scale and in general theory that person is someone you can help - it may come at expense to yourself - yet is that cost worth paying?
Toying with the concept of converting (what is a translation with no intention of faithfulness to the original?) - the idea of "inferior person" to "dishonorable person"
But that term is so loaded and weaponized in a way that has specifically made me feel gross, so, uh...
There are no easy answers to anything, but there are simple ones to plenty of things.
Don't let anyone or anything convince you the world isn't a beautiful place.
#im not tagging this because i dont want anyone to have to stumble on it#wtf even is this#what am i saying#why am i saying it#there is no superiority that is valid except there is one that i can think of#there is an exception to every rule including this one

.water is a matter of belonging.
Something I was thinking of when it comes to the cups suite in Tarot...
Once far enough away from the ocean that starts it
Every river eventually runs into the arms of its mother
Watch a raindrop on a windowsill reach for another
The element of water takes the shape of what its poured into. Water carries the sentiments that determine the flow of life.
And a cup is how you carry the water, so...
In a reading, I've been sort of trying to consider that during interpretation.
7 of cups came up in a recent reading for myself and it has an interesting relationship to this concept I've been thinking about. Since the reading was about my feelings, it's kind of like...
All 7 of the cups in this card or empty. There is only one cup in this card and it is empty. It's possibility, potential - but do you actually know what is possible? Or do you just feel it?

((Preliminary Saturn rant.))
Yeah, so today is full moon in Capricorn and I've started an astrology blog.
Water and Earth are resources, no plant can survive without both water and minerals - no living thing can survive without food and drink. All water signs are six signs apart from every earth sign. Every full moon is in the sign opposite of the current sun sign.
Although Capricorn moon is in detriment because it is directly opposite of Cancer, it is full moon in Capricorn which belongs to the season of the sign that is ruled by the moon.
The idea about Saturn that I've agreed with most is that it's where we by constrict . It is something we are naturally good at that we become bad at because we put so much expectation and pressure on ourselves to do things related to it that we cannot actually do. The Saturn-ruled signs are about accepting limits. Working through difficulty...
For me, I've learned an important lesson lately - the slower you go, and the less you do, the more that will get done. And I still haven't fully gotten through to it. It is still hard for me to do. I continue to devalue my process. I continue to feel like I'm not doing enough, even about doing less.
Today is the culmination of the moon's work through difficulty. Today is the culmination of my work through difficulty - my growth and improvement through difficulty. I want to cry and scream and lie down and never get up. I do not want to reckon with my limits - but I have to.
Today I cleaned my bathroom a little bit and finished the homework that I procrastinated on yesterday. Today I wrote 2,000+ words on a creative writing rewrite. Today I walked my dog, took out the trash, and did five push-ups.
I am learning to honor my accomplishments. I am learning to not care more about what I did not do and what I still have left to do. Progress will not happen if you devalue it. Progress will happen if you value it.
Progress will happen. I also learned lately that discipline being based in motivation is bullshit. Discipline is nonsense. The only feeling you can make yourself feel that will move you forward is faith. Progress will happen. You will make progress happen - any step more than zero is progress.
Keep going.

12/3=4 // 12/4-3
The zodiac wheel high key impresses me with how neat it is in regards to classifying the signs and their position within the wheel.
The signs always progress in an order of fire-earth-air-water which means... Every four signs, you get a sign with a matching element type. 1 + 4 = 5 and 5 + 4 = 9, for the fire signs for example: Aries, Leo, Sagittarius. There's also three of each of the four elements, and three modalities with each sign belonging to only one. Just like with how the order of the elements ensure fire and water will always be next to each other, the modalities always go cardinal-fixed-mutable. Meaning that every three signs, you'll get a sign with a matching modality.
This is all to explain basic mathematics in very ill-thought out terms, so let's get into what this actually means: the relationship between signs and modalities when it comes to trines and squares. Three and four. Elements trine each other, and modalities square each other. Every sign in each of three modalities always retain the same oppositions based on their elements. Air always opposes fire. Earth always opposes water. Therefore, earth will always be four signs away from air - roughly approximating a square.
3 - number of harmony, divides by 12 from 4 to create a set of squares. 12 = 1 + 2 = 3 in numerology. One is the self, two is the other, combine them - harmony.
2 plus 2: others plus others -> organization, stability, order. Rigidity. Lack of compromise.
Trying to pull this altogether to say... gaging the relationships of the signs to each other by matching modality is a matter of decisions, structure, orders - a matter of 4s, but the relationship of the modalities to each other is a matter of 3s, of compromise - and the relationships of the signs to each other by same element is a matter of compromise and understanding, but to other elements it's a matter of structure and action.
And both are a matter of structure and composition. Of similarity and contrast, ways of resolving and viewing those identifying features.

Astrolog
If you're into astrology, and you haven't already, you should check out the freeware "Astrolog"
I've linked it specifically to the webpage for what it can do.
When you first load it up, it will show you where everything is as of the exact current moment you booted it up - including aspects and degrees! You can also set it to the city that you're in, or the city you want.
It also allows you to save charts of other dates as well. You can compare older dates to the current moment now's chart to track transits. The documentations says you can compare two charts together with synastry and composite charts too, although admittedly I haven't played around with that feature too much.
I'm far from an expert at this software, and I'm still figuring out what it can do, but it's really fun!
