My Harry Fanfics
I am so delighted and happy that Meghan and Harry are now engaged! They are perfect for each other and you can clearly see the love they share which warms my heart so much as this is the love I have always wanted for Harry! They are truly a remarkable couple and team and cannot wait to see what they shape the British Monarchy in the future with their adorable little kids running around with them💕
I have the upmost respect for them and wish them a very long life filled with love and happiness together!
But in terms of my stories that I am writing I WILL BE CONTINUING them until I no longer have the desire to write them. Each one of my fics with Harry has a different relationship that I want to continue to explore and write about and ultimately is my escape from reality. Me continuing writing does NOT mean I am disrespecting this perfect couple, I just want to make that very clear.
I hope that all my readers that want to stay on this journey with me will continue following along so I can write their own happy ending like Harry and Meghan had just done today❤️
~Emily

Chapter Six

A/N: I apologize for not updating as frequently but here is the next chapter! I hope you enjoy it! I would love to hear what you think of it, good or bad!
“I want you to come with us! It will do you good Soph.” Rowan tried her best to convince Sophia that a vacation would do her some good. “What can a little sun hurt?”
Standing on her tippy toes Sophia grabbed a box from the top shelf placing it in her grocery cart. The squeaky wheels drug along the waxed white flooring as she continued to check off the items on her grocery list.
“I don’t know Rowe.” She dragged out undecidedly.
“It’s last minute I know, but someone cancelled and I swear it is not a couple’s trip.” Her friend was relentless in her persuasion; after all she was a lawyer and could win the toughest cases or any argument. “It will be a good escape for a few days Sophia.”
Rowan did have a point; maybe a little vacation would not be such a terrible idea. Her parent’s separation had somehow made its way to the front pages of the SUN, causing nothing but more strife between members of her family. Blaming Sophia’s mother for the leak, her father decided to release his own statement in hopes to save face in the public eye claiming that their marriage was stronger than ever.
Image was everything to her father; going to great lengths to cultivate the image of the perfect British family, one that was better fit to rule than the tumultuous Windsor clan that sat upon it’s throne. Sophia played her part along with the rest of her family; part of the reason why she had ran away from the prince a few weeks ago. The disapproving look on her father’s face haunted her, no matter how hard she tried to get it out of her head Sophia knew she could never be with Harry.
Harry had been right, but she could not admit to the fear her father held over her head; he would not understand her feelings she held for the prince. They simply could not be together, in any sort of form. That didn’t mean it was any easier for her to get the prince out of her mind. He lingered there, invading her thoughts day-to-day replaying the way he kissed her that night in her mind.
Her mind was in a daze, reminding her again of the way he held her hand of how it fit into his grasp like the perfect puzzle piece. The sweet scent of him burned in her nose as her heart skipped a beat…
Bumping into someone’s cart, her thoughts were rudely interrupted from their daydreaming. “I’m sorry sir…” Apologizing profusely, Sophia realized she was still on the phone with Rowan.
“Ok ok. I will come…” Sophia reluctantly agreed through pursed lips. Rowan’s loud squeals of happiness rang in her ear loudly.
“I will tell the crew that you are going! Ben’s friends are amazing and he will be so happy you are coming to celebrate his birthday! We are leaving in two days, quite early in the morning and don’t worry about the private plane, it’s on us!”
“Thanks Rowe. I owe you one.” With that Sophia hung up the phone. A bubbling sense of relief started to flourish within her. Knowing that a little time in the sun and the waves of the beautiful Seychelles Islands was the perfect getaway she required, spending it with friends and days filled with laughter and alcohol would make her forget the struggles that kept her landed at home. It was time that she took the chance to be selfish.
Parking her cart at the cashier’s aisle she placed her items on the belt. Waiting patiently for her turn she scanned the corners of the trashy magazine covers giggling at the ridiculousness of the cover stories.
That’s when her eyes fell upon him. Seeing his arm wrapped around a brunette woman’s arm as he exited a popular club he attended. Her heart sank in her chest, crushing her lungs in the process.
It was Harry pictured with a mysterious new brunette woman with writing plastered over the front saying ‘Has Prince Harry found a new royal girlfriend?’
Not being able to contain herself, Sophia grabbed the magazine and skimmed the article. How had he moved on from her already? Sophia could not stop thinking about him in the past weeks since their kiss. Mind you it was she that ran away from him and strictly told Harry nothing could ever happen between them. But so quickly, how could he?
I guess he never thought twice about me…. I guess he never cared how I would feel.
With that thought she placed the magazine back in its slot, burying along with it every thought and feeling she ever held for the prince. It was not worth her heart or mind constantly thinking about someone who clearly had not cared for her the same way she did for Harry.
If he was going to move on this quickly, so would she. Adding yet another reason to attend Ben’s birthday trip.
Maybe this was what she needed to get her mind off of the prince for good.
Glancing out the window of the SUV the private plane came into Sophia’s view. It was nothing that she wasn’t used to; she had been on a few before hand but preferred to not waste her money on luxury. Working with the Red Cross, Sophia had become accustomed to flying all over the world, mostly on uncomfortable cargo planes.
The railing of the steps up to the plane smoothed over across the palm of her hand, her fingers gripping it lightly to steady herself while pulling her bags up them. Ducking her head beneath the entrance she was greeted by the pilot and flight stewardess who took her bags and handed her a glass of champagne.
