fuck people who don't believe in the kindness of humanity because after transmitting over a thousand recovery commands, the scientists that built the Mars rover Opportunity, sent her the song "I'll be seeing you" by Billie Holiday. her last message was "my battery is low and its getting dark". she's a robot with no feelings but the people that worked with her for over a decade still wanted her to have a peaceful death. and even though she wouldn't remember their gesture and it wouldn't help or change anything about the outcome of the mission, they wanted her last moments to be beautiful.
