RE: My last reblog, I do plan to get a com sheet put together sooner or later, I just haven’t had the time because I just started a new job and worked almost everyday the past week (training) - but come Wednesday my training will be over so I’ll be part time from then out…

First day of my new job this week resulted in a violent death and trauma response counselors being called for folks… I work in caregiving, so it was just REALLY REALLY REALLY bad luck, and the first time anything of the sort had EVER happened at the facility in the 30+ years they’ve been open… Overall I’m doing mostly okay, I’ve been through a lot and been through therapy to recover from it, so I have pretty thick skin about potentially traumatic events… But all the same it dug open some older fears and older scars for a couple days, so I’m kinda stepping away from social media until I don’t feel so fragile…

That said! I am writing some things!!! I guess writing sickfic and whump helps me process things like this haha…

The hero shows up at the villain’s doorstep one night. They’re shivering, bleeding, scared. There’s also a slightly dazed look in their eyes– they were drugged. They look like they were assaulted. Looking up at the villain, swaying slightly as they’re close to passing out, they mumble “…didn’t know where else to go…” then collapse into the villain’s arms.

A whumpee who lives with intense chronic pain, and whose perception of pain is all skewed.

Their daily pain baseline would be enough to force a healthy person to take a day off.

So when they seek medical help for something visibly wrong and extremely painful (a badly broken bone, a horribly dislocated joint, a nasty cut, a burst appendix), they're just. Unphased.

And when the doctors ask them to rate their pain on a scale from 1 to 10, they'd just shrug and go "Meh, 7. I've been better, but also worse"

"Whumpee, your femur is not even remotely where it's supposed to be."

"...7 and a half tops."

Geraskier whump based on a post from @whumpprentice - Geralt breaks his stoicism when Jask is unwell and Jaskier just immediately jumps to the assumption he's actively dying. He just has a cold... Probably.
