I just finished Iron Widow and I will accept NO CRITIQUE of this book. It is amazing. I love having a strong yet unhinged female lead who dives straight into a villain arch. I love the discussions of gender and misogyny. I love the references to real people in Chinese history. I love the nods to Chinese mythology. I love the true love triangle that turns into a poly partnership. I love the twist at the end. I 👏🏻 love 👏🏻 all 👏🏻 of 👏🏻 it 👏🏻. I cannot wait to read Heavenly Tyrant!!!!
I cannot explain how well executed the piloting Chrysalises is done and how brilliantly the reveal as to why girls die is done. Iron Widow has a lovely writing style anyway and the yin-yang void space? The working in sync? The reveal as to it being built into the system that the seat for the girls is more likely to kill them? It's a wonderful read throughout. Seeing how the characters develop and work with one another will never not be a delight. @xiranjayzhao, your book is a masterpiece and I am ecstatic for Heavenly Tyrant.
As per last year there are a fair amount of sequels coming out this year that I am excited about (and some of them have really fabulous covers) sooo I'll be tracking them on here! I just can not wait for some of these!! Dates are subject to change throughout the year. There will be another one of these when more covers are released :)
Are there any sequals that you all are excited about? Lost in the Moment and Foud by Seanan McGuire (January 10)
Heavenly Tyrant by Xiran Jay Zhao (August 29)
A Day of Fallen Night by Samantha Shannon (Febuary 28)