Following in behind Ben and Rowen she met a couple, Marcus and Lena, joining them on their trip. Not knowing anyone else she was forced to make small talk with Lena, taking up the seat behind Rowen at the back of the plane.
Her small frame settled into the plush leather chair that reclined back into a bed for the long trip ahead of them. Taking a sip of her champagne Sophia chuckled at a joke Marcus had made at the expense of his girlfriend Lena. The light of the window beside her caused her head to swivel, looking out at the planes taking off going to whatever their destination maybe.
That’s when she heard a familiar posh voice.
“Hey mate.”
Snapping her head towards the direction of the voice she searched for its source knowing in her mind who it belonged to. Her hand flew to her mouth, silencing her gasp as Harry stood at the front of the plane greeting Ben. Gripping the arm rest beside her she tried to catch her breath feeling a sense of dizziness circle in her head.
Ben and Harry were friends, this she knew. Rowen did not allude to the fact that the prince would be joining them on this trip. There was no way that Rowen would invite Sophia had she known.
Those deep blue eyes caught her staring at him. He paused for a brief moment unsure of whether to proceed down the aisle to greet the rest of the group. A display of shock graced his face for every one to see, a look that did not go unnoticed but was hidden in its true meaning.
“Sorry Harry. Rowe invited her… I didn’t think you were coming.” Ben leaned in hoping to explain why Sophia was here with them. Everyone aboard that plane, hell everyone across England knew the unaltered hate between the Cromwell’s and the Windsor’s.
“It’ll be fine Ben. I don’t hate her, besides my plans changed last minute.” Harry reassured his friend with a faint smile hoping to down play the situation. The real reason was not that at all, it was the fact that Sophia and him now shared a past, one she evidently hoped to have kept buried. A smile tugged at his lips thinking that this trip would be the perfect chance for him and Sophia to work things out. It’s not like she could hide or run from him now.
Hanging her head low trying to hide her gaze Harry smirked sensing how uncomfortable she was feeling in that moment. Walking slowly towards her Harry saw the seat across from her free; picking his pace up he kept his gaze on her until her blue eyes peaked up at him.
Leaning on the seat in front of her Sophia was forced to look up at him. “Hello Harry…”
“Sophia…” Harry winked at her watching a faint blush appear on her cheeks. Knowing Sophia was trying her best to not smile at the fact he was here she cleared her throat nervously, fidgeting with her hands.
“Is this seat taken?”
“It’s yours if you want… but there are better ones in the front…” Sophia tried to convince Harry to sit anywhere else but across from her. The aisles were small, making it feel that Harry was nearly sitting right beside her.
Rowe turned her head rounding it into view from the seat ahead of her. “I didn’t know he was coming… I’m sorry Sophia.”
“It’s alright Rowen. It’s about Ben this weekend, don’t worry about me!” Sophia spoke loud enough so Harry would pick up on that fact. Seeing his head turn slightly Sophia knew he had heard her.
Sinking back into her seat she closed her eyes gripping the handles of the seat waiting for the plane to take off. No matter how many times she had been on a plane, the take off always terrified her for an unknown reason. Closing her eyes she listened to the engines firing up.
Harry sat down buckling himself in securely in the seat across the aisle from Sophia. Taking a brief glance in her direction he saw her tense body stiffen, gripping the arm rests tight. He wanted nothing more than to try and distract her from her obvious distress she expressed on her face.
“Sophia…” Harry whispered loud enough for only her to hear. Her blue eyes sprung open turning to look at him, her mouth slightly parted.
“You ok?” He mouthed to her displaying a look of concern.
Biting down on her lower lip she forced out a lie with a simple nod of her head.
‘Look at me…’ Harry mouthed to Sophia in silence. ‘It will be over soon.’ His blue eyes held a comforting gaze that calmed her nerves. Not wanting to fall again under his spell Sophia was hesitant to keep their eyes locked, but revelled in the feeling it surrounded her with like Harry was right beside her comforting her.
“Soph…” Her friend Rowen was gently shaking her body awake. “Sophia!” The voice became louder as her eyes sprung open from a deep slumber. “Hey we are landing now!”
“Ok ok I am up.” Sophia sat up slowly, stretching her arms up as she yawned tiredly. A set of blue eyes were smirking at her from across from her seat that helped to form her narrowing eyes at the prince.
The plane had landed safely in the Seychelles as everyone was standing up grabbing their overhead bags. Sophia gave her bag another tug unable to reach it high up in the overhead bins. Muttering beneath her breath she silently spoke profanities.
An arm reached above her and pulled it down. “Let me help.”
Sophia peaked up at the figure towering over her from behind. Of course it was Harry grinning proudly down at her as he gently placed her bag in his hands.
“Thank you Harry.” Sophia chose to be polite towards the prince, even though all she wanted was to ignore him and enjoy her mini holiday.
Making their way to the private beach front villa everyone started to explore their home for the next few days. Rowen had rented it out, which clearly had costed a fortune based on the size and amenities of it. Sophia dropped her bag and immediately ran straight out the door towards the beach.
Her toes squished in the warm white sand feeling the ocean breeze tousle her blonde hair. The waves came crashing in to the shore in a calming manner. This was exactly what she had needed to get away from all the stresses and worries back in England.
Closing her eyes she heard someone step quietly towards her silently turning around she could not hide her beaming smile seeing that it was Harry. Her smile faded when she saw his concerned expression.
“Beautiful isn’t it?” He stood beside her taking in the amazing view with arms crossed defensively.
“It’s breathtaking…” Sophia smiled up at him with curiosity. Harry would not look at her as he stared straight ahead into the ocean with a furrowed brow as if he was deep in thought.
“Harry? What’s wrong?”
