Are you fluent in Korean?

You know this question is always hard to answer lmao but yeah, I’d say so. I can pay my bills, give directions, discuss politics and heart disease, drink with teachers and strangers, watch movies and whatnot. But I wouldn’t say I’m very proficient or super accurate in Korean. I still have to learn a lot of vocab but I’m at the speaking and reading ability where I can learn just by listening or through Korean explanation rather than needed a translation.

Weight Loss Resolution

Boyfriend told me to diet lol and while we fought about it, now it’s time to spite work out. 30 days of working out and eating well just to drop a few kgs so he shuts his mouth lol  So starting stats: Weight: 59kg Bust: 101 cm Waist: 72 cm Lower tummy: 86 cm Hips: 98 cm Thighs: 56 cm Current stats: Weight: 57.9 kgs Bust: 101 cm Waist: 69.5 cm Lower tummy: 83.5 cm Hips 98 cm Thighs: 56 cm 5 and almost 1kg gone in 4 days (i contribute this to the no sugar but)

Rest in Peace. You will be missed, our dear Jonghyun. Life may have been cruel now, but I hope you find another life where you’ll achieve your happiness. As y’all already know, I’ve made the move to Korea and I’ve started to vlog about it. This video isn’t too interesting but I’ve got some really great Korean language content coming your way soooo please like and subscribe.

Sometimes your dreams feel impossible. I’ve wanted to come to Korea for 8 years of a 20 year life and I’m here. I wake up to this every day, it’s wild man.

I’ve been in Korea for just about three months and the progress is slow but it’s there! I haven’t formally studied much outside of my 3 weeks at Ehwa so I need to hit the books.

Frankly very disappointed in Duolingo Korean thus far. The placement test I took had 4 mistakes that were obvious to even me (my korean isn't that good) and it can't pick a mode of formality to save it's life. It might be good for picking up vocab but take the grammar with a hefty grain of salt. I know that it’s beta and flaws are intended to be fixed, but I’m thus far unimpressed with this long awaited course. 

I haven’t done many lessons, I tested in around their half way point of the initial pretest, then proceeded to test out of another 10 skills (likely to test out of a few more along the way thanks to the weird order of things). The only actual lessons I’ve gone through are on the higher end, using noun-modifying forms with really irksome translations. My Korean is right but the rewriting it in English that’s giving me trouble. I found a few mistakes in the gerund lessons, etc. Over all, 5/10 :( Though its okay for the simple grammar and vocabulary acquisition, please please please supplement with other material and cross check

HELP MY FRIEND GET HER DOG BACK

My friend, Paulina, lost her dog this year and had posted on twitter asking people in her area to help.

Her tweet got retweeted enough for her to get a message from some guy named Alex who claims he actually has her dog.

He has since blocked Paulina and is saying he won’t give the dog back. He has even posted pictures with the dog and is acting like this is all a big joke.

Paulina is absolutely devastated. The police say they can’t help even though she has pictures of him with her dog and she has proof that she’s owned the dog for years.
