I couldn't believe it. That boy stood in front of me years later. He stood in front of the man who failed him. He had that same hopeful light in his eyes. Despite my failure he could still look at me. That made me wonder, did he even recognize me? I wouldn't blame him. I'm barely recognizable from who I was.

His voice brought me back to the moment. He sounded older but it was definitely him. His mannerisms were the same as well. Some people just don't change. I wish I was one of those people.

"Sorry... I was kinda dozing off. Could you repeat that again?" He scratched the back of his neck like an awkward school boy asking his crush out. Although given he just got out of med school that isn't too off. I could see our senior surgeon Greg give that boy a stare. The kind of stare that feels like a hole is burned into your very being. The kid looked back at him. He had a deer in the headlights sort of look. One that reminded me of that day. A day that I wish I could forget.

"You will start next week. Make sure to make a good impression with your peers."

He turned towards me after facing Greg. He gave a somewhat forced chuckle. "I will try my best Mr..." He trailed off. It would be amusing if we were different people or had different pasts. "Uh what's your name again?" Again he was given that glare. I could just tell he would get that a lot in the future.

He didn't seem to remember. Or at least remember my face. I don't know how you could forget the face of the doctor who failed your entire family. The doctor that couldn't save his dad. If you could even call such a disgrace a doctor.

I have this werewolf/fantasy au and kinda wanna write about it. But idk if anyone would be interested.

Basically it takes place right before Derek and Angie go to Caduceus. Turns out Caduceus also specializes in supernatural diseases. Everything is going smoothly and normally until one day a patient that was being violent bit his arm. He cleaned it and stuff but it's already too late as the lycanthropy virus already got into his blood. So now he has to manage both GUILT and being a werewolf (and changes both mental and physical that causes)
