Hello, I’m Saja from Gaza 🇵🇸💔 I’m writing to you today during one of the hardest moments of my life… For months, we’ve been living under the fire of war 💣. The bombing never stops, and death follows us everywhere 🕊️. Destruction has become a daily scene in our lives 🏚️.

But war is not our only enemy… Prices have skyrocketed 💸🔥, and everything has become unaffordable. A loaf of bread 🍞, a box of milk 🥛, a bottle of water 🚰… have all become distant dreams. Even the most basic needs are no longer within reach. We survive on so little, trying to hold on despite the pain 😔.

My home is no longer the same 🏠❌, our lives have changed, and safety has vanished. My children no longer know peaceful sleep or full meals 🛏️🍽️. Every day brings a new danger, and every night we pray just to survive one more day 🙏.

This is a picture of my home after the bombing… Our dreams turned to rubble. 🧱💔

Right now, famine is hitting us harder than ever, my heart cries whenever I go to the market to buy any basic necessities! The prices are crazy, and most days my children survive on just bread Hunger and thirst are destroying us, and cooking on fire increases our suffering unbearably! Severe eye and chest sensitivity, in addition to constant stomach pain due to the type of food and the way it is cooked.

All this while we flee from one place to another in fear of bombing, bullets, and imminent danger! I cannot describe what I feel, but it is a feeling beyond exhaustion!

how do we feel about a book/movie fusion BUT... it's the mazes both combined/mixed together...the plots too... in slight depth or so... just wish for ur thoughts...a penny for ur thoughts :holds out bowl like oliver twist style:

I actually don’t believe the story from the first book/movie changes much from book to movie. If u think abt it, the movie starts and ends basically at the same spot the book does. BUT, if I remember correctly, it’s the small details of the maze that make the difference here, — like the existence of the flat trans in the books (which is such an interesting concept of technology I wish people would talk abt more often in the fandom) and the fact that thomas and the other gladers had to come up w other ways to find the end of the maze. if I remember correctly (again), in the books Thomas came up w the idea to use all the runners’ drawings in little papers of the maze sections to find a pattern and, somehow, get through the flat trans (or the griever’s hole, as the movie made them). In the movie Thomas and Minho just run around until they find the outer sections and follow the griever’s heart (or engine) until they find their way out.

SO, about the maze structure and what it would be nice to make a fusion of both book and movie, I’ll shoot my hot take: the movie set up, BUT including the flat trans at the end of the maze bc it’s a really cool thing. And NOT TO MENTION Teresa and Thomas’ telepathy bc it’s also another thing I just remembered they didn’t add in the movies and it’s a really big deal for me personally bc HOW COULDN’T THEY. IT’S SO IMPORTANT FOR THEIR RELATIONSHIP!!!! Friends, lovers, whatever. Their movie’s dynamic felt rushed and unexplained and I feel like having telepathic powers is such a strong reason for them to get close and know each other more.

So.. Scorch Trials. I don’t feel like I have much to say abt it (even though u didn’t even ask for it) but I really miss the whole Group A/Group B plot from the books in the movie, and how they simply made them unimportant characters (besides from Aris, who has at least some recognition at the beginning). i love that in the movie they didn’t film Thomas and the others still being held captive of Wicked’s plans/second phase; even if it was just as hard, they were simply running off looking for help from the right arm and not running towards a “cure” (that was not even real!!!) out of desperation bc they thought they were going to die. Mind you, a lot of them did at the way.

So, for this one I’d say a cool fusion would be the movie’s plot where they are running FROM Wicked and not FOR Wicked (if u understand me) + the group B being more important and describing more of their maze. And maybe not Teresa screwing them perhaps? Idk how bc she basically did that in the book too (at least for Thomas when she tried to kill him w the group B girls) but she was being controlled by Wicked by the chips (THE CHIPS OMG!!! ANOTHER THING!)

Now TDC!!!!! This is really where I wanted to get.

I honestly prefer the movie than the book this time. but let’s talk abt their differences. This is the one where we have them the most, but I’m going to focus on a simple one (and the most important): the whole movie plot for TDC is the one where Minho was captured and Thomas and the others go to the “Last City” to rescue him and take Wicked down on their way, ending up at Safe Haven w the Right Arm. While in the book, Thomas escapes from Wicked w Newt, Minho, Brenda and Jorge and they travel to Denver to get their chips removed, but Newt is the one who gets captured and is sent to the Crank Palace, bc, well, he’s turning into a crank. Then, they end up back at Wicked and back at the maze, where everything falls apart and they go through a flat trans to Safe Haven.

I think the perfect fusion of that would be (and this goes along with the TST fusion I made previously): Newt is the one that gets captured by Wicked, not Minho, and they use him to find a cure somehow even if he’s turning into a crank (there were some AUs of this scenario already running around Tumblr a while ago!). Thomas and the others go to the Last City to rescue him, but he’s already gone to the Crank Palace bc he’s no use to Wicked anymore. — add here the whole plot of the scene where Newt dies, and Thomas fights Wicked one last time. — SOMEHOW (don’t question me) the flat trans is the way to the safe haven, not the ship. and that’s it.

Ofc there are plot wholes here, but who cares I’m not perfect. And also ofc there are a LOT of things I didn’t mention: the grievers, those weird creatures at the end of the TST book, the cranks (for god’s sake, the cranks!). But it’s a lot. And it was also a lot for the movie makers, so I get why the movies ended up so different — it’s too much to add to such a short period of time.

But anyways, I hope this wasn’t confusing or has a lot of mistakes and that this was a good read and not boring at all. I would honestly be glad if anyone even read this far. But I hope u liked anon <3 again ty for the ask this really inspired me at 11:30pm when I should be sleeping for class tomorrow morning
