Save. Exit. In. Save. Real. Nashville. @exit_in REM, Faith No More, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, The Allman Brothers, The Black Crowes, and Black Flag, to list a very small few. This club is as historic as @theryman in my opinion (and I’ve played both dozens of times). If the Ryman is a marker that you’ve made it, then Exit/In is the starting line. The shows are louder, sweatier, and more energetic. Please consider giving to the gofundme to try and save this important venue in a town that’s becoming increasingly venue-less. Exit/In provided a space for me to grow as a performer and musician. @bonesowens is the definition of a real artist. This record is a result of as his song says “a long, long time”. An artist who took the journey to find themselves. It’s a messy mission. I’m so proud to have walked those trails alongside him. And the beautiful part is through this journey we became real friends. One of my favorite pedals of all time. This is an original 1970’s @ehx Micro Synthesizer pedal. I’ve had this for probably 15 years. Happy New Year’s Eve. @carolinastory brought the idea of writing a song about getting through the hardship of this year and what it means to look forward with hope for the next one. We wrote it in about 20 minutes, and recorded it in a few hours, probably because we needed the song just as much as anyone. I believe in the healing power of this song. I’ve lost a few friends this year, including an old band mate from high school yesterday morning. Kind words from a stranger come just when they’re needed most. Thank you. ❤️ As my dad would say “you’re in some tall cotton”. This was a special time in my touring life....those shows did really hit a level I was striving for. Improvisation and bursts of energy that would move the whole room. My time in @overtherhinemusic was magical and played a huge part in my shift to the studio. I am grateful for every moment. But these live moments were both special and fleeting. I miss playing shows. Now more than ever. Might need to change that when things get normal. Ps mark knopfler is top 5 and to be in the same breath as him is mindblowing.
