I don’t know how to take fancy food photos but wanted to share some good stuff I’ve eaten lately.

I'm hosting my first Pride themed Story time this Saturday and while I have the basics down and do regular family story times on Fridays, I feel like I want more out of this for the patrons. I'm ordering bracelets and stickers to hand out, but does anyone have any tips to jazz it up a little?

the same way fat is a neutral word you’ve got to believe that a canvas can house a beautiful piece of work regardless of its shape (Van Gogh and Pollock both hang in museums)
Also as fat ladies not in our 20’s we have some sacred duty to show the young ones that you can wear The Thing. also let’s be practical! You’ll be in the heat! We absolutely cannot sacrifice comfort for something as ephemeral as self consciousness! A little loosey goosey arm may be quirky but heat stroke is worse! And finally if outward perception must be addressed at all, anyone with issue or nasty judgment is HIGHLY unlikely to comment or remember the offending fashion, whereas someone that sees your outfit and falls immediately in love with the swagger? That’s going to stick!
Once you’re there you’ll hopefully be too blissed out by the live music euphoria to even remember what you’re wearing!
I need a body image pep talk, Peeps. I’m going to see My Chemical Romance in early July! At an outdoor venue. I want to wear one of my sleeveless lace-up overdresses with a sleeveless ruffled blouse. (And fluffy skirts, of course.)
I’m 56 and fat. (Look at me putting my therapist’s advice to work; fat is a value- neutral word!), so my upper arms are flabby. I’m starting gentle weight workouts to build my strength, but those won’t work miracles in a month.
Please help me quiet the Body Image Demons. If you have photos of fabulous fat people wearing fabulous things, that would be extra great.
Photo tax so I can keep telling the Body Image Demons to fuck off.
From the last time I saw MCR, down in L.A.

I've never submitted to a Zine, I don't know how much popularity politics play into it, but something moved me this year to seek out more community and art seems to consistently be a way of doing that, so if anyone could give me a linear intro to finding zines to submit to I'd appreciate it.

sad reality of the fanfic-to-published work economy is that the weirdest people are willing to do it. that's why there's now hundreds of shitty no plot cishet hate-to-love enemies-to-lovers books that are ex reylo fanfic. and it's not even good. that's because the people who wrote book-quality steve/bucky and kirk/spock fic are too normal to think to themselves "i should get this porn published". they're too busy working in local government offices

Kinda funny I unintentionally kicked off the year with two sky-celestial-themed titles. one gave me comfort, one fired me up.

I have been working my job for 309 days // 10 Months // 44 Weeks
I love my job. I love what I do. I look forward to work. I look forward to every weird thing that comes my way every day. I like planning events. I like answering weird questions. I like wearing my silly outfits. Most of all, I love my city. This job took so long to land and I believe it is worth every rejection email I ever received.

147 days since I started my job! I still love it. It has been so interesting!
Some days are better than others, sure, but overall? Man, I love it.
The highlight and the lowlight is always the public. Like, dude, how many ways do people have to gently remind you there’s no eating in the library? Most stuff is forgivable but if I can’t be munching down at my desk, neither can you.
Library Assistant is great. I love being here, I love my random interactions with patrons. Today I helped someone with an iphone stuck on zoomed in.

I hate this post so much. People don't even know how to behave in the library during day time hours, focus on that first.

Wish I had more story-telling juice in the chamber for this but here's a little work quip about how I was supposed to be on my way out for the day but had to sit and be nosy when a patron wandered in to check in a book and worriedly informed my co worker "We really liked reading this book, but just to let you guys know there's like, cross-dressing and stuff." and bless my co-worker, and exhausted gay man in his elder years, for patiently sighing out "Oh, yeah, that's why we put the LGBTQ sticker on the side." and blankly staring down the patron's lead-stare infused "Oh." before wandering off. Presumably to sulk that neither of us were scandalized or whatever.
I went over once the patron had left to be nosy and see what the offensive book was and it literally was just a kid that gets into his parent's closet and plays dress up, and ultimately just wants to be a kid running around naked. There's no big coming out rainbow propaganda or circle jerks, just 'hey, would i like to wear this? maybe!'
