for the group i pulled the 7 of pentacles and the star;

a humble group, waiting patiently for cultivation, shines brightest and transcends in the dark. They just need to keep their origins in mind

for jiwoong i pulled strength, queen of wands, and nine of cups;

A refined conscience, jiwoong is au natural (thanks for confirmation), he's commanding but also not afraid to get his hands dirty, and he's also in connection quite well with his spiritual side. also: victory! he's done it. he needs to remember to continue giving back to his community though; they helped him.

for hao, i pulled the wheel of fortune and the eight of wands;

ups and downs and change is definitely something he's used to, and they'll continue, but he's ambitious, plowing through the downs to get to the ups. change leads to swift growth.

for hanbin i pulled the 6 of swords, and the queen of wands;

OH BOY OH BOY. made to be leader!! he's commanding but soft, and he leads the way when needed. like jiwoong, he's commanding when he needs to be, but works really hard right beside them.

for taerae i pulled 3 and 8 of wands;

this man is so balanced i swear. he's confident in his abilities and like hao, extremely ambitious. the only difference is he's ambitious because he knows his abilities can truly take him far.

for matthew i pulled the wheel of fortune, 4 of pentacles, 2 of cups, and 5 of swords;

again, the ups and downs and changes are familiar to him, but none of the ups and downs are monetary. he's comfortable, to say the least. this man is so bubbly, the amount of good relationships he has is...crazy. an ominous warning, though: figure out a new strategy for whatever "battle" there was, the last one didn't work out.

for gyuvin i pulled 5 of pentacles, and the hierophant;

wbk this man is rich. but he also wants more, classic human greed. and then he's learning, either learning new things like knowledge-wise, or he's learning to give back. the latter is highly recommended.

for ricky i pulled the magician, the page of swords, and the knight of pentacles;

healing? maybe seeking to connect more with those who came before him. A messenger likely will visit soon, though it will be someone close, with the message that you shouldn't hurry time. be patient, good things come to those who wait.

for gunwook i pulled the king of wands, the wheel of fortune, and the queen of swords;

a classic textbook charismatic leader, entrepreneurial and ambitious. he's accustomed to change, and a recent change will make him sensitive. he'll be urged to conform, but that's not him. he's intelligent, too, but that can be uncomfortable to other people.

for yujin i pulled the four of swords, queen of wands, queen of cups, and the ace of cups;

dude. take a break. rest, seriously. visit your grandma or something. he almost works too hard, focusing on everyone else's feelings and emotions over his own, one way or another you'll overflow soon. thank you deck for showing yujin is like every teenager ever.

for the group i pulled the reversal of four of cups and the reversal of the magician;

letting go of regret, or seizing the moment, they're focused, but they have some unused abilities.

for bang chan i pulled 9 of cups, four of swords, the lovers and queen of cups;

his wishes are coming true, success and abundance are on their way, he has some stress, and some anxiety, but he has some kindred spirits near him, and he's loving and warm towards them, and hes definitely creative.

for lee know i pulled the hierophant, the empress, temperance, the devil, the fool, and the four of pentacles;

there's some traditional values in him, but some of that is pushed aside for him to be more in touch with his "feminine side." He's patient, especially through mental health issues, but that can make him aloof sometimes. and there's definitely some wealth approaching him.

for changbin i pulled the chariot and the eight of cups;

Success will come with hard work; but that success may have to come with some sacrifices. These sacrifices may take some courage, and they may not be easy decisions, but they are the right ones.

for hyunjin i pulled the ace of swords, the six of wands, the page of cups, the ace of pentacles, and the ten of cups;

Some good intellectual ability, along with mental clarity, and the mental clarity comes with triumph, and some good things coming his way. He expresses his inner child well, and this may come with some financial beginnings. Happiness is on it's way.

Financial stability and/or wealth, but some sadness, more so relating to grief. But this is overcome easily, happiness being the next step. New ideas and projects are coming for him, but the ideas may require a bit of patience to get to the end.

Of course, sunshine, happiness, reunions are afoot. but only after some fatigue and struggle with this he feels trapped, and he needs to let go of anything holding him back. With the happiness comes wealth and contentment.

