Other than there being no challenge from Newcastle, I would say it was a big win today. 

For the most part, I really enjoyed our midfield play today; which is something we have been struggling on all season. Even with the Norwegian loanee Odegaard, who had a sub-par day, I believe our lack of creative midfield is costing us missed chances from dwindling defences. Dani Ceballos got all 90 minutes, seeing as he is disqualified for next weeks europa match against Villarreal. He and his partner Mohammed Elneny both had an amazing game with the latter coming away with a goal. A much needed goal from a midfield that has the lowest goal average of all premier league teams. 

Defence looked very put together. David Luiz played a great game completing every long-pass he attempted. Unfortunately he was helped off the pitch with an injury. His replacement being the well in favored Calum Chambers who not only had a shot, but went and completed 92% of his passes. The substitute paired well with Gabriel, and in my opinion deserves the chance next week over Mari-Holding duo that seems to be more favored by Arteta.

The best thing to take away from todays game has to be Gabriel Martinelli playing his heart out and getting the full game he deserves. He had a 89% pass success rate and got an assist to the captain Aubameyang. A well deserved man of the match.
