Do you guys ever think,
when Percy dies, Grover will die at the same time. But unlike the others, they'll never be reunited in Elysium because Grover's a satyr who never get into Elysium, they turn into a tree.
And, if Annabeth is outlives Percy, she won't just grieve the love of her life but one of her best friends as well, one of the first people who believed in her, outside of luke and thalia.
One more thing, When Percy dies at least Annabeth will know she gets to see him again in Elysium but she'll also have to live with the knowledge that she'll never see Grover again even in death.
And if you don't want to think abt this, then:
Then don't think about her throwing away the collection of tin cans she and Percy probably kept for Grover.
Don't think about her using something from a tin can and thinking "I'll save this for Grover" and then realizing she'll never get to give it to him.
Don't think about her never being able to eat blue food or enchiladas again.
Don't think about her and Juniper holding each other and crying.
Don't think about Juniper momentarily hating Annabeth for getting to see her husband after she dies before forgetting all about her anger because they both lost their loves, damn it!
Don't think about Annabeth "Always Six Foot Ahead" Chase knowing death is approaching and making a list of what she wants to be burnt with so that she can give them to everyone who she has ever cared about. Adding "Tin Cans and Enchiladas" in the list before breaking down again.
Don't think abt Percy reaching Elysium, being greeted by all of his friends, looking around for grover before registering why he wasn't there.
Don't think about him mourning his best friend, his brother even when in Eternal Paradise.
Don't think about it.

People are like Rick Riordan is such a great author who's not afraid to change status quo and ignore major flaws in his stories like JK Rowling and I'm like are you sure?
That sentiment might have worked if PJO was the only series in Riordanverse but with the addition of HOO and ToA it rings entirely false.
In PJO the major problem that needed to be tackled storytelling wise was Gods not claiming their children and their neglectful nature along with rise of Kronos.
Both those issues were ignored by Zeus and then in the end when they swore an oath on Styx, we assumed that it will be better.
However straight into HOO series from The Lost Hero, we see that Zeus did not change at all and instead made a bigger mess of events by closing Olympus and forbidding Gods from leaving Olympus. So we learn that not only does he ignores a problem that could potentially end the Gods twice???? but he's actively part of the problem.
The Gods could be better as a whole if they had someone competent in charge.
The Trials of Apollo series however changes the status quo entirely, the previous both series were from POV of demigods, so they and along with them we could only assume how Gods work and that the Gods neglecting demigods is a choice by them. But in ToA, Zeus goes from zero to hundred, not only is he a incompetent paranoid leader but he's also a tyrant and abuser. He abuses all his children and any disrespect results in huge punishment.
The Gods like a human family are stuck in a cycle of abuse but unlike in human family their abuser would not just die naturally one day. He is with them forever.
Apollo even identifies himself with Meg and thinks Zeus as a Beast for himself and yet no resolution is found at the end of the series and we just go on.
The Sun and the Star and The Chalice of Gods only continues the status quo.
True change of status quo and revolution would be Zeus being overthrown. In the root of both wars the major issue that causes high casualties is Zeus's carelessness.
I would love a book from Apollo's POV where he recruits his siblings and plans a revolution to overthrow Zeus because the immortal and mortal world and demigods, all of them would benefit being free of him.
TL;DR: Most of RR's writing has very similar problems as JKR's writing and even though I enjoy the PJO series more than HP series, I think RR fans should stop preaching holier than thou attitude.
JKR is problematic outside of her poor writing in HP (racism transphobia) and so is rick (with his neutral stance on genocide in palestine and playing both sides card, using this to promote his book, his islamophobic writing and not to forget how badly piper was wrote in TLH and she did not get much better until ToA)

“Traveling with a Cyclops,” Luke chided. “Talk about dishonoring Thalia’s memory! I’m surprised at you, Annabeth. You of all people-”
“Stop it!” she shouted.
I didn’t know what Luke was talking about, but Annabeth buried her head in her hands like she was about to cry.
“Leave her alone,” I said.
Annabeth is a lot better than me because if my older brother told me he literally poisoned the only connection to my dead sister and then accused me of being the one in the wrong, I'm pushing him off his damn yacht. No hesitation.

its very fun to draw Percy just casually wearing swim trunks for no reason, like he just wears them as normal shorts. but at the same time it's kind of hilarious because he. can just simply chose to not get his clothes wet. so there is absolutely zero reason for him to have to wear swim trunks. the implication is that he just does it for the aesthetics.

