The truth?
I have strived to know the truth But what is truth? My truth isnt necessarily your truth. You probably don't want to know my truth, Probably don't want to hear it, Because its not relevant to you, in your head. But its the truth, surely? Is it real? Does belief make it so? Or hard incontrovertible evidence, if such exists? Its my truth, in my head. Id like it to be yours too, But its probably best to keep my mouth shut. To live in quiet a quiescence of my perception of the truth.

Natural Disasters
I reblogged that post about the Chilean volcano as I dozed off! But I do love ( have a fascination for) volcanoes. Love is perhaps the wrong word, but this one has sprung back to life just after the Nepal earthquake. Coincidence? Not a word I would use. My own personal perception is these “natural” disasters are gonna keep coming. The planet will look after itself. Its been here for a damn sight longer than we have, it will be here long after we have gone.

With little warning Chile’s Calbuco volcano erupted with ferocity after 42 years of stability.
On April 22nd, plumes of ash began spewing from the volcano up to 10 kilometres in the air, and resulted in a large evacuation process as well as these powerful images.
With warning of as little as 15 minutes for some residents, this eruption highlights the immense difficulty in forecasting volcanic eruptions. Chile has 400 or so active volcanoes - one of the highest amounts on the planet, yet there’s still little that can be done to efficiently predict these eruptions.
The proximity of high population density near large volcanoes seen in countries like Chile, Malaysia and The US have experts in the field concerned about the measures taken to ensure safety. Volcanoes that have been dormant for hundreds or thousands of years can still spring to life, begging the question; what can we do to ensure safety of these populations?

Fighting fit?
Im fighting with myself. I know I need to do this, so why Do I need to fight myself to get it done? Im on the edge of tears, im struggling to stay calm Im staring into the pit once again. This should be easy This should all make sense Its supposed to make you happy So why is it doing the opposite? Why am I finding it so hard? Too many changes, too quickly set Do this, dont do that, eat this, dont eat that. Dont drink coffee, dont eat bread Just eat yukky veggies instead. Im not a fucking rabbit Im not a bloody fish I just cant stand to be abused like this I show a willing face I sit behind my wall If I dont make any sounds Im not really here at all Its all a joke, its all for what? Its all to be "acceptable" To be happy? So why do I feel so sad?

A Thousand miles
I wish to be a former shadow of myself I take a step that becomes pain in abundance Positive hurt to fight away the demon This demon weighs in at about 8 stone The first steps to kill a burden I’ve carried Far too long its become what people think is me Its not. Im not this, im angry and happy, I hate and love in equal measure. Im not going to be fat anymore Im really going to kill this demon, I’m going to prove them wrong.
Im better than that. Im fit. I will be fitter. I can only improve. The pain will turn into joyous…. Whatever the opposite of pain is!
But for now, im taking it, One painful step after another My journey of a thousand miles Has begun………….

Gift
What could I possibly give you? If I gave you a compliment You'd laugh in my face If I gave you a hug You'd stiffen in defence If I offered my love You'd throw it back If I gave you these words You'd treat them with contempt. So, what could I possibly give? My love, words, thoughts, All sent through the ether In the hopes the universe knows And directs them to you In your dreams, your thoughts. Know that I love you More than you could ever know.

Unbroken heart?
I thought I'd lost the ability to feel love My heart has proven me wrong As I sit in the presence of forbidden I felt that which I thought had gone Odd to have these feelings now In the twilight of your leaving But I know that love will find away To heal a heart thats bleeding It broke a long time ago A hurt I thought would never heal Yet as I write it feels just like It aches with love again Odd this is because I was convinced My heart could not be trusted It would appear that I am wrong As my old heart is not busted.

I know how you look And I’m in love with every inch of you I’ve seen your belly I’ve seen how many chins you can give yourself I’ve seen you make the absolute dumbest faces But never have I ever Found you any less attractive Then the first day I laid my eyes on you You’re my kind of perfection.

I need a book
I like to read, its one of those tangible things in life that, as yet, electronics cannot replace. I know a lot of people read via Kindle etc. but I dont. I still prefer the feel and look of a book. Theres something oddly comforting about holding a book. I didn't read for pleasure until I was out of the schooling system, I found, very quickly, I enjoyed the experience of allowing my imagination to paint pictures and characters of incredible clarity. Something an ebook, for all its essentially the same, has yet to accomplish. Oddly. I must endeavour to find a Pratchett I've not read, there are very many, to while away the quiet hours of this coming weekend. Happy easter.

Imagine a thought....
Alone, in my head Thoughts rush in Images rush out I sit, alone in my head. I do not speak Just nod and smile An incline and wry twitch Are all I need to communicate No words can convey The thoughts in my head For if I should speak The images would shatter I stay silent And watch my imagination Take flight I keep my silence.

I've learned something new today... and I'm half Irish.
St Patrick’s is a day to celebrate the elimination of Pagans, Druids and Pagan Celts from Ireland. Where many were beaten until they agreed to convert or where killed as a lesson to all who would not convert.
According to the legend, St. Patrick stamped his staff on the ground to rid the snakes out of Ireland. In reality the snakes that were sent from the island were the Druids. St Patrick killed the Druids and Celtic Pagans. There have never been any snakes in Ireland.
During the seventh century, the Christian Church taught its missionaries that if they could not convert any natives, they were to use any means necessary to convert the nonbelievers.
The Druids and Celts were not interested in giving up their old ways and converting to Christianity. St. Patrick is said to have lead to the murders of thousands of priests and priestesses and their followers (and a lot more others that were not recorded) and tortured many others, while many who were lucky enough escaped, but were drove from their homes.
As he would walk by a Pagan who would not convert, he would stamp his staff and walk away. His followers would then attack and kill the nonbeliever in front of their friends, villagers and family as a lesson to those who refused to convert.
Wear a Snake emblem with pride today.

Sir Terry Pratchett awakens. A skeleton stands at his bedside, wearing a long black robe. He sits up. “Well, hang on, let me get my hat,” he tells it.
The skeleton reaches into its robe. From abyssal depths it produces a heavy book bound in sheets of lead and night. It is the kind of book that gets stolen by a rugged adventurer from a temple with more spike-traps than the average house of worship contains. It is the kind of book to which the word “tome” might properly be applied. Frost forms on its pages from the lingering chill of the void.
The skeleton coughs once and holds the book out to the man sitting on the bed.
WOULD YOU SIGN THIS? it asks. BIG FAN.

Inspirational words. Indeed. In words.
30 Of The Best Terry Pratchett Quotes

We have compiled a list of Sir Terry Pratchett’s best quotes to remember him by. A fantasy author and creator of the Discworld, Terry was known for his uncanny sense of humor and quirky fashion sense.
Actor, Sir Tony Robinson remembers Pratchett as a “bit of a contradiction. He was incredibly flamboyant with his black hat and urban cowboy clothes.”
He also added, “Everybody who reads his work would agree Death was one of his finest creations - Terry in some way has now shaken hands with one of his greatest-ever creations.”
Whereas Pillip Pullman described his writing as pure humor. He said: ”There is nothing spiteful, nothing bitter or sarcastic in his humour.”
Read Sir Terry Pratchett’s best quotes below:
“Evil begins when you begin to treat people as things.” — Terry Pratchett, I Shall Wear Midnight

“The pen is mightier than the sword if the sword is very short, and the pen is very sharp.” ― Terry Pratchett
“The trouble with having an open mind, of course, is that people will insist on coming along and trying to put things in it.” ― Terry Pratchett, Diggers