“Rowe is trying to fix it don’t worry…” Harry put on a masked smile as he turned his attention to the blonde.
“Tell me.” Her voice became stern demanding to know.
“Rowen and you are going to stay together in a room, cause there aren’t enough beds for you and me to have a separate one.” He sighed deeply pausing. “Unless… you are ok sharing a bed with me.” Blue eyes held her gaze while she repeated every word.
Share a bed with Harry? I can’t…. but it’s Ben’s birthday? Sophia was trapped deep in thought pouring through every scenario. How can she ask that of Rowen?
“That’s not fair to Ben….” Sophia quietly whispered.
“Look, I don’t want this to be awkward or uncomfortable for you. So let’s just be ok with sharing and I will sleep on the couch in the room. It’s no big deal for me.” Harry kindly offered knowing that Sophia was being put in a tough spot.
“What about your girlfriend?” Sophia bravely asked with a slightly annoyed tone. Harry’s head lifted from the sand displaying a confused look. “The one you left Mahiki with?” Her voice fell into a whisper.
“Sophia… that was my friends girlfriend.” He tossed his head back in laughter. “You should know better than to jump to conclusions from a mere picture.”
Her blue eyes stared into the depths of his. Maybe she was wrong about Harry… maybe he did still care and want her the same way she so desperately wanted him. Shaking her head lightly from the thought she heard the door open from behind them.
Rowen and Ben came walking out towards them making Harry glance back over his shoulder angling his body. He had wanted to discuss the options with Sophia first before being put on the spot. Even though things with them had ended quite rocky he still respected Sophia. He did not expect to see her on the trip, but a tiny part of him was ecstatic to see her again after everything, like it was a second chance for them to figure out what was happening between them.
“Sophia! Can I talk to you for a minute?” Rowen dragged the blonde away from Harry and Ben. Sophia quickly took one last glance at Harry wanting to know what she should do.
“What is it?” Sophia pretended not to know giving her an extra few seconds to make up her mind.
“So, I originally had invited another couple before we invited you and I didn’t think that Harry was coming so I thought there were enough beds and well… there aren’t….” Rowen smiled weakly with caution as she treaded around issue.
“Will you be ok sharing with Harry? I completely understand if you don’t want to cause me and you can just share one and the boys can if it’s an issue at all!” Rowen continued explaining.
“It’s alright. I don’t mind sharing with him. I am not going to make you do that to Ben on his birthday.” Sophia plastered on fake smile acting like she was completely fine with the idea when she internally knew it was a terrible choice sharing a bed with Harry.
“Great! You are the best!!” Her friend pulled her into a warm tight hug. While her eyes landed back on Harry giving him a guilty smile.
Mind if I take this blanket?” Harry walked out of the bathroom glancing at Sophia that had pulled the covers around her body already careful not to show the prince any part of her silky pajamas. It had been a long day for everyone and all they wanted was some much-needed sleep.
“Yeah, and the other one too if you want Harry.” Sophia sat up in bed feeling guilty as she watched Harry walk away with pillows and blankets heading towards the sofa. It was unfair to him that he was the one to sleep on the uncomfortable sofa and her get the bed all to herself.
Harry flipped the light switch off still having enough light from the bed side lamp where Sophia was sitting up watching him carefully, to safely make his way to the sofa. Pulling off of his shirt he tossed it in the general direction of his bag wearing only his boxer shorts. Making himself comfortable as he could on the sofa he laid his head down on the pillow knowing Sophia’s eyes were still on him.
“Are you going to turn off the light?” Harry giggled quietly as he watched her sit up higher in bed.
Sophia closed her eyes briefly knowing it was a terrible idea what she was about to do, but she could not let Harry sleep there. “No….” She smiled at him weakly.
“Because you need to find your way back into this bed.” There was a part that worried her even more knowing that she did not regret inviting the prince to share the bed with her. He had been a gentleman and offered to sleep on the sofa, but she could not make him do that for the rest of the week. A small voice in her head was curious what it would be like to sleep next to him.
“Sophia it’s fine I can sleep here. It’s no big- ” He started to reassure Sophia, not wanting to play on her guilt.
“Harry, please just come. I cannot let you sleep on that lumpy sofa… we are adults I think we can both be respectful and share a bed together right?” Sophia half questioned herself remembering the last time she had been in Harry’s presence that ended with a kiss she would never be able to forget. She was asking for trouble.
The prince slowly sat up, placing his feet on the marbled flooring. “You get one last chance to change your mind Cromwell.” Harry warned her with a narrowing of the eyes as he stepped closer to the bed pulling the blankets along with him.
“Get here in before I regret it Wales.” Sophia could not help but giggle at him seeing his crooked smirk flash on his lips.
“What are you doing?” Harry could feel a pile of pillows along side his back. He turned over to look at the blonde making a pillow wall between them.
“Making sure you stay on your side.” Sophia was completely serious. “No funny business Harry.” She heeded yet another warning that he better keep his promise and stay on his side.
Harry was too tired to continue arguing with her so he flipped on his side facing her, knowing it would bother her more. Sophia was face to face with the prince shaking her head at him knowing that he was trying to get under her skin.
“It’s not going to work Harry.”
“We will see about that. This pillow wall will be non-existent by morning. We both know you cannot resist me…” His blue eyes winked at her causing an eye roll.
“You know better than to try a Cromwell.” Sophia laughed away his response.
“You should have known better not to kiss me then!”
“Harry!!” Sophia gasped before making herself face the other direction not wanting to see the pure giddy smile that was gently placed on her lips.
Sophia quickly fell into a deep sleep, sharing the bed with Harry as well as sharing her dreams with him.

