Hello everyone! I'll cut to the chase and give the tldr before going into further details under the cut. I am going to be archiving this art blog which means i will be leaving it up and not deleting anything, but I will not be posting new art here.

Im still going to be making art, and in the future you can find toku related doodles and other art at @gobuster.

As some of you may know, this past september I sustained a serious concussion which left me bedridden for over a month. I am currently at the point in my recovery where I am mostly back to normal, but neurologically it will still take a while for my brain to fully recover. Doing art during this period has been very difficult, especially since looking at screens for any period of time was extremely painful. I am now able to draw again and have been mainly drawing using pen and paper, but plan to ease back into digital art as well.

One thing about being bedridden for over a month and being unable to look at screens is that it means you have plenty of time to think about things. Ive thought a lot about my relationship with my art, about the art i dream of doing but have held myself back so long from starting, and about unhealthy mindsets when it comes to sharing my art online. Ive decided that I would like a fresh start, so I will be leaving this blog up as an archive of my art so far since i am trying to move forward and relearn drawing for the sake of drawing + loving the process of it.

I will most likely be creating another art blog for original work at some point but I have not made that blog currently, if you would like to stay updated on that you can follow my main blog @ankhisms

The challenge was originally: "make a poll with five of your all time favorite characters, and then tag five people to do the same. See which character is everyone’s favorite." But i decided to change it a little and do characters who are some of my favorites but who i dont draw as much or havent talked as much about recently (: plus limited myself to one character per show (or else itd just be the entire cast of a show lmao)

yes the mirror monsters the riders have contracts with would devour them in an instant but im never immune to the idea of them just being cute little animal friends. based off talking with friends in a server about this concept. one sketch on the second page is based off a behind the scenes picture of shinjis actor

its not a weird compliment at all! thank you so much, i love drawing expressions and trying to think of how each character might express themselves differently and how peoples smiles are different and wonderful (:
