Apple cinnamon bread + lemon curd

apple cinnamon swirl bread
step 1: dough

step 2: roll out

step 3: butter

step 4: spread w/cinnamon sugar

step 5: add diced apples

step 6: place in loaf tin

step 7: bake til resemble pug

pug or loaf?

step 8: eat a slice


lemon curd
step 1: combine 1/4 cup lemon zest + 1 1/4 cup sugar

step 2: get 4 yolks + 1 full egg and whisk

step 3: combine sugar zest and eggs

step 4: add 1/2 cup lemon juice

step 5: heat over double-boiler and stir non-stop for 20-25 minutes

step 6: add 3/8 cup butter thinly sliced. stir til dissolved.

step 7: remove from heat and sieve out zest and cooked egg pieces

step 8: result is smooth!

step 9: add to pre-boiled jars

step 10: refrigerate to solidify

Strawberry bread and jam
Summer=strawberries. My one true love. I’ve always loved strawberries ever since I was a kid. Maybe it’s a boring flavor, but I’m a boring person. I love the consistent and delicious sweet flavor.
Tried to make two strawberry focused foods.
1. Trying to make strawberry jam
Cutting up strawberries.



...And I forgot to take pics of the rest of the process. But attempt was unsuccessful. Too sweet and too watery. Jam failed to completely set. Possibly because I added a cup of sugar in late or because I overboiled.

2. Attempts to make strawberry bread...
I tried to make strawberry bread using strawberries I had frozen.
This was not a great idea because the melting strawberries added too much moisture to my dough
Resulting in a strawberry icecream-looking mess, yum

After baking. The end result was rather flat, but still tasty.

The strawberries added touches of sweetness to a normal bread, lots of moisture.

Will plan to try making these again. Strawberries are worth it!

Pretzels
Had a pretzel craving.
Baking pretzels. Totally worth it.
(Should have taken more pics of the beautiful dough.)

Baking

First attempt. Too chubby, no holes, too much salt, soft like a bagel. Delicious, but we can do better.

Improvement! Holes developing.

Perfect pretzel. <3