Chapter 26

A/N: Here is the next chapter! Thanks for following me and reading my story everyone! You are all amazing in my eyes xx

It was finally out. The whole world knew.
Harry scrolled through the article reading it through tightly pressed lips. Seeing a picture of him and Addy together from last night made the anger from deep within boil to the surface. Someone had taken it when they weren’t looking, an intimate moment shared between the two. A private moment that the world now had seen.
Someone had leaked it.
Someone had betrayed them.
He did not have the heart to wake Adalyn up, knowing that her world would now forever be changed the moment he would see her green eyes open. Placing his phone down he ignored the constant buzzing eventually turning his phone off. He gently brought Addy closer to him, careful not to wake her. Wrapping his arms around her protectively praying that she would not wake up to this madness.

Chapter 25

A/N: First of all, I am sorry for not updating sooner, but this is a really big chapter and I wanted to take the time to do it justice! It is quite lengthy so enjoy! As always, I love hearing from you and appreciate each and every one of you! Thank you for going along on this journey with me

“Hey gorgeous.” Harry wrapped his arms around Addy’s small frame engulfing her into a warm hug.
“Mmmm. You always give the best hugs Harry.” Addy squeezed his muscular body tight burying her head into the confines of his chest. Having to spend an extra morning at work today pushing to get an exhibit done for the opening next week had caused her stress levels to sky rocket leaving her emotionally and physically drained. The moment she saw Harry, every little stressor immediately dissipated and she felt a sense of relief course through her.
Kissing her forehead she lifted her head, her green eyes staring up at him. “Kiss me again…” She smiled up at Harry.

Chapter Five

A/N: I want to sincerely apologize for the lack of posting on this story. I have another fic that I was into writing and needed to get to a certain place before I switched stories. Thank you for your patience and sticking with me throughout this wait. I appreciate every one of you! Hope this chapter is worth the wait.

