might be a hot take but I think the tgcf character who could be most trusted with the One Ring is hua cheng postcanon.

a lot of people would say it's xie lian, but i think he'd be like Gandalf. he wouldn't destroy the ring because he'd want to use it to do good. even if he initially wanted to destroy the ring, the ring would use his desire to save the common people to corrupt him.

hua cheng, however, only wants one thing: xie lian. post canon hua cheng already has everything he could have wanted with xie lian and more. the ring doesn't have anything it can use to manipulate him that won't be overridden by his love for xie lian. especially if xie lian is with him to reassure him of any doubts the ring might try to instill in him. and if the ring tries to corrupt xie lian, then that damn accessory has got to go.

as a cis guy, when presented with the "99% you get a ton of money, 1% you turn into a girl" it honestly would be dumb to not hit that button until it breaks. like ok now i have 100 bajillion dollars and gender dysphoria. big deal. i have all the money in the world to turn me back into a guy. like with that kind of money i could have obama do me a phalloplasty. he wouldnt be able to do it as he isnt a surgeon but the point still stands

stoned and autistic at a party trying to make conversation: I find the comparative lifespan of organisms so interesting. Spiders are comparatively long lived animals. Female black widows can live up to 3 years but their male counterparts rarely live four months. Some tarantulas live upwards of 20 years. The longest lived spider was around 43 years old when she was cruelly assassinated by a parasitic wasp. Domestic rats have a lifespan comparable to female black widows. To put things into perspective, there are spiders that remember a pre-pandemic world but it is likely every rat on earth was born post-COVID. There could be a spider out there born when Reagan was in office.