He's sensitive, but caring and gentle, and he's definitely a gentleman. He's protective of those close to him, and has stability and dependability. He's close with his father-figure.

He has a lot of opinions and with these opinions come choices, all leading to different opportunities; he should choose carefully. In every decision, there's hope for him, and he'd be content in any one. A happy reunion is soon, but he has to be patient, and should work hard for it.

self-evaluation, so basically he reflects on himself a lot. he has composure and decisiveness but misses home. he's quick to his judgments but forgives easily.

he's hasty, adventurous, energetic, and charming. he's fearless, confident, self-assured, a free spirit, and open-minded.

for xiaojun i pulled justice and the wheel of fortune;

he has a strong sense of justice and knows the consequences of his actions, he's honest and tells the truth, he has good luck, good karma, and has a very good chance for fortune.

good news is coming. he's also cheerful, childlike, playful, and optimistic. he has bright ideas and is creative, charismatic, free-thinking, confident, intelligent, extroverted, and fearless.

my deck is calling 127 chaotic. i pulled this card and just started laughing it was so funny to me for absolutely no reason.

for taeyong i pulled the emperor;

father figure. thats literally just it. i mean yeah he's dependable, is structured, protective, logical, and practical but he's literally a father figure.

for taeil i pulled judgment;

he self-evaluates a lot, but he has composure. he's decisive and makes quick judgments and forgives easily, but he's homesick.

for johnny i pulled the four of wands;

reunions, community, teamwork, success, prosperity, pride, and security are all possible meanings. i feel like it makes sense, the success, and pride. we all know he's prideful.

for yuta i pulled the six of swords;

he's healing, overcoming hardship, and is beginning to experience some stability, usually when i pull this card i feel someone next to me like a spirit guide or something, but my dog started barking and then stopped when i pulled it/put it away. (yuta has a spirit guide and that's a dog lmao)

had a solid beginning, and should take advantage of opportunities. he's consistent in things he does, ambitious, loyal, dependable and has a healthy lifestyle. overall good here.

i giggled im sorry. hes innocent, has freedom, originality. but also foolishness and idealism. he's spontaneous and has a lack of commitment.

Major decisions probably should be set aside right now, as there are too many options, but this major decision may be a sacrifice

opposition. although there are more people in the opposition, he has the upper hand. although this opposition will be embarrassing for a while

he's patient, although defensive, stubborn, and ambitious. he's a hard worker and will make is dreams come true with persistence.

the first group is seventeen bcs why not.

for seventeen as a whole i pulled the lovers;

the lovers i found interesting, its a card that to me symbolizes a deep relationship and a bond that is being stressed.

for our leader cheol i pulled the nine of pentacles:

nine of pentacles is a card of wealth, of luxury, but also maybe of financial acceptance.

for jeonghan i pulled the four of pentacles;

four of pentacles is a card of nobility; a man sits with a town to his back, his feet resting on two pentacles.

for joshua i pulled the emperor;

a strong, independent man sits atop his throne. the emperor card suggests stability, dependability, and maybe even that joshua would make a good dad lol. (i think my tarot decks bias is joshua)

for jun i pulled the five of wands:

five of wands is conflict, temper, pent up energy/emotions. i felt bad pulling this card for jun but its what they said.

for soonyoung i pulled the three of pentacles;

three of pentacles is a card for the future, good things are to come, especially in terms of a learning opportunity, collaboration, a lot of hard work paying off (awards?)

for wonwoo i pulled the knight of swords;

he’s ambitious, charging to his goal and nothing in his way can stop him. but when adversity comes, hes quick to make a good decision.

for jihoon i pulled the seven of wands:

i also pulled the devil as a minor card and so this can only mean one thing: conflict. and a bad one. but hes standing up for himself, hes standing his ground, and some would say hes a scapegoat in this situation.

for seokmin i pulled the sun;

It made me laugh when i pulled this, im not going to lie. hes a sunshine, thats for sure. hes a positive energy with good self-expression exceptional luck. he tells the truth (aka hes a bad liar) and hes open with the people he cares about.