Sophia placed her vehicle in park watching the man in his military uniform come to the driver’s side of her car. Rolling down her window she felt a brush of cool wind tousle her hair. She handed him her ID as she patiently waited for the man to confirm her identity allowing her into the secure military base. Glancing up at the sky, clouds had grown eerily darker as the evening went on. Trying not to dwell on the ominous sign she heard the spreading of gravel beneath the man’s feet.
“Thank you ma’am. The residence is you are visiting is down the road, first right and around the corner. Have a goodnight.” The man handed back her ID heading back to the security gate allowing her inside.
“Thank you sir” she waved politely while driving through. Following the man’s directions she pulled into the driveway of a blue house. Turning the vehicle off she sat there for a moment attempting to calm her building nerves.
Sophia had agreed to come over to Harry’s home at the base close by her work one evening to talk civilly about their fight. Closing her eyes she hoped that the two could work it out and then go their separate ways not wanting to engage in another power battle with the prince.
The past few days all she could think of was tonight. How she desperately did not want to show up in fear of the outcome being the same as last time. Her mind was plagued with thoughts of his tender touch and of how she melted under his blue-eyed gaze. Shaking her head, wanting to believe that those were just his princely charm he used on everyone to get what he wanted.
Opening her eyes she took a deep breath gathering the courage to go inside. Walking up to the front door she easily climbed the few concrete steps. Sophia went to knock on the door hesitating for a brief moment. The sooner she got this over with the sooner she could put it behind her. Gathering her wits she knocked firmly on the door.
Within seconds of knocking the door swung open revealing Harry standing in the doorway with a welcoming smile that spread at the sight of her. The smile he was wearing instantly clamed her nerves seeing that he did not seem standoffish in preparation for a fight.
“Sophia” he opened the door wider stepping to the side. “Come in.”
This was her last chance to back out, to turn around and head back home without a word. Hesitating she internally was trembling at the moment’s decision. Taking a step forward she made her choice. Walking through the door she was hit was a mouth watering smell of food cooking. Harry politely took her coat and led her into the kitchen.
“It smells good in here.” Sophia slowly walked around the kitchen island taking in the quaint room.
“I hope you are hungry. It’s almost done.” Harry opened the oven checking the status of the food. Turning his attention back to Sophia he watched her in silence displaying a curious expression.
“What?” He eyed her narrowly, seeing her eyebrow rise in suspicion.
“Did you actually make that?” Smirking she already knew the answer to that, but wanted to see if Harry would cop to it.
“Of course not.” He chuckled knowing that he had been caught.
Her body angled over the side of the counter looking into the garbage can below and saw take out boxes squished in. Sophia could not stop the giggle that was forming deep in her chest. Letting out a small laugh she covered her mouth.
“Next time, hide the evidence your highness.”
Sophia sat back in the kitchen chair feeling satisfied after her meal that Harry had graciously picked up for her. She watched Harry finish the last few bites of food giving her time to be alone with her thoughts. Her stomach churned into an uncomfortable knot; she wanted to run out of here and not face the topic they were about to discuss. Taking a series of deeper breaths she felt her stomach become more at ease as she thought to herself the sooner we talk, the sooner she could put the prince out of her mind and move forward.
Unknown to her Harry had been watching her the whole time, seeing her struggle to be in his presence brought forward feelings of guilt. He had caused that worry to stir within her no doubt based on her unmannerly time with him. There was no doubt that he was to blame for those thoughts that were creeping around in her mind. Harry was not here to fight with her all he wanted was to bury things.
“Let’s leave this mess and go some place more comfortable. It’s a nice night for a fire…” Harry led her outside in the back yard where he had a few chairs already set up like he had planned it all.
Trying to be the gentleman Harry had ran back inside to get a few blankets for them, but by the time that he had returned Sophia had already had the fire going. Glancing across the fire she locked in the prince’s shocked gaze.
“What? Didn’t think I could do it by myself Harry?” Sophia stood up brushing off her pants like it was no big deal.
“Well to be honest… no.” He barked a laugh before handing her a warm blanket.
“Well. There is a lot you do not know about me.” Sophia happily took the blanket from him and wrapping herself up tightly she instantly felt a sense of warmth surround her body. Settling her self down into a chair she gazed into the consuming flames that offered her a sense of quiet from the thoughts in her mind.
Watching the prince add a few more logs to the fire she took joy in the silence, only hearing the crackling of the fire that was building before her. Harry sat down beside her quietly. He did not want to disturb her; she looked so peaceful in that moment. The corner of her lips tugged up into a small smile, her blue orbs reflecting the fire that danced before them.
Not knowing how to start the conversation they were both dreading Harry remained silent hoping that she would be the first to break the silence. Minutes had passed before she would even glance at the prince. He had to admit the awkwardness between them was palpable. They were both taught to hate each other from a young age. For as long as Harry could remember he was told that the Cromwell Family were never to be trusted, that their allegations were false and a threat to his life. But now as he sat here in the presence of one, he started to question why he was supposed to hate her. Sophia had been nothing but civil to the prince, he was the one that had stirred up the fight between them the other night.
“I’m sorry.” Sophia snapped her head in his direction as if the words he had spoken were to hard for her ears to even comprehend that of which he spoke.
