being condescending about a theory in media being 'so obvious' and that the only way people wouldn't believe it is 'fandom brainrot' when it's intentionally vague in said media what's going on is obnoxious actually
like even if you're right the attitude you're taking is insufferable

a lot of really bonkers and dogshit fandom takes stem from 'i need to project my childhood bully onto this character and now i staunchly believe their sinful presence must be cleansed by throwing them into the earth's core'

i am aware that media opinions tend not to show someone's character
however on a first impression they will show me if I'll enjoy being around that person personally-- and sometimes give me a glimpse into their values

i also don't think you have to 100% like or hate everything especially when it comes to other's opinions
that being said i can and will have an opinion about other people's opinions.
yeah you can dislike that aspect. i just think the criticisms you're levying are really, really stupid and go against the very themes of what this media is about.
usually this tends to be with people who have very shallow media critiques that boil down to 'i hate characters that do bad things' and it turns out their main issue is that in one way or another they want this character punished and to see it. like either through extreme prejustice or for the character to do an essay assignment of why the thing was bad and we the audience can't just let that go even if the characters themselves have no reason to hold this against them and the narrative would not benefit from bringing this up again and raking this character over the coals
i think refusing to engage with the text's core themes and depth is very much a critizable action, whether that be in dislike or even if it's out of supppsed adoration but you see said fan doing the Fandom equivalent of the groverhaus bathroom.
like I'm allowed to just think your opinions suck, dude. it (hopefully) says nothing about your character but everything about your vapid lack of media literacy.

it's almost like rushing to an extreme view with no sense of nuance or critical thinking beyond being volatile is a bad thing or something

hey you are aware that if you don't like something you can just not reference it. you can stop talking about it. no one is 'forcing' you to 'like' it other than your weird vitriolic hatred of something you refuse to even give a shot

to a certain point i can never stand people who think you're an idiot or 'inferior' for liking something.
