#Today Gathe Mangal - The metal day ! नेवा: हरुको आज गथा:मुग चर्‍हे आज फलाम लगायत बिभिन्न धातुको औठी लागाउने तथा भुतलाइ पुजा गर्ने, खुवाउने गरिन्छ ------------------------------------------------------------------ नेवार समुदायले आज गथांमुगः [गठेमंगल/घण्टाकर्ण] पर्व मनाउँदै छन्। प्रत्येक वर्ष श्रावण कृष्ण चतुर्दशीका दिन मनाइने गठेमङ्गललाई घण्टाकर्ण पर्व पनि भनिन्छ। प्राचीन समयमा नेपालमण्डलमा गठामंगल नाम गरेको एउटा दानव थियो त्यसलाई सत्य निष्ठा तथा समाजको हितमा काम गर्ने सर्वसाधारण मानिस मन पर्दैनथ्यो। उसले सत्य वचन सुन्नुपर्ला भनेर सधैंँ कानमा घण्टी झुन्ड्याएर हिँड्ने गर्थ्यो। त्यसपछि उसलाई घण्टाकर्ण भनिन थाल्यो। उसले विशेषगरी दोबाटो चौबाटोमा ढुकेर बटुवासँग पैसा उठाउने र मनलागेको खानेकुरा खाने गर्थ्यो। उसको त्यस्तो गतिविधिबाट सर्वसाधारण मानिस आतङ्कित थिए। एकदिन घण्टाकर्ण मर्‍यो, ऊ मरेपछि खुसियाली मनाउने क्रममा आजको दिन बिहानै स्नान गरी घरलाई सफासुग्घर गरी फलामको औँठी लगाउने तथा हरियो नर्कट, निगालो र गहुँको छ्वाली मिस्ााएर तीनखुट्टे राक्षस बनाई दोबाटो चौबाटोमा राखिन्छ। विभिन्न टोल टोलमा युवाहरु जम्मा भई साँझ आँगो बालेर भूत भगाएका छन् । पुतलाका रुपमा बनाइएको घण्टाकर्ण राक्षसको मुखमा आगो लगाएर घिसार्दै खोला किनारमा पुर्‍याएर उसको अन्त्येष्टि गर्ने परम्परा रहेको छ । यस पर्व मनाएमा मानिस विभिन्न रोग, व्याधिबाट मुक्त भई दुःख निवारण हुने जनविश्वास छ। Ghanta Karna (also called Ghanta Karna Chaturdasi and GhantaKarna) is a Newari festival celebrating the defeat of the mythical demon Ghanta-karna ("bell-ears") or "Gatha-Mungal" in local Newari language. According to the myth, the demon wore bell earrings in order to drown out the name of the god Shiva with their jingling. Attributed to him are acts of robbery, murder, and kidnapping of children. The festival is probably a relic of ancient demonolatry in the Kathmandu valley. The festival is celebrated on the full moon day (Purnima) in the Hindu month of Ashadha (June–July) of the Shaka Samvat, as it is known in the Hindu calendar of India and Nepal. This day is teacher's day for Nepalese ; mostly Students. Students honor their teachers by offering delicacies, garlands, and special hats called topi made with indigenous fabric. अाज असार १५, राष्ट्रिय धान दिवस एवं दहि चिउरा खाने दिन #Today, National paddy Day in Nepal Asar 15, the National Paddy Day marks the busiest day of the year for farmers in Nepal. It is the official rice plantation day, when paddy seedlings are transplanted from seed beds to muddied fields. Asar 15 falls on the middle of the Nepali month Asar every year. During this day, farmers throughout the country are busy on planting paddy in their fields and enjoy the day by singing, dancing, playing mud and eating the special “Dahi Chiura”. Dahi Chiura is the tradition of eating yogurt and beaten rice on the day as a lunch. Asar Pandhra is also known as the rice plantation festival that marks an important day in Nepal where agriculture is one of the top income sources of people. The month of Asar is the favorable for the rice plantation when the monsoon rain falls. Tradition Singing, dancing, playing games in the mud and eating Dahi Chiura is the tradition of Asar Pandhra festival. In the recent years, this date is celebrated as festival with various rituals and events. There are many programs on this date organized by the NGOs, Nepal Government and other private organizations. Tourism Monsoon season is not so much favorable for trekking and extreme adventure activities. But, nowadays, tourist from different countries visit Nepal to enjoy the Rice plantation festival organized by tourism entrepreneurs or locals.