“I should not have treated you that way. No matter who you are you do not deserve what I said about you. I deeply regret it and hope that you can find it in yourself to forgive an ass like me.” Harry hoped that his confession and sincereness would play into his favor and attain the forgiveness from the blonde he had hoped for.
“I am not that person in the least. I don’t even know who was speaking to you that evening. It was a version of myself that I have never seen before.” He continued despite her silence. Turning her head away from the prince she stared hard into the flames concentrating on them as if she was formulating her reply.
“Your words hurt me deeply…” Sophia admitted truthfully. Hearing the upset laced in her voice made his heart drop in his chest feeling guilt surround him.
“I do not care that you are supposed to be an enemy of mine.” Locking eyes with the prince she held his gaze in a tight lock. “I personally.” She paused. “Have done nothing to you that warranted that behaviour Harry.” Swallowing hard she hid her trembling hands beneath the blanket, frightful that she was speaking to him so boldly. She was talking to a bloody prince of England, one she was supposed to never hold to any regard, of course she was nervous.
“I thought you had tricked me Sophia. That night at the masquerade ball I tried to find out whom you were and when I found out that you were a Cromwell I immediately was reminded of why I needed to hate you even though I do not understand that hate myself. It is what has been ingrained into me since I was a child.” Harry leaned in towards the fire, breaking her gaze from him.
“I didn’t!” Sophia’s voice raised an octave. “I never lied about who I was… Alex…” She nearly spat that name out in anger. Her body began to shake erupting in an uncontrollable fit of laughter.
Harry was confused to say the least. He thought she was going to yell at him, but now she can’t stop laughing. What is going on? Despite his attempts to remain serious he could stop the smile that spread on his lips hearing the pure joy in a laugh he had never heard before.
Becoming silent he watched her struggling to breath with eyes as wide as her smile. Clutching her stomach she drew in a long breath followed by an incredulous giggle. “I’m sorry…. But of all the names you chose…. Alex?” Sophia could not contain herself.
Rolling his eyes the prince started laughing himself. “You put me on the spot. I had to think quick!” The prince tossed his arms in the air. Minutes later their laughs subsided into silence hearing only the crackling of the wood.
“I never meant to trick you.” Sophia was the first to speak. “My brother and his girlfriend broke up and he invited me last minute. So I went in her place. I was worried about him…he tends to self medicate.” Sophia grew quiet, her mind going elsewhere for a moment.
“Sophia I –” He took in a breath not knowing how she would take what he was about to say. “There is a part of me that does not believe you as much as I want to know that was the truth…”
Her blue eyes hardened her stare at the prince. “No matter what I say. No matter what I do, you will never believe me will you?” Sophia wrapped the blanket around her tighter in a defensive manner. Confusion coursed through her. Harry had invited her here tonight to discuss everything so they could both move on, but he cannot help but think that she had every intention to play him a fool.
“It’s not that I don’t.”
“What?” Sophia stood up hastily. “You are making absolutely no sense.” Tossing her arms up in the air she took a few steps behind him unable to look at the prince. Crossing her arms she started mumbling to herself that this was a bad idea coming here. They would never be able to put things behind them just because of the name that was attached to them.
“Sophia!” Harry’s demanding voice rose in a bout of anger. Did she really just walk away from me when I was speaking to her? Who is this woman?
“Yes?” Turning around slowly she popped her hip out. “Oh wait.” She angled her head at Harry. “Let me guess you can never fully trust a Cromwell right?”
“That is not what I meant Sophia.” Harry took a step towards her seeing her defensive stance with her arms crossed. “I meant that it is hard for me to come to terms that I had an amazing night with you and when I found out that it was you… there is a part of me that wants to think there were other motives that maybe you weren’t aware of.” Sophia’s eyes narrowed in confusion.
“Cut the crap Harry!” She begged of him. “Why can’t you see that I am not who you think I am. I do not want anything from you or your family other than to live my life in peace and not waste it fighting for a cause I do not believe in. You can have the crown and all the things that come with it. I do not want it now nor have I ever….” Taking a step towards the prince she put down her arms in surrender.
Mere inches away she held the prince’s blue eyes hostage. “Why can’t you see that I am that person from that night and I have never changed. I thought I had met someone wonderful that night. I thought I saw a piece of that man the other day helping with the floods, but all this confusion and your actions inviting me here but not even believing me when I am telling you the truth makes me question who you really are. It makes me wonder if you have even taken off that mask and shown me who you are… not who your father or grandmother wants you to be.” Biting his tongue he wanted to scream at her, but some piece inside of him told him not to. Maybe it was the way he could see the sincereness circling in her soft gaze, maybe it was her gentle voice that willed that part of him away. Maybe it was the truth she spoke of that he could not deny.
“I am not a puppet in this game. I make my own choices Harry.” Sophia reached out grasping his forearm gently. “I forgive you Harry. I want to put this behind us and move on with my life. I don’t care what you say anymore about me or my family. It does not matter and I am not going to stand here and fight with you again.” Gently squeezing his arm Sophia had said her peace.
“Why?” Harry questioned quickly surprised at how easily she gave him what he wanted without a hesitation. “Why forgive me… what I said was -.”
“Was not you.” Sophia interjected firmly.
“But you don’t know me….” Harry’s confusion was becoming stronger.
“I know Alex….” Shrugging her shoulders she smiled. “I would like to think that not everything you were that night was a lie. I know it wasn’t.” Her body started to sway lightly as she looked away unable to look at the prince in the eye about what she was supposed to say.