for mingyu i pulled the ten of swords;

i felt uneasy. i wanted to pull another card but this was the nail on the coffin, literally. martyr, scapegoat, backstabbed, an inability to cope, doormat, attention seeker.

for minghao i actually pulled three cards (they all fell and landed upright to my shock) the knight of cups, the seven of cups, the six of swords

financial luck, wealth, but also pride, and hes healing, overcoming something, but maybe that six of swords is financial stability, or an upcoming holiday/vacation.

for vernon i pulled two: the hierophant and four of pentacles;

(for four of pentacles, see jeonghans) the hierophant is one of my favorite cards to pull, which to me is both a symbol of spirituality and values; he has strong values that stay with the norms he was taught, but isn’t afraid to stray from the path and make his own.

for seungkwan i pulled the empress;

one of my favorites of the major arcana, the empress says to me creativity, it tells me hes in touch with nature and in tune with his creative side, but also not afraid to let go of masculine stereotypes, be more in touch with his “feminine” side.

for chan i pulled three cards: the reversal of seven of cups, 8 of cups and 2 of pentacles;

i didn’t know what to do when i pulled these. 8 of cups is abandonment, disappointment but with the 2 of pentacles hes looking for balance, and with the reversal of seven of cups, theres reality and clarity.

Witchcraft Supplies & Tools (Grimoire Excerpt)

The most important thing to note when getting into witchery is that supplies are anything at your disposal. You don’t need fancy materials, fresh herbs rather than dried ones, a whole table dedicated to your Craft, or anything like that. A simple candle or a small necklace is more than enough. Whatever feels right to you works. Whatever you have space for works. Whatever you have the budget for works. Spirituality is meant to mold itself to your life, the other way around.

That said, here is a very broad list of common supplies and materials across many paths and beliefs. Keep in mind that you might not use these for one reason or another - whether it be you feel it’s not your journey or you cannot access it; no matter the reason, use what works for you.

- Candles (in a variety of colors) - Incense - Jars, bottles, boxes - Bowls, cups, chalices - Mortar & pestle - Bags or satchels - Crystals (especially quartz) - Herbs (especially rosemary or sage, dried or fresh) - Plants or seeds - Notebooks or journals - Salt (sea salt, Himalayan salt, black salt) - Symbols (pentacle, pentagram, cross, ankh, whatever feels right) - Water - Cutting tools (knives, blades, athames, etc) - Divination tools (tarot cards, bones, pendulums, etc) - Seasonal items (pumpkins for Autumn, flowers for Spring, sun symbols for Summer, etc) - Clothes of a certain style or a set ritual set of clothes (depends on your practice) - Besom or broom - Wands (can be bought or handmade, materials vary; some witches use pointed crystals, others use wood wands, some use branches, etc) - Food or plant waste (egg shells, flower petals, dead plants, bones, fruit peels, etc) - Poppets or dolls

Again, none of this has to be fancy or expensive. I highly recommend checking out your local dollar store, thrift stores, or second-hand shops and apps.

It’s also important to keep in mind that you don’t need all of this all at once before engaging in Witchcraft. Work with what you have and allow yourself time to learn, space to grow, and flexibility in your Craft. This is especially important for beginner Witches who feel they aren’t x enough. You don’t have to be anything but yourself.

WHAT IS SPIRIT WORK?

▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬

spirit work is how it sounds, working with spirits. these spirits can be spirits of plants, people, animals, mythical beings/creatures, familiars, and otherworldly spirits. it is communing with these spirits, building a relationship with them (forming trust) and asking for their aid (be that in protection, spell work, etc). 

TYPES OF SPIRITS ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬

now i should preface this with the types and branching of spirits is vast and wide, and it is dependent on culture, tradition, and religion. i am going to be focusing on animism and the undead spirits, but i will briefly touch on other important/highlighted entities. 

:  ̗̀➛ plant/flora spirits; spirits that are of trees, plants, flowers, rocks, etc. things found in nature that aren’t mammals or animals. most common/popular examples being nymph spirits.

