another inconsistency ppl like to bring up is the multiple times in the first doctor's era when someone takes the doctor's pulse and says it sounds normal but lest we forget this only happens when the Doctor is somehow incapacitated so its possible that one of his hearts keeps stopping. man's pretty old.

Spent tonight at a local short film festival. One of the shorts was made by two 12 year olds in their backyard and it was the best short of the entire night

I don't know if it really counts as "concise" when it's usually just that I don't have the patience to figure out how the rest of the story goes. Sometimes I get away with it, sometimes I don't really.
The tag I use for drabbles is "Drabble (Birmingham Rules)", to indicate that I follow the Birmingham University SF Society definition of a drabble. It doesn't appear in my top ten because it's not a canonical tag yet (since, so far, nobody has used it but me).
Challenge for authors with works on AO3: go to your Works page (non-separated by fandom, all your fics), click "Filter," and then share your top ten list of "additional tags" - what tropes and tags have you used the most across your writing?
Mine are:
Angst (43)
Hurt/Comfort (36)
Established Relationship (30)
Fluff (19)
Master & Padawan Relationships (Star Wars) (14)
Alternate Universe - Modern Setting (11)
Family (10)
Canonical Character Death (9)
Grief/Mourning (9)
Elf Culture & Customs (9)
No-pressure tagging @tathrin, @katajainen, and @elljayvee to start, but please consider yourself tagged if you're interested!

A sentence from this article that's worth noting:
The craft survived the wall as, though the particles they measured were extremely energetic, the chances of collision in this particle-sparse region of space are so low that not enough heat could be transferred to the duo.
So Voyager found out there is this bubble surrounding our solar system made up of solar material blown outwards by solar wind and acts as a border between the solar system and the rest of space has a temperature of 30,000-50,000 Kelvin.
For reference the surface of the sun has a temperature of roughly 5770 kelvin

POV Third Person
Prompt Fic
Present Tense
Past Tense
3 Sentence Ficathon
3 Sentence Fiction
Challenge Response
Half Drabble
Wordcount: 100
Humor
Things this list says about me:
I tag for format more consistently than I tag for tropes
Many of my works were responses to fic prompts
Not everything I've written for 3 Sentence Ficathon was three sentences long
I have Opinions about the correct use of the term "Drabble"

So, we had, like, this question about how to pronounce Han Solo, like so many other people. And we finally did a search to see if anyone had counted the occurrences of Han and Han in the original trilogy, and they did!
Obviously, the way he introduces himself should be the right way to pronounce his name, but we noticed an interesting pattern while watching this video:
youtube
Everyone who says his name up to about halfway through Empire does so by pronouncing it to rhyme with "on".
But then Lando comes on the scene and very clearly pronounces his name to rhyme with "plan". And everyone around Lando starts doing it, too. Including Leia.
Until Luke encounters Lando. Luke keeps calling Han in the original pronunciation. But Luke's pronunciation doesn't seem to have an effect on everyone else, until Leia has something nice to say about Han near the end of Jedi, at which point she switches back to rhyming with "on".
So, we have a theory!
Lando knows how Han's name is supposed to be pronounced. He deliberately pronounces it wrong, in the way of old buddies who go way back, to purposely rub Han the wrong way. And, then, everyone who is irritated with Han for some reason picks up on it and starts doing it too, because it's funny. At least until they nominally forgive him for being so him.
Han just lives with it, because he's known Lando long enough to know it's not worth bringing it up. Lando's reasons for it are more irritating to Han than the actual habit.
Luke, obviously, just respects people, regardless of whether he's irritated with them or not. It doesn't occur to him to rib anyone with pure pettiness. That's just who Luke is.

no animal was harmed during the making of this video. not one. for the few minutes that we were shooting film, the guns of each hunter fell silent. the industrial bolt throwers observed a moment's peace and the jaws of every predator hung softly open. no fish bit any hook and the bait worms held off on drowning only until the cameras stopped. the tails of ruminants ceased to flick just as their attendant flies, in unison, landed on their flanks to catch their tiny breaths. a spider instantly stopped winding silk around a wasp, patiently waiting for the caesura to end. a young veterinarian paused with the syringe in their hand. somewhere, a colicky baby stopped biting its mother's nipple and nursed happily for the very first time. we're sorry. we're sorry it couldn't have been longer. we didn't know this would happen.