“At least the fact that you were a good kisser wasn’t a lie…” Sophia immediately regretted speaking those words the moment they flew out of her mouth. Internally kicking herself in the ass she shied away from the prince.
“Is that so?” Harry tilted his head at her raising an eyebrow at her confession. “I was wrong about you Sophia…” Sighing the prince could not believe he was admitting that she was right. “I hope we can bury the hatchet?”
Nodding Sophia agreed that this was over. Taking in a deep breath she was relieved that everything was sorted out and she could put this all in this past. “I better get going home Harry… it’s getting late.” Sophia glanced up at him taking in one last look into those sparking blue eyes she had remembered so fondly. Grabbing her hand Harry led her slowly back inside.
The instant she felt his hands encapsulate hers, her mind flashed back to the night at the masquerade ball. Her heart began to race feeling an overwhelming sense of emotion at his simple gesture. Each step they took brought her closer to reality knowing that there was little possibility that she would ever see the prince again. Her heart strings were tugging hard desperately trying to make her feel the sparks that were lighting again in her heart, sparks she had buried the moment she had realized that ‘Alex’ was indeed Prince Harry.
Her mind was begging her to move her feet faster and run away, making her see that he was no good for her. Reminding her of the fact of how he treated her in her own home made her listen to her mind to forgetting it all, but her heart was not giving up as it fluttered in her chest. It started to beat harder, become more louder and with every heart beat she relived the moments they shared that night… the talking, the stolen glances, the dancing and ultimately their kiss.
Reaching the front door Harry released her hand to pull out her coat from the closet. While he led her through his home to where they stood now, all he could imagine was what it would be like to kiss her again, to feel her soft lips pressed against his. He felt betrayed by his feelings knowing that they should not be there, that they could not be there for her. This was their final goodbye and with that, his feelings for Sophia must leave with her.
“Thanks for coming here Sophia.” Harry opened his arms up for a hug hoping she would accept it. Without missing a beat she dove her body into his embrace feeling the way his arms wrapped around her in security making her feel safe. Closing her eyes she willed herself to not look at him knowing it would be the end of her to see those blue eyes drawing her in.
“Take care Harry.” Breaking apart from the hug she immediately dropped her gaze to the floor. Grabbing the doorknob she turned it cracking the door open. Her mind begged her not to look back, but she could not help herself.
Peaking over her shoulder at him she took one last glance glanced into those eyes, wanting to get lost in them just one more time. Sophia offered him a warm smile, a silent thank you for tonight. Without another word she walked out and closed the door behind her, climbing down the steps to her car feeling her legs become heavy and weak at the same time.
Hearing the door slam shut Harry’s feet immediately started to move forward. He could not end things like this. He needed to know if there was a possibility that Sophia felt the same way about him. Striding forward he sprung open the door seeing her opening her car door he yelled after her.
“Sophia! Wait!” Harry jumped over the steps running towards her, huffing his breath.
“You can’t leave yet.” Reaching her he pushed her door close to ensure that she was not going to go anywhere.
“What are you doing Harry?” Sophia begged him to go back inside. This was only making things harder on her.
“This.”
His hands cupped her cheek as his lips reached their intended target. Capturing her lips he pressed down firmly on them. Feeling resistance at first he continued to smoother them until she gave in to him.
Sophia placed her hand on his chest with every intention of pushing him away. But she couldn’t, there was no will in her mind pushing her to do so anymore. Succumbing to Harry, she grasped his shirt balling it up into a fist as she gripped him tightly holding onto a lifeline.
Opening her mouth she allowed his tongue access, deepening the kiss he massaged his thumb into the warm flesh of her cheeks. Their lips battling for control, wanting more of each other. Capturing one of Sophia’s tiny moans he smiled as he got his confirmation.
Sophia’s mind started screaming at her telling her that this was wrong that nothing good would come of this. Trying to tune it out she pressed her lips down harder against the prince. Reaching up she tugged down on his neck asking for more of him in a hurried moment.
“Harry…” Sophia whispered his name.
“Mmmhmmm?” He mumbled against her lips he continued to attack feverishly.
“This is wrong.”
Within seconds he felt a force push him off of her tearing his lips off of hers. Her arm reached fully out creating distance between them as they both gasped for breath. Harry could see the fear circling in her blue eyes at what they had knowingly just done. What they had just committed.
“Sophia…” He quietly whispered having a sense she was about to run from him for the second time.
“This is wrong Harry! We can’t!” Her voice became panicked. Reaching for the car door handle Harry attempted to stop her.
“Harry. Don’t. Please don’t.” Sophia’s voice breaking with anxiety begged him to let her go.
“You can’t just leave after that Sophia.” He tried to calmly speak to her after seeing her clear distress written all over her face. “Don’t run away from me again.” Coaxing her he let the words sink in.
“I am sorry Harry. You know we can’t do this.” Glancing up at the prince with worried eyes she knew he understood her reasons why.
“I thought you didn’t want to be a puppet in this game….” Harry’s tone laced with confusion at where her sudden fear came from.
“You know it’s not about that….I cannot have these feelings for you.” Forcing the door opened she climbed in the car locking it quickly behind her before the prince had time to react. Backing out of the driveway she took one last look at Harry with apologetic eyes before she drove off in the distance.
“Sophia!” He tossed his arms up in the arm.
It was too late.
Sophia was gone.