and NOW there are people saying Sally Jackson was SAd by Posideon nec Rick Riordan fucked up BOTH myths in the damn show. STOP IT STOP IT STOP IT. MEDUSA WAS ALWAYS A MONSTER IN GREEK MYTH. THE OVID MYTH (used in the show, which they also somehow made consensual? lmao?) WAS USED SPECIFICALLY TO SLANDER AMD DEFAME BOTH ATHENA AND POSIDEON BEC HE GETS KICKED OUT OF ATHENS (an area devoted to Athena)
There was no sexual assault of Medusa in the original myths. she was always a monster. Her head was a symbol of protection as it was an Apotropaic symbol used to ward off evil and EVEN IN the Roman Myth with Ovid, Medusa was never meant to be a symbol specifically for SA Survivors or women specifically as SA and Rape were viewed completely differently on a historical and archeological level and *cultural context* is so vastly important in being able to view and adapt the gods to modern day
there were GODDESSES who were protectors of women, and specifically women. MEDUSA was NOT one of them
when you go and fuck up myths like this in your retellings, when you now say that Sally Jackson was an SA Victim of Posideon "just like Medusa" and that Medusa was "protecting her" noooo. NOOOOO

Top criticisms of Rick Riordan as a writer
Oh god I could go on a rant for like hours about this guy. My one main problem of many with him how he represents characters. Samirah who was a Muslim character, took her scarf off in front of random boys and was in an arranged marriage with a guy who is considered an adult. Leo and Reyna were Hispanic and were in an abusive family household and Leo was also portrayed to be constantly flirty like stereotypical Hispanic things. Frank was was the only chubby character but he was constantly look down on and hated himself until he became buff randomly. Drew, Silena and Khione were the only feminine characters along side Calypso and all of them either were traitors or villains or just plain annoying. There are so many things about Piper I could rant on but I’ll save it for now. Annabeth who grew up in CHB, aka the place where the BLONDE Athena kids were the smartest yet she was talking about how everyone thinks she is stupid at Camp for her blonde hair? Since the whole stereotype thing of blonde people being stupid which is a complete lie since my blonde friend is one of the smartest person I know. The only good series in my eyes were the Percy Jackson and the Olympians. After that the characters, especially the girls, had constant similarities in their personalities. All most girls were selfless, brave, badass, confident and so on. Also as much as I love the Pjo series, the portrayal of Greek Mythology was incorrect.

"rejected by hera. rejected by aphrodite" ???? my good dude yall seem to keep forgetting that it wasn't "😔 aphrodite cheated on poor hephestus" it was "aphrodite was FORCED to marry Hephestus and she took her own autonomy back and CHOSE Ares" I'm ngl I really dislike how Rick Riordan portrays female characters, *especially* the goddesses.

Piper: Percy, what's your type?
Percy: Annabeth
Piper: That's sweet.
Thalia: It's also a lie, his type is blonds
Percy: That's not true!
Thalia: The first person you ever had a crush on was a blond man.
Percy: I met Annabeth long before I met Jason.
Leo: *spews water* Jason???
Thalia: I was talking about Luke.
Percy: I never had a crush on Luke!?!
Thalia: That's bullshit.
Leo: Are we gonna talk about the Jason thing or... No....? Okay.
Percy: No it's not!
Connor: It most definitely is.
Percy: What?
Travis: You blushed every time you were around him.
Percy: I- I did not!
Clarisse: Yeah you did.
Percy: No....?
Nico: Even the way you talked about him sometimes I could tell you had a crush on him at one point.
Percy: *flabbergasted* I- I huh???
Percy: Did I????
Annabeth: *walks over* Hey Perce can you- What did you guys do to him?
Percy: *wide eyed staring at the ground, mumbling incoherently*
Thalia: He's having an existential crisis, give him a minute.

Luke and Annabeth's relationship in the books is so...like messy and weird. Like they clearly feel for each other though we might argue its in all the worst ways but also it was that connection that ended the war !? Like there was something genuine there.
the more i think about the luke and annabeth dynamic, the more i hate it. yes, it’s genuine to a certain degree and eventually mutual, which is what makes me so uncomfortable
and i hate how, in front of percy, annabeth ends up telling luke that she sees him as a brother, but then in mark of athena states that she had romantic feelings for him. so it makes it seem like she lied to make percy feel better.
the entire thing just makes me so violently uncomfortable.
and to be clear, i’m never mad at annabeth. she’s the victim here in so many ways. i just hate the entire situation for existing
annabeth having a crush on luke is one thing. he’s good looking and protected her and was like her family. i get it. i understand why she kept wanting to see the good in him. but why did it have to be romantic? and why did she have to snap at percy every time he hated on the guy who betrayed him and keeps trying to kill him and his friends and family? and why, why did luke have to feel the same way back?? he’s in his 20s and she’s barely 16, the last time he spent time with her she was 12 (oh, unless you count when he held her hostage and forced her to hold up the world, then she was a senior citizen at the age of 14.) up until he admitted he felt the same way, it was a complex issue full of sensitive and conflicting emotions that was somewhat understandable. but when he admitted he loved her too? romantically? that is what messed everything up. it made the entire thing become SO weird.