:  ̗̀➛ animal/fauna spirits; spirits of mammals, bugs, birds, and reptiles - spirits of the animal kingdom excluding humans. 

:  ̗̀➛ house/domestic spirits; house spirits have the potential and possibility to be human, but they can also be non-human. domestic spirits (in rome they’re called domestici lares) are guardians of a household and generally the protectors of the home and even the hearth (depending on mythos and region). a common/popular example being saints. 

:  ̗̀➛ tutelary spirits; tutelary/guardian spirits are exactly how they sound, they’re guardians. these spirits can be guardians of a specific place (like a temple or holy ground, see Shi lions), graveyards (this can be any spirit but the most famous is a gargoyle), or of a person (like guardian angels, but any spirit could be a guardian, such as gryphs)

:  ̗̀➛ human spirits/shades; a human soul can and is defined many ways and varies from person to person and tradition to tradition, but human spirits (aka shades, ghosts, etc) can and do reside in our realm alongside the spirit realm (via transport, normally by liminal spots or the aid of a psychopomp, but some can travel on their own). 

:  ̗̀➛ vampiric spirits; vampiric spirits are spirits who drain energy in order to survive or gain strength. back in the day they were known to cause sickness, health issues, and low immune systems, etc. most common/well known spirits are vampires/vampyres, succubi/incubi, some umbra/shadow people, and as i like to call them - dream wyrms. 

:  ̗̀➛ infernus spirits; infernus spirits are those relating to the underworld, this can at times overlap into the demonic, but not all of the demonic are infernus. infernus spirits are mostly those who aid as psychopomps, but they can be the servants and attendants of infernal or chthonic deities. 

:  ̗̀➛ mythical creature spirits; mythical creatures or legendary beasts are those who are not of this plane and reside in the spiritual world. some can be worked with while some cannot (such as faer folk, a note about faer folk is that it’s best to just leave them alone, or yokai). 

:  ̗̀➛ familiar spirits; familiars are spirits/entities who are shapeshifters and sometimes called demons who create a pact with a practitioner/witch/mage/etc. in order to aid them in magical practice and even protection. 

BASICS OF SPIRIT WORK

▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬

it’s important to know and note the basics of spirit work in order to start spirit work. so here are the foundations of what is needed to know for proper and safe spirit work. 

section i. cleansing

let’s firstly begin with what cleansing is and why witches do it. cleansing is a way of forcing negative energy out of an area or person. cleansing is an act that is sort of like a reset button. think of it like showering! you shower because during the day you collected dust, dirt, sweat, etc. and you want to be clean so you take a shower! cleansing is similar, you collect negative energy from weeks of active or inactive craftmenship and even spirits or other entities can latch onto you and your home which then drains your energy. cleansing is needed to keep your space clean and easy to manage energies. it’s important to cleanse yourself, your space and even items. cleansing is important for all magic arguably, but especially spirit work. there are plenty of methods to cleanse, the most popular is smoke (do note it’s important to not smudge smudging is a closed practice to natives and indigenous in north america). but there are other methods such as sound, air/wind, energy work, and water. 

section ii. banishing

banishing is also an important skill to have in your back pocket. banishing is is a more forceful means of cleansing. it’s to forcefully remove an entity and less “nice”. banishing can be done in rituals, spells, using fire (writing the name or being down and burning the paper), air (writing the name or being down and tossing it in the wind), earth (writing the name or being down and burying it), water (writing the name down and tossing it in the sea or river, drowning the paper, etc), etc! loads of ways to banish and more i didn’t mention! 

section iii. grounding

grounding is an extremely important part of spirit work. grounding keeps you in a stable mindset and energy wise keeps you balanced. ways of grounding can be dancing, shaking your hands and feet, stomping/jumping, meditating, taking a walk, listening to music, etc. 

