overall experience
my overall experience for this module i feel has been good this is because all the the students i worked with were very  easy to work with as they were easy to get hold of when need also they kept in constant contact  throughout the projects asking me on updates as the weeks went. this can be seen through the facebook messages have posted where i was suggested more work to do.
the students i worked with also like their experience working with me as can be seen in a feedback message  i was sent my Ivolou
To whom it may concern:
Alex Pickford has been a great help for my Final Major Project. When I asked Alex to create some props, he planned everything and consulted me when needed to, in order to have the props made correctly, and he kept me updated with the process the whole way. Alex worked well with the deadlines I gave him and was happy to take on additional work when more came up and the props he made was precisely how I needed them.
In conclusion Alex has been extremely helpful in my project – as prop builder, and he always kept his deadlines. He is a very friendly and enthusiastic person and I wish him the best in his future creative endeavours.
Yours sincerely
Ivalou Leveau Jensen
this makes my experience even better as it shows my work and time has been appreciated.

For the second table I did the same method but used wood for the legs as this table would only be seen from plane veiw meaning only it top would be seen.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
This table as the other had a pattern hand crafted in. Overall I liked making both the tables and am impressed with the results. Also I have enjoyed working for Ivolou as she was quick for feedback if I asked for and was always contactible.

For Ivolou I was asked to make two tables one with fancy foam legs and the other with more solid wooden legs . This was something i hadn't done before so I was intrigued to see the results
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
For the table with foam legs I shaped the legs out of 3 pieces and then stuck them together. This because the shapes would of been to complicated to do as a solid piece. After making the legs. I cut. A piece of wood for the dimensions of the top and trimed off the edges on a bandsaw. Into the top I also added a pattern as this was desired. To do the patten, It had to be done by hand this was because the table was to small to use on a machine. To hand add the patten I used a scalpel and a small hammer. To finish the piece I glued it together and added a watered down layer of aqucrilic paint over the entire thing to create a polished effect .

For the last concept drawing I chose to do a drawing of another stage of decay maybe between the two other drawrings stages.
To do this I looked at both drawings I had previously done and drew something I imagine was in between.
Tumblr media
To do this drawring I decided to focus on a more of a close up image showing part of the face almost blowing away. This was so I could just concentrate on the melting effect and not the whole body.
After doing all the drawings in pencil for David I digitally coloured each so that the picture looked like finished pieces.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I have enjoyed working with David as he was always available for feedback and was always excited about how my work was coming on.

To do this drawing I started by drawring a skeleton in pencil and then drawing clothes on to it after. The reason I decided to do this was that I wanted to show the clothes hanging from the bones of the skeleton. Showing that all the flesh had nearly gone.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
To finish this drawring I drew in a shredded flesh look to the skeleton. To hint at where the remain of were such as on the head and arms.

After drawing this concept I emailed David.my drawring to see what he thought.
To which he asked me to do two more drawrings. These drawrings would be of different stages of fhe melting woman.
Tumblr media
From seeing this I started a new drawring for the character concept David wanted. This time I would draw the woman's as a complete Skeleton. This would obviously be the character look that would be set futher within the scene.
To do this I firstly pull up reference of a skeleton and went from there.
Tumblr media
When doing this character concept drawing I decided to set it side veiw. This was because my fist drawing was set facing front so I tried,to get a another angle.

The next step I took when drawing the first concept character drawing was adding the melting features. This includes adding in ripped clothes and limbs. The reason I chose to do this was that if the woman character was melting then so would her clothes.
Tumblr media
When drawing the clothes for this character concept I tried to give a her a shirt and tie as from the plot David told me she was a scientist. This meant I thought she would be dressed formal. Looking back at my references from raiders of the lost ark, I noticed that the clothes were flooded with blood as if the body underneath was melting and staining the clothes. This lead me blood onto the clothes of the character dropping from places of clothing such as the tie and the shirt collar. For the body I tried to keep some remains of the human look around the face. To do this I tried to draw one side of the face more decayed than the other. This is seen through the nose one side being scalital like and also through one eye's pupil being completely white as of the colour is washing away. I decided to do this as I thought it left enough that the human figure still showed meaning veiwer could imagine what she looked like before she started to melt. When drawing this character I also tried to make it look as if the woman's hair was falling out with her flesh. This can be seen by hair being drawn air born as if it was falling out. Also a pieces of skull can be seen shown on part of the head. I decided to draw this feature I thought if someone melted that their hair would fall out taking skin, With it.
Another thing I did which can be seen in the drawing is lack of fingers or stumps of bone. The reason I chose to do this was due to the pose of the character having their hands almost touching As from this pose I thought the hands would of been. One of the first things to melt as they are close to the head. The reason I placed the arms so close to the head was because I imagined how long the woman was screaming while melting.
One thing I liked about this was that I was given alot freedom with the drawing thought the idea being able to be taken. From many angles

After doing this I started drawing the characters features. To do this I drew a screaming face in pencil. This was because to do the melting face I wanted to first draw a Ordinary face and then decay it to look like it was Melting. From doing this fist ordinary face drawing it will also allow me to look at what areas I want to decay the most and by looking at the normal face first I can work out where appropriate I could age the face to.

David's concept character designs
After looking at the raiders of the lost ark melting face scene for reference. I started the first concept drawing. To do this I first drew a circle. With a line through it.
Tumblr media
I decided to do this as It then would be able to give the drawing accurate perportions. As the circle represented the head and the line the spine within the drawring

David Gerrard
For David as part of this assistant Animator module I have been asked to do some character concept designs for a melting woman.
To start this concept this concept design process I firstly looked for character reference online. For this concept design. I first looked at raider of the lost ark. This is because this film includes a scene where all of the badies within the film open the ark of the covenant. Which causes their faces to melt.