Chapter 24

A/N: Here is the next chapter! It is wayyy longer than I expected but you guys deserve it for giving me such love! Hope you enjoy and cannot wait to hear from you!

Harry took a sip of his beer feeling the cool liquid go down his throat enhancing his already buzzed mind from the drinks he had already consumed. Melissa and Adriana came back to their spot after dancing to the beat of their apparent new favourite song.
“I wish Addy could have come tonight!” Mel turned her attention Harry. “We miss hanging out with her.”
Nodding Harry swallowed another sip before replying. “She wanted to come but had an emergency with the rescue. Some woman was surrendering a dog Addy had been trying to get for months now…”
Harry leaned in a little closer to Mel trying to make their conversation more private amongst their group. “I never thanked you for taking care of her and making sure she was alright while I was gone. Thank you Mel. I owe you one.” He sincerely was grateful for his friends who had included and checked in on Adalyn while he was deployed.
Mel placed a hand on his back patting it lightly. “You know she cares a whole deal about you Harry. I think she’s a keeper and we all love her to bits.” Melissa gushed with a beaming smile.

Chapter 23

A/N: Hellloooo! Without further adieu here is the next chapter! Thank you for all of your love I appreciate it <3

Harry had given Adalyn some space over the next few days. The following morning after their date Harry had sent her a message knowing that she would be at work already. He apologized for how things ended up and wanted to know if there was anything he could do. Addy had taken most of the day to respond to him even though he had seen that she had read the message earlier in the morning.
Her response led him to believe she was starting to have doubts about their relationship, which was of course natural. After all, dating a prince was not exactly an easy thing. Seeing those words on the screen made him want to go to her instantly to try and make everything better. They read… ‘I don’t know Harry. I need some time to think. Please give me a few days.’
Each day Harry had sent her a little message she would wake up to in hopes she would agree to meet with him and talk about it all. Today was that day. Sitting in a meeting with his private secretary and other members of his team he felt his phone ring.
Seeing her picture light up on his screen he immediately pushed his chair back and said, “I will be right back.” Harry told Edward quietly as he slipped out the room before seeing Ed’s unflattering expression that he was missing this board meeting he had already re-scheduled twice for the prince.

Chapter 21

A/N: HEY READERS! Here is the update as promised. Thank you for patiently waiting for this update I know it is been a long time coming. So without further wait… here you go!

After finishing their meal Adalyn had volunteered to clean up needing some time alone to herself after her slip up at dinner. Filling up the sink with warm water she started taking her frustration out on the dirty pots and pans. Hearing her father’s footprints behind her she glanced up seeing him grab a drying towel in silence.
“It’s Prince Harry that you are in a relationship isn’t’ it Adalyn?”
The plate she was about to hand her father slipped out of her hands crashing down onto the hardwood floor shattering into tiny pieces. Addy gasped loudly quickly locking eyes with her father seeing the fear in her eyes reflecting in his.
Her eyes darted to the floor seeing the pieces scattered across the hardwood. Bending down Addy began to pick up the shards of the plate off of the floor. Sensing her father kneeling down beside her she tried desperately to avoid eye contact with him.

Chapter 19

A/N: Here is the next chapter! Hope you enjoy it! I know I have been updating quite frequently lately, but in about a week I will be gone and there most likely won’t be an update for about 2ish weeks! Anyway! Enjoy! Like always, its amazing to hear from you all xx

“So have you two done it yet?” Ainsley winked up at Addy standing on her tippy toes grabbing a box of cereal on the top shelf.
“Ainsley!” Addy tossed the cereal in the cart giving her friend an eye roll. “Why do you always ask these things in such a public place? I can’t take you anywhere!”
Looking behind her over her shoulder she was met with Ainsley’s brown eyes with a wide cheeky grin. “I have no shame that’s why!” Ainsley yelled loudly embarrassing Adalyn even further.
