Oops, the new anime brought my muse back.

Now to fix up a blog I never actually finished editing. orz

“Oh- Okay! I... Thank you.” Was there something else she should have said? No matter what was going on, Tsuyu was always so level-headed. It brought out the best in people, to have an anchor like her. Really, she could see what Momo saw in her. Were there even any guys like that anywhere?

That line of thinking spiraled and took her along with it, and by the time they actually arrived at their destination, Ochako was chewing at her lip and had to be jarred out of her thoughts. They dissolved into mist, or were pushed down, or something, and she seized onto the distraction like it was the handle of a car, and life had just taken her around a sharp turn.

“I’m so excited, it’s been so long since I had ice cream!” Sure, she could have had it any time, but that just didn’t feel right. It was a summer food! The kind you eat while outside on a hot day! And all the flavors! She could hardly wait to stop thinking about girls eat an entire mountain of it! “Ooh, look at this one! Ice Cream Smash! Cherry, vanilla, and berry! ...I wonder if they actually got All Might-sensei’s permission to call it that...”

“Yeah, she’ll definitely do better with Momo-chan watching over her shoulder.” All three of them should. Momo could be a real slave driver- especially since she would surely take this as a challenge to her reputation as the outstanding student of the class. 

Tsuyu shook her head, reassuring her friend that it was completely alright- Ochako seemed to be agonizing about how to act around both of them quite often… it was a little strange. “No, I don’t mind, Chako-chan. Everyone has their own preferences and some people are more embarrassed about romantic stuff. Really, if you want to talk about stuff like that, I’m your friend, and I’m happy to help you out.”

Ochako was her friend, and she obviously wanted to be as inoffensive as possible, so Tsuyu didn’t have any problems explaining anything that needed to be explained, even with her limited experience.

“We can talk about it over ice cream, okay?” They could sit outside so they weren’t so surrounded by people, and have their conversation in relative privacy.

“Why doesn’t Katsuki-kun just call himself Hand Grenade?”

“I guess there’s not much we can do about it. At least she’s in good hands!” Tutoring the entire bottom three at the same time? Ochako honestly wasn’t sure how Momo kept up, but if anyone could do it, it was her. “I don’t know how you two can be so open about your relationship. I think I’d probably be too shy to even admit something like that...”

“Oh, oh no, was that rude to say?” It felt a little weird, acknowledging a relationship so openly, and it was all such new territory for Ochako. Of course, intellectually, she understood, and was happy for them, but growing up in a small town, certain attitudes just sort of... sunk in, without her even realizing it until now. “I’m still so new to this and I don’t know what is or isn’t okay to say, and I know you don’t mind, but I still want to be a good friend, and...”

Why did this keep coming up? This wasn’t even the first time today that Ochako had mentioned their... their relationship. Was she actually more bothered by it than she was admitting? Were her views of what was traditional becoming more important to her than to her good friend, maybe even her best friend?

“Um... am I rambling? Sorry.”

Ice Cream!

“That’s what teachers are there for. Preventing people from hurting each other when they get surprised. And teaching.” Tsuyu wasn’t really breaking eye contact either- but that wasn’t all that strange for the wide-eyed girl in the first place. Still, she was very excited. She got to stop wrapping up finally, and was starting to feel a bit more energetic as the days started to get warmer. 

Tsuyu was dressed similarly, though over her blue sundress she was sporting a lace-trimmed green knit- She didn’t want to be caught unawares if a sudden drop in temperature disrupted her date with ‘Chako-chan, as she had taken to calling her.

“It’s too bad Mina couldn’t come with us, kero.” Unabashedly calling her by her given name with no honorifics? Tsuyu is shameless. Her girlfriend was, yet again, stuck with her tutor- a position Tsuyu had given up after several failed collaborative studying sessions. “Still, I’m glad you could come out with me, Chako-chan. We should have gone out a long time ago.”

Ice Cream!

”-and of course Katsuki-kun suddenly yelling like that spooked me, it had been so quiet I had almost forgot he was there.” Walking in step with her best friend, Ochako only barely broke eye contact with her while cheerfully explaining precisely why she had launched her desk into the air during an English test. It had been the talk of things for the whole week, especially since it had pegged Bakugo in the head while he was coming up to turn his test in. “So I started falling backward in my chair, and I wasn’t even thinking about what was happening, I just kind of made my desk float on accident.”

It was a warm day, summer uniforms had been switched over to, but on Sunday, on an ice cream date with Tsu-chan? She’d busted out a yellow sundress she’d been wanting to wear for months. It was incredibly cute, and it had a white back-bow that kind of reminded her of Tsuru’s hair. “And I guess that’s when Gunhead-sensei’s training kicked in, cause I don’t even remember kicking my legs out, but...” But the bruise on Bakugo’s forehead from where the corner of the desk had hit him, as well as the surprised laughter of everyone else in the room, had spoken for themselves. Well, almost everyone. “Present Mic-sensei and Tenya-kun both kind of chewed me out for irresponsible use of my powers. I got a thumbs-up from Kirishima-kun, though!”