section iv. circle casting/closing

circle casting is important, especially for beginners, it creates a wall and safe zone for yourself and the spirit. one of the easiest ways (physical circles) is to pour a circle of salt around you, candles or crystals at four points (in the position of a pentacle), etc. as far as mental/energy ones, some use their finger or a wand and do a complete circle around them, or, a circle and a pentacle (pentagram). while casting circles some people call upon and evoke deities, angels, the watchers/watch towers, spirit guides, elements, etc. for protection and ensuring safety. some believe you must cast a circle starting north and finish at west, some don’t. no matter where you start the circle you must start and end the circle at the same point, going the opposite direction than what you started with when casting, will close the circle. so if i casted my circle clockwise, i would close it counterclockwise and end at the same point i started with. 

section v. further protection

casting a circle isn’t the only method of protection that should be precautioned, there are also the means of protection such as layering warding (which is a lesson in itself). some examples of warding are; energetic wards, spell jars, spell bags, charms, crystals, sigils, and house guardians to name a few. you can also veil during spirit work, but it’s not necessary. 

section vi. boundaries

setting boundaries with spirits is super important, especially if they’re staying long term (but even if it’s short term have boundaries!) so say you don’t like it when spirits knock, establish the boundary politely of “i don’t like it when you knock at night or during the day, so please don’t do that.” remember, be polite, but be firm too. and if you want a spirit gone tell them sternly! 

section vii. what are vessels?

vessels are what ground spirits and help to stabilize them in our plane, a vessel can be anything too, such as jewelry, dolls, a pen, bones, literally anything. an anchor is similar to a vessel, but an anchor doesn’t “house” the spirit, more so provides it a free range and source of stability. conduits channel the spirits energy, it can be symbols, sigils or other iconography to channel and then utilize a spirits energy. these are all important tools and things to know when it comes to spirit work.

:  ̗̀➛don’t forget to feed and provide energy for any vampiric or even familiar spirits

:  ̗̀➛ make a schedule if you really need to/set reminders on when communication is and isn’t ok

:  ̗̀➛ don’t sell, show, or give away spirits 

House Spirits 

:  ̗̀➛ be polite 

: ̗̀➛ treat them like you would treat a living breathing human 

: ̗̀➛ when entering a house, i normally like to whisper a quiet greeting or even in my mind saying “hello”, “good day”, “good afternoon”, “good morning” etc. 

: ̗̀➛ depending on your belief, greet the house guardian 

: ̗̀➛ light a candle to them, do divination, learn about them! 

Graveyard

 : ̗̀➛ don’t take what’s not yours, it’s impolite 

: ̗̀➛ have manners, people from all centuries probably reside there 

: ̗̀➛ greet & give offerings to the guardian at the front gate (this can be a tree, a specific spirit, animal spirits, etc.) 

: ̗̀➛ treat them like they’re people 

: ̗̀➛ dont step on the grass (this is respectful to the dead and their families) 

Landmarks (i.e. lakes, forest, plains, oceans, etc.) 

: ̗̀➛ introduce yourself & say a greeting 

: ̗̀➛ spend quality time & respect boundaries

 : ̗̀➛ offer things that will benefit them / the area (i.e. water, compost, etc)

Putting Things Under Your pillow

By putting certain things underneath your pillow, you will allow those metaphysical properties to interact with your dreams and being throughout the night when you sleep upon that pillow. Here is a small list of constructs you can put underneath your pillow that will provide you with specific kna, minds states, and physical stimuli throughout the night based on what they are:

Lapis lazuli is placed under your pillow for awareness of your dreams and the vividness of those dreams.

Clear quartz to wake up with more kna after you awake from your sleep.

Bayleaf to have more prophetic dreams.

Chamomile to promote relaxation and good dreams.

Rose petals to bring love into your waking life.

Peppermint to promote relaxation and vivid dreams.

Lavender to promote calm and for you to sleep well.

Anise to prevent nightmares.

Rosemary to prevent nightmares and to bring deep sleep.

Garlic to promote good sleep.

You can put a blade of grass or a leaf underneath your pillow to promote growth and change in your waking life.

Money for wealth and prosperity in your waking life.

A Picture of someone to connect with them better.

A name of someone to connect with them better.

You can put all manner of sigils underneath your pillow to get the effect of that Sigil into your dreams and waking life.
