Actors aren’t real (meaning I don’t follow them on social media) but. Kind of funny that Misha collins is very vocal about cas being a top. That’s psychological warfare on jensen ackles if I’ve ever seen it. Because jensen ackles would CLEARLY go no way IM the top but jensen ackles would also clearly never ever publicly go on record about dean Winchester’s fictional gay sex life. So his options are to say you’re wrong when Dean has gay sex he does it differently (big loss for jensen ackles) or stew silently on the fact that he cannot refute dean’s omegan sensibilities (big loss for jensen ackles) . August 9, 2021 - Destiel trends after the ship reaches 100k fics on AO3.

It's a big celebration today in the destiel fandom. Fans await Misha Collins' reaction to the news, as he's largely responsible for the influx of recently created works, as his tweet caused authors to write more than ever. Stats of number of fanfics per year here.

It took the writers 4707 days to reach 100k fics, which means that since Castiel's first episode 4x01 Lazarus Rising aired on 18 September 2008, on average there were 21.24 fics posted daily [x].

When AO3 destiel was still at 99,461 works, some calculations were made. The combined word count of these fics was over 811 million and with a reading speed of 200 words per minute, it would take one 7.71 years to read all of them with zero breaks for food or rest [x].

At the moment of my writing this text, there are 100,052 destiel fics in total on AO3. If one read one fic per day, regardless of the length, it would take them 274 years and 3 months to read all of them. If they wanted to be done in 10 years, they would have to read 24.4 fics a day. Let that sink in.
