Sentinel really pulled a ‘nuh-uh’ and therefore became my favourite character in the film.

I do not care what anyone says, he’s the best character in TF: One. I don’t care that he’s a scumbag, he is magnificently written.

Okay, I haven't watched the JWCC Season 3 trailer yet (reason I haven't watched Season 2 yet. Oops), but seeing the Pyroraptor on the thumbnail is a big yes.

For those who haven't seen a previous post of mine, I have two OCs for the series: Jessie (the seventh camper) and Razor (a Pyroraptor). And seeing the OG Pyroraptor from Dominion is something I've wanted so badly to appear due to my own planning for my fanfic.

Now, bit of spoilers for my fanfic, but Razor becomes the only one of her pack to get onto the mainland (at least the only one known), and Jessie begins to keep an eye on her, look after her, etc. But then shit happens (of course).

Depending if I make the Pyroraptor from Dominion one of her pack members or the canon BioSyn one, the potential fight to protect/ally/attempt to kill will remain the same, just without the emotional weight.

It's honestly a bit mind-boggling to me to think Zach and Gray were so close to joining the Camp Fam. If circumstances were different, they would've been with the rest of them when the Indominous broke out, possibly even ended up stuck on the island as well, or could've been the reason the others got off the island with everyone else.

A Wolf Is Wild - Character Concepts

Some character concepts for the comic, A Wolf Is Wild.

Most of these are main characters or characters who play a major role, all except for Anika. She's only got very few planned appearances, but nothing too major.

Fun fact: all except Antirr are wolves based upon characters I've created and played as on WolfQuest Anniversary Edition.

I'm also planning on giving some of my Wolves of the Gems and A Phantom's Tale characters a few cameos, so stay tuned for that. (BTW, WOTG and AWIW are not in the same universe, just wanna give those characters some love since I likely won't return to those stories).

I Already Hate Jurassic World: Rebirth. Here's Why.

I know I'm late to the party, but I am not looking forward to Jurassic World Rebirth. And my dislike for it grows the more times I watch the trailer.

First time I watched it, I was very underwhelmed. Honestly, all I could imagine was it was just a big budget Asylum film, though less interesting.

The look of the Spinosaur-like dinosaurs is just, ew. Normally I'm all for realistic looking dinosaurs (its why the Pyroraptor is my favourite in the Jurassic Park/World franchise), but this time, I just miss the old Spinosaur design. I, like many others, wanted to see the big scary Spinosaur from Jurassic Park 3 and Season 4 & 5 of Camp Cretaceous again, so these versions are very much a disappointment.

Next is the hybrid. I'm not annoyed at the hybrid in a world building sense, more the design of it. From what I've seen, it's just a big version of the Future Predator from Primeval.

Now, here's the thing that makes me want to cry. There's a lot of dinosaurs in the franchise I would not miss. Yes, I like a lot, especially Bumpy and Toro, and even the half blind Allosaurus. But one I adore is of course Rexy. The big girl who's been there since the first film. And if she's dead, that's it. Not only am I going off reports and articles saying that a lot of dinosaurs are dead, but also the first scene in the trailer.

Let's talk about that first scene. Opening with a T-Rex skeleton (let's hope fossil though) with the When Dinosaurs Ruled The Earth banner behind it, mirroring that famous scene in the first film. I am certainly hoping that is not the skeleton of Rexy, but the factual side of me is saying it is. Rexy deserves to live a long life, have a family and die peacefully, and NOT be used as a spectacle again.

Let's move away from the potential tears and onto the 'we're going back to the island' storyline. Why? Just why are we going back to the islands? Could no one at Universal come up with another story. After Fallen Kingdom, we moved firmly away from the islands. So why are we going back? It's like someone wrote into ChatGPT or Gemini 'write me a new Jurassic World script' and this was what it provided.

I want this movie to blow my expectations (though considering how low they are, it shouldn't be hard. Right?). I love the Jurassic Park/World franchise. It and The Isle are some of my biggest inspirations for a dinosaur book I'm working on. One of my favourite OCs is in a Camp Cretaceous fanfiction. I'm not a hater of the franchise as a whole.

But...

Jurassic World: Dominion, whether you like it or not, it ended well. Blue is safe with Beta, Rexy avenged her ancestor and now has a newfound family. It could've should've been left for the fandom to continue on the story. It did not need and still does not need a canon continuation.

Do I hope to be proven wrong? Yes! Absolutely! I hope the fossil of the T-Rex is just that, a fossil of a 66 million year old dinosaur. Do I want to see more world building into the franchise? Of fricking course! I want to know how that hybrid came to be. I want to know why dinosaurs are dying and if they can fix it. I want to see more raptors chasing unlucky side-characters, I wanna hear those adorable Dilophosaurus again.

Do I care if this film is a cash grab? Not really. If it handles the pre-placed story carefully and with respect, then good on it for making money.

Finally, if they do end up killing off Rexy, I hope they don't do it off-screen. Let the fans say goodbye to her, let us be there, no matter how heartbreaking it is. She is part of some of the most iconic scenes in movie history, it's her roar that's used for many other movies and series with a Tyrannosaurus Rex. Killing her off-screen would be an insult, to her, to fans and to movie lovers.

Now, I'm gonna wipe away my tears and hope they're just a waste, because I really wanna be proven wrong about my theory. I desperately do.

Just watched the newest How To Train Your Dragon trailer, and once again, I praise the visuals, I praise the acting. However, I am still terrified that this will just end up being a copy & paste of the original, animated version.

Unless you can improve upon the original story, don't bother making it.

(btw, I really do hope the trailers are screwing with us and this is a great film which dives deeper into the storytelling, the worldbuilding, etc. I want this to be amazing)

New How To Train Your Dragon trailer just dropped. My thoughts?

The dragon designs look really cool, and I mean really cool. Stormfire looks amazing as does Hookfang.

But this trailer still hasn’t eased my fears that this is just going to be a copy and paste live action film. I am hoping they’re just showing off scenes we know from the original to hide the new scenes that would appear in the new film.

When people say the aliens from A Quiet Place are terrifying and original

Let me introduce to you the nightmare fuel that is Primeval’s Future Predator.

This thing gave me so many nightmares as a kid and was the reason I have never been scared of the Death Angel.

Future Predator:

It’s extremely fast

Hunts using echolocation

Is extremely adaptive

Is the reason/one of the reasons humanity became extinct

Terrifyingly sneaky

Death Angel:

It’s fast

Hunts using sound or some form of echolocation

Is the reason humanity is facing extinction

Seems to be armour-plated

Can smash through walls

Both do face the weakness of high-pitched noises. In a one-on-one battle, I do believe the Death Angel would come out on top, mainly due to size and it’s armour-plating/thicker skin, but that doesn’t mean I find it more terrifying.
