Rest Week
24 weeks out from #IMAZ. Enjoying a rest week, I went to the gym this morning for a 1000 meter swim and the pool is closed for repairs - I'll take it! Base 2 continues on Monday. Have you ever followed a training plan with no scheduled days off?

SUPER Sunday Ride
Going to a Super Bowl party today 30 miles across town. Sounds like the perfect distance to bike over!
Now which Super Bowl snack food to eat as my recovery meal??

Was just invited to join a 2014 Ragnar Del Sol team in less than a month! It probably doesn't fit into my Ironman training plan, but I've always wanted to do a Ragnar! Not sure which leg I'll be doing yet. Anyone done Ragnar Del Sol? What have I gotten myself into? http://www.ragnarrelay.com/race/delsol

"Why would you do that?"
Sometimes it takes a little peer pressure to do something that's good for you. I'm lucky to have friends that use this tactic on me, which is why I'm now signed up for Ironman Arizona 2014.
The idea for this blog began as a way to keep track of all the information I need to try and keep track of: Training schedule and results, nutrition (both fuel and food!), equipment, race-day plans, etc. As well as get feedback from those of you that can share your wit and wisdom!
I seem to be getting a lot of "Why would you do that?" when I tell people I'm signed up for an Ironman event.
I’ve realized that when it comes to fitness, it doesn’t work to simply pick a race, train for it, do it, and then stop. I know the journey must continue and that is what this is really about. The reason to do an Ironman, for most people, is to say you’ve done an Ironman; the reason I’m doing an Ironman is the journey to get there.
My other answer to that question... "Why Not?"
